Top 10 Music Artists with the Worst Fanbases

Music, like any art form, is subjective. What one person may consider the magnum opus of an artist might just be noise to another. That being said, it isn't always the music itself that causes a stir, but the people who love it.

When we say 'worst fanbases', what we really mean are the fanbases that, for one reason or another, have gained a notorious reputation for their attitudes, their behaviors, or even their sheer fanaticism. Often, it's these groups that cast a shadow on an otherwise talented artist, turning casual discussion about music into a toxic battleground of extreme opinions.

So, how does one determine which fanbases truly deserve this infamous label? Well, you're the judge here. You're the one who gets to vote, and your opinion is as valid as anyone else's. Whether you've had personal experiences with a fanbase that left a sour taste in your mouth, or you've observed their antics from a safe distance, you're the one who can tip the scales.
The Top Ten
1 Justin Bieber Justin Drew Bieber (born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer. He currently resides in Ontario, Canada and is Christian. He is the son of author Pattie Mallette.

I wouldn't say that the fans of The Beatles were as aggressive as the Beliebers. There is a big difference between cheering for singers that are great and cheering for Bieber, Lil Wayne, or The Insane Clown Posse. Fans of The Beatles were cheering for real musicians. The Beatles could write great tunes because they were creative. Also, The Beatles did not use auto-tune or pretend to sing when they were performing. Dumb fans of Bieber think that he's a great musician when he isn't, and his fans verbally attack people for saying that he's terrible. Also, I don't recall hearing about people that cut themselves for The Beatles.

Haters are worse, but his fanbase acts as if everything he touches turns into gold. For example, if he made a death metal song, his fans would still love it regardless of it sounding different. He just made a mumble rap song, and his fans will still praise it as if it were a gift from Jesus. He isn't as bad as people have been ranting about him, but he is also far from greatness.

2 One Direction One Direction (commonly abbreviated as 1D) were a British-Irish pop boy band based in London, composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and previously, Zayn Malik until his departure from the band on 25 March 2015. The group signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after forming and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition... read more
3 Miley Cyrus Miley Ray Hemsworth (born Destiny Hope Cyrus), known as Miley Cyrus, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Perverts, dummies, and nepotism made her one of the most overrated celebrities.

4 Ariana Grande Ariana Grande-Butera (born June 26, 1993) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Her four-octave vocal range has received critical acclaim, and her personal life has been the subject of widespread media attention. She has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including two Grammy Awards, one Brit Award, one Bambi Award, two Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards,... read more

Arianators occasionally attack Lady Gaga and Little Monsters. They have this superiority complex, thinking their idol is the main reason for someone's success.

5 Eminem Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is an American rapper, actor and music producer born on October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Eminem has sold over 300 million records making him the bestselling hip-hop artist of all time. In addition to his solo career, he is a member of D12 and (with Royce da 5'9") half of the hip-hop duo Bad Meets Evil... read more

If he wasn't a white rapper, at least half of his ignorant fans would not care about him. His career benefited from the same thing that made Vanilla Ice, Macklemore, and the Beastie Boys very famous rappers. Most of their fans are racists. The only reason Eminem is given more praise by racist fans is because he released more big singles than Vanilla Ice, Macklemore, or the Beastie Boys. The fanbase of all those overrated fools would call Nicki Minaj a divine goddess if she were a white rapper.

Their fans think that Eminem is superior, and they attack every kind of new school music. The fact that Eminem isn't even close to being one of the best rappers of all time but he is voted as the GOAT on various websites tells how bad his fanbase is.

His fans really need to quit blowing on this guy. He's not that good. Many people, even Eminem himself, know that if he wasn't white, more than half of his fans would not even care about him. Eminem has the worst blowhard fanbase of any rapper.

