Greatest Albums of the '60s

The Top Ten
  1. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles

I don't hate Jimi Hendrix, but this album is MUCH BETTER! Come on! THE BEATLES! This band made music better!

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is a perfect album because all of its songs are great!

Shame on you guys. I'm ashamed that nobody put this one in the top 5, if not in the top spot.

Greatest ever, both influence wise and the music itself is incredible.

  2. Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys

Greatest album of all time, let alone the '60s. Everything is just flawless, and every song is memorable. Sgt. Pepper's is great, but this is just a whole other level...

Should be second, one of the most perfectly-made albums of all time. The Beach Boys are the greatest!

This is the greatest album of all time, let alone the '60s.

  3. Revolver - The Beatles

Greatest album ever. Without Revolver, there wouldn't be any psychedelic music.

  4. The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground

It's awesome to see this album at number 2, but it would be even more awesome if it was number 1.

The greatest album of all time.

  5. Are You Experienced - The Jimi Hendrix Experience

The greatest debut album by the greatest guitarist. This one is better than Axis: Bold as Love.

  6. In the Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson

Best album of the '60s, easily. There is not much to say besides that. All the songs are masterpieces, and the album is incredibly influential in rock, progressive rock, and heavy metal.

Beside the point, influence should not reflect the quality of an album. This album is simply untouchable, especially albums from the '60s.

    Idea - Bee Gees

  13. ?

    Horizontal - Bee Gees

  14. The Contenders
  15. Let It Bleed - The Rolling Stones

  16. Rubber Soul - The Beatles

So many to pick from, yet this album, along with "Revolver," were in the top three Beatles albums.

Favorite album. First time the Beatles really started getting great.

Possibly the greatest album ever recorded.

  17. Led Zeppelin I - Led Zeppelin

  18. A Love Supreme - John Coltrane

  19. The White Album - The Beatles

  20. Tommy - The Who

  21. Blonde on Blonde - Bob Dylan

Should be No. 1. Dylan was the '60s. Blonde on Blonde should be No. 2. The most important albums of all time. The Beatles would still be writing teenie pop if not for Bob Dylan.

  22. Axis: Bold as Love - Jimi Hendrix

  23. Beggars Banquet - The Rolling Stones

  24. Aftermath - The Rolling Stones

  25. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn - Pink Floyd

  26. The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady - Charles Mingus

  27. Hot Rats - Frank Zappa

  28. Electric Ladyland - Jimi Hendrix

How could anyone forget one of the most influential albums of the 60's? I would also say that this has a WAY better album cover than any of the Beatles' by a long shot. The music on here would definitely kick the Beatles' butt BIG TIME.

Hendrix influenced everybody: Pink Floyd, The Stones, Led Zep, you name it. This is probably Hendrix's best album lyrically and instrumentally.

  29. If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears - The Mamas & the Papas
