    I really love My Chemical Romance and such, but they're not actually emo. SDRE, on the other hand, helped start emo, and the album itself was absolutely great and revolutionary.

    A short-lived band, yet they had a huge impact on the emo community!

    This is probably tied with Sunny Day Real Estate's Diary for me. I think the guitar work on this album is very beautiful and dynamic, and that, combined with the very soft vocals, makes for a very singular and great emo experience.
