Top 10 Guitar Solos with the Most Feeling

Some solos tear through your speakers with technical wizardry. Others speak. They bleed. They breathe. This list is all about those solos that make your chest tighten, your eyes well up, or your skin buzz like a struck chord still ringing out. The kind where it doesn't matter how many notes are played, only that each one feels like it matters.

You're not just hearing the guitar. You're feeling the hands behind it. The pain, the longing, the slow-burn joy, the quiet despair. Maybe it's a slow bend that sounds like someone holding back tears, or a sudden run of notes that bursts like a dam finally giving way. These aren't just solos. They're confessions. They don't try to impress. They just tell the truth.

Vote for the solos that hit you right in the soul. The ones you play back because they say what words can't.

The Top Ten
  1. Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd

I agree 100% that this song should be #1. David Gilmour is just awesome. His guitar playing oozes soul. His solo projects are also fantastic if you want some good guitar playing.

Amazing solo! I'm trying to play this solo. Virtually, it's not difficult, but the techniques David employs make the difference...

Absolutely amazing. Gives me chills every time. Reminds me of good times and always brings me tears.

  2. November Rain - Guns N' Roses

Made me cry. So sensational. This is one of the best solos that I had ever heard.

The best thing about this solo is that it touches you deep inside. It makes you feel like never before.

This is a ridiculous solo. If you haven't heard it, you definitely need to. This is definitely my favorite solo of all time, regardless of what others say.

This song and solo should be number 1. When Slash gets out of the church, it is just so amazing.

  3. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

It is a thing of beauty, and no matter how biased you are, you have to agree that this is the greatest and most emotionally inclined solo of all time.

  4. Hotel California - The Eagles

  5. Stranger in This Town - Richie Sambora

  6. One - Metallica

This is perhaps the greatest guitar solo ever written. It starts with Mr. Hetfield's rhythm and then Mr. Hammett's solo. The beautiful solo begins with some serious feelings (however, not as much as in Welcome Home) and then continues with beautiful imaginations.

Suddenly, around 1:25, the mood of the song swings and it is full of happy feelings. That part was just mind-blowing. I felt like I was flying in the air. Definitely a heart-touching solo.

  7. Time - Pink Floyd

  8. Story of the Blues - Gary Moore

The King of the strings, in my opinion. Gary could play any style on guitar. His playing was so emotional on songs like Still Got The Blues and Empty Rooms, especially his live versions.

Gary should be number one as he is still very underrated. 1952 - 2011, RIP.

  9. Beyond the Realms of Death - Judas Priest

This song should be at least in the Top 5 of this list..!

  10. Fade to Black - Metallica

This should be second to only Stairway to Heaven. How the heck did Eruption make this list?!

I heard it, and for me, it is very emotional. This along with Hotel California.

Thank god Kirk made a memorable solo.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

Still Got the Blues - Gary Moore

How is this not on the list yet? He is even second on the list of guitarists with the most feeling.

  13. ?

    Firth of Fifth - Genesis

This should be right at the top. Steve Hackett was really on it. This has got to be one of the most emotional guitar solos of all time!

  14. The Contenders
  15. High Hopes - Pink Floyd

At #39?! Are you kidding me?! This is Pink Floyd's second-best guitar solo. So much feeling and nostalgia.

  16. Child in Time - Deep Purple

  17. Europa - Santana

  18. Catch the Rainbow - Rainbow

Not even close to Ritchie's best, but it's so smooth and relaxing.

  19. Dry County - Bon Jovi

    Richie Sambora's longest guitar solo!

Friends, there are four guitar solos in this 10-minute masterpiece. You have to give this epic a listen! You can always thank me later after you've become ecstatic with what I'll call an eargasm.

  20. So Far Away - Avenged Sevenfold

    Exceptional song, fantastic solo.

  21. Glasgow Kiss - John Petrucci

  22. Padmasana - Buckethead

  23. Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi

  24. Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming - Deep Purple

  25. Hey You - Pink Floyd

  26. Always with Me, Always with You - Joe Satriani

  27. Serenade - Versailles
