Top 10 Best White Stripes Songs
From their groundbreaking hits like Seven Nation Army, with its unforgettable bassline that's become a global sports anthem, to the emotionally charged Icky Thump, The White Stripes' discography is a rollercoaster of energy, emotion, and pure rock innovation. What makes a White Stripes song stand out to you? Is it Jack's virtuosic guitar work, the raw simplicity of Meg's drumming, or the way their songs can shift from whisper-quiet to thunderously loud? Here's where you get to have your say and see how your favorites stack up against the rest of the fanbase.
A phenomenal song. One of the top 100 songs since 2000, easy. Almost everyone has heard this iconic song. Even if you don't know who wrote it, you've at least heard the opening and can recognize it easily.
This song is by far the White Stripes' best. As much as I love all their other stuff, they just never surpassed this, and the ratings show.
Their most famous song, and their greatest song. This is one of those songs that gets stuck in your head easily, but you honestly don't mind.
This song is great, and its simplicity shines. From the instrument to the lyrics, every single part of it.
In my opinion, the greatest punk song ever written! It has the most energy of any of their songs. Its lyrics are excellent and very uniquely White Stripey.
It has been praised by a very large array of people, including Rolling Stone Magazine, NME Magazine, and even Steve Perry (lead singer of Journey). And believe it or not, the guy who helped write "Open Arms" and "Don't Stop Believin'" isn't exactly a punk rock type of guy.
This is the first song I heard from White Stripes on Jools Holland, along with Let's Shake Hands. I have never listened to a band play live before like this and felt so desperate to hear more.
A fast-paced song at their very best!
This beat goes hard with captivating guitar riffs throughout the song. The White Stripes have a way of doing insane things with just two people and two instruments - they don't need a bass player!
This song is intrinsically raw and gritty, but the message is clear. Tough choice between this and Fell in Love with a Girl, but this song is second only to Seven Nation Army.
Everyone will vote for Seven Nation Army, but this is quintessential White Stripes.
The guitar solo in this is maniacal. The lyrics have a hidden message about equality.
This song is so damn awesome! My personal favorite! Too rocking, pure White Stripes at their best.
Embodies everything The White Stripes are about!
The video's messed up, but the song is awesome.
Jack's guitar work in this song is his best and will always be his best. The song is one big blues rock jam fest and kicks everyone's ass just by listening to it.
This song is what makes Jack one of the best guitarists out there.
You should listen to it live! One of the greatest guitar performances by Jack White, and the drummer is pretty good too. Should be in the top five, to be honest.
This song rocks so hard! It's the best song I've ever heard based on the 12-bar blues. Very cleverly done, and the solos... Fantastic, Jack.
The guitar theme was simple and just felt like it was saying, "Hey, here I am, there's nothing better." The drums were perfectly in line with the guitar, and the singing was the most unique you could hear from Jack. His voice felt very vulnerable.
It is just perfect.
The dirty sound at the beginning and the muted parts in the bridge are so cool. And the contrast to the calm and peaceful verse makes this song the best of The White Stripes.
Let me tell you all about a song that made my head explode.
It was loud, and it was hard as rock with just a little bit of roll. With just a little bit of roll.
I actually think this is even better than Seven Nation Army, as crazy as that may sound. His voice sounds more "natural" in this, whereas in Seven Nation Army, it sounds a bit high.
Second only to Seven Nation Army. The video is amazing too, one of the best ever in my opinion!
I love this song! It is so catchy, the energy is contagious, and it has a deep meaning if you look hard enough.
I can't believe this isn't higher on the list! It has amazing lyrics and guitar, and it's The White Stripes all over! This song got me hooked on the band, and it remains a favorite.
Should be higher on the list. Great song.
First off, I don't cry. Like, at all. In fact, I hadn't cried since I was 5 until I heard this song for the second time. The first time I heard it, I was probably 9 or 10 and thought, "Oh wow, this is a nice song."
But when I heard it a second time, it actually made me break down into tears. It made me think about all the friends that had come and gone, and all the memories I made as a child wandering around in the woods alone, just taking everything in.
It takes me back to a different time, just an amazing song.
I saw Napoleon Dynamite a while back and then got into the White Stripes recently. You can imagine my reaction when I heard this song and realized my favorite Napoleon Dynamite song was by them.
I love it. It's so cute.
The opening riff is too good to be denied at least a top 15 spot. Being 24th is unacceptable. With great lyrics and the fact that it's surrounded by other great songs, this should really push the song further up the chart.
Totally awesome and also magnificent in a mind-blowing way. Music that reminds you just how good rock 'n' roll and life can be! Jack and Meg make music to fill your veins! Wow!
Just a lovely arrangement all the way through. Awesome lyrics and epic musicianship! Jack White once again shows his range as a musician.
Fantastic power. Rock meets 2-minute pop.
It really is a toss-up between Catch Hell Blues and Icky Thump. I love me some slide guitar. Jack does the blues unlike anyone in popular music today.
One of the best blues songs of the 2000s. It doesn't sound right that it is ninth.
This song is just completely insane, and I love it.
I have no idea how this song isn't up there with Seven Nation Army. It's the catchiest song The White Stripes have done!
Best and catchiest song. This is the first song I heard by The White Stripes.
This easily could be in the top 10 at least. This is one of the most underappreciated songs by The White Stripes. Really, guys, come on now.
Are you kidding? This needs to be a lot higher.
Honestly, an amazing piece of art. And some amazing lyrics too.
Always loved this song! As mentioned before, the riff is probably the best part of the song.
The studio version is good, but incomparable to the live version on Under Great White Northern Lights. That version of the song is one of the craziest and most intense songs I've ever heard.
Honestly, it blows me away every time I hear it.
Surprised this doesn't have more votes. The middle section, in my opinion, is one of the heaviest passages ever recorded. Great lyrics too.
Although nothing extraordinary, the guitar playing throughout is hauntingly beautiful, coupled with great, emotional lyrics.
Such a great song! The beat and the chorus, the way it builds up to the verse where Jack spits out the rhymes... amazing.
This song needs to be in the top 10. Please listen to it.