6 Chris Brown Christopher Maurice "Chris" Brown (born May 5, 1989) is an American singer, songwriter, dancer and actor. Born in Tappahannock, Virginia, he was involved in his church choir and several local talent shows from a young age. He is most well known for his physical assault towards the singer Rihanna in 2009. He is also known for many hit singles, such as "Kiss Kiss", "Run It!", "Forever", "Deuces", "Look... read more

It's pretty amazing that Chris Brown would still have a fanbase after the brutal beating. Then again, Ike Turner was still able to record music after that movie showed what he had done when he wasn't singing nor playing the guitar, and Ike did that to a much bigger pop star. The music business is really twisted. At least Chris Brown isn't half as liked as he was before that beating. It's really twisted that his most loyal fans would say that Chris Brown can beat them up any day.

His fans believe he's the next Michael Jackson and defend him when he abused Rihanna... Enough said.

He has fans who said he could beat them up any day. His loyal fans are terrible.

7 Bangtan Boys BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys, is a seven-member South Korean boy group formed by Big Hit Entertainment.

The worst of the worst, they won't allow you to dislike that garbage BTS band. They always use the race card to defend them. They have threatened people, promising to sue them if they say something negative about them, and they will mass join your tweets/comments as soon as you criticize them. They also are frauds because they fake streams to give them "hits" that nobody besides them listens to.

Worst fanbase ever, almost reminds me of religious cults, and they try to defend their so beloved band from any criticism. Even constructive criticism isn't allowed.

I click on every new music they release, but I don't consider myself as an ARMY because the term is now pejorative, especially due to some Korean citizens who are rude and toxic. It breaks my heart to say that, mainly because they have to complete military service, and they are great at what they do and their engagement. I like plenty of other artists like Sufjan Stevens or Axl Rose today as well. It's not my role to describe how big they are, but they are the most popular K-pop group, so people are mad about discovering K-pop. K-pop has been international since the 90s, and it has existed since the 50s.

8 Nicki Minaj Onika Tanya Maraj, known professionally as Nicki Minaj (born December 8, 1982) is a Trinidadian/American rapper / pop music artist. Minaj is most known for her songs such as "Anaconda", "Super Bass", "Starships" and her feature on "Bang Bang".

Despite her controversial songs, Brent Staples from "The New York Times" claimed her to be 'the most influential female rapper of all time', presumably... read more

They're always crying and playing the victim because Nicki never won a Grammy or never had a solo #1 hit. I'm already tired of how they behave on social media.

Her fans are as terrible as she is.

They are so toxic.

9 Kanye West Ye (born Kanye Omari West; June 8, 1977) is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer and fashion designer. He is regarded as one of the most influential, as well as controversial, artists of the 21st century.

They defend his actions despite being objectively wrong. He claims he's the biggest rapper, the second Jesus, he said slavery is a choice and trashed Taylor Swift at the AMAs despite her song regularly winning.

10 Selena Gomez Selena Marie Gomez is an American actress and singer. She is best known for songs like "Come & Get It", "Good For You", "Same Old Love", and "It Ain't Me". Selena Gomez's voice is mezzo-soprano but she usually sings in alto. She is best known for her role as Alex Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place.
The Contenders
11 Beyoncé Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, is an American singer and actress, who started out in the popular pop/r&b girl group Destiny's Child. They had multiple top 5 hits such as "No, No, No", "Say My Name", "Bills, Bills, Bills", "Survivor", "Independent Women", "Bootylicious", and "Jumpin', Jumpin" from 1999 to 2004. After they broke up in 2006, Beyonce pursued her solo career, creating smash hits such... read more

Beyoncé is overrated, and she definitely should be at the top of this list. The fanbase of most of the other singers on this list is sane compared to the Beyhive. Her fans think that she's a wonderful singer, despite evidence that contradicts that. A truly wonderful singer wouldn't need to lip-sync or use auto-tune in their performances. It's also stupid that her fans say that she worked hard to get where she is. If dancing half-naked on stage is working hard, then strippers work hard every day. The big difference is that strippers get paid much less, and they're not lip-syncing something that was written by other people. The Beyhive even thinks that Beyoncé is a standard among female musicians. That's stupid since she wasn't even the first female musician that became famous for doing what she had done to become famous. Obviously, the ignorant Beyhive wants to pretend that Madonna never happened. I really think that the Beyhive would go as far as being fake when it comes to defending Beyoncé. She has the worst fanbase of any singer.

12 Michael Jackson Michael Jackson (Michael Joseph Jackson; August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American singer, dancer, and songwriter. He passed away from cardiac arrest caused by a propofol and benzodiazepine overdose on June 25, 2009. He donated (at least) a remarkable 500,000,000 dollars to charity. Michael is also known as The King of Pop (a title given to him by Elizabeth Taylor) or under the initials MJ... read more

I've never seen someone so overrated. The music was so much better in Jackson Five. Freddy is 100% better than him. It's just that he didn't do pop and he was in a group. His fans don't know how toxic he is. It makes me hurt to say that because he is kind in the media, but I won't go back on what he is alleged. Hear his music, which sounds the same, his non-exceptional technique, and his dancing skills which consist always of the same. Michael's fans are, for some plus media, ignorant to think he is the best musical artist ever.

Honestly, I don't care how big he was. His fans need to learn how to handle an opinion. I like him a lot too, but as soon as someone doesn't see him as the greatest singer ever, they start mass hating really hard.

13 Elvis Presley Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was an American singer and actor. Dubbed the "King of Rock and Roll", he is regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century. His energized interpretations of songs and sexually provocative performance style, combined with a singularly potent mix of influences across color lines during a transformative era in race... read more

A thief, a poser, and a pedophile. His fans have a double standard when it comes down to him. I think if he had committed mass murder, his obsessed fans would still love him. Elvis is dead, and his music should be as dead as he is. He is the king of overrated losers.

That comment about Elvis is completely true. Elvis is a loser, and his fans do hold a big double standard for him. Also, racism played a big role in the double standard that surrounds him.

The fanbase is basically a cult these days. Elvis' real worth as an artist has been lost.

14 Nirvana Nirvana was an American grunge band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana disbanded after Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. The drummer of the band, David Grohl, went on to start the Foo-Fighters, an alternative rock band.

The band was comprised of Kurt Cobain (Vocals, Guitar), Dave Grohl (Drums) and Krist Novoselic (Bass).

Nirvana is most well-known for their... read more
15 5 Seconds of Summer 5 Seconds of Summer are an Australian pop-rock band from Sydney, Australia, that formed in 2011. The group were originally YouTube celebrities, posting videos of themselves covering songs from various artists during 2011 and early 2012. They rose to international fame while touring with One Direction on the Take Me Home Tour.

I love 5 Seconds of Summer and I am part of the 5SOS family. But I can admit that some (if not most) members of the 5SOS family can be annoying. Even I get annoyed by my own 5SOS family, so that might be saying something.

16 Carrie Underwood Carrie Marie Underwood is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She rose to fame as the winner of the fourth season of American Idol, in 2005. Her debut album, Some Hearts, was released in 2005.

Why isn't she #1 when her fanbase is literally made up of the KKK!

17 Linkin Park Linkin Park is an American alternative rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The current members include Mike Shinoda (vocals, keyboards, rhythm guitar), Brad Delson (guitar), Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (bass), Joe Hahn (DJ), and Rob Bourdon (drums). Linkin Park is associated with a mixture of alternative rock, hip hop, and techno. Some of their influences include Nine Inch Nails, Deftones,... read more

The fans are incredibly split on almost anything. On the one side, you have the arrogant HT/Meteora fanboys who hate anything Linkin Park makes after those albums. On the other side, you have the fans who worship every single song by the band. Even if you don't like a certain song or a certain album, they consider you not a real fan. It's mind-numbing and annoying.

18 Britney Spears Britney Jean Spears, born on December 2, 1981, is an American former singer and actress. She was born in McComb, Mississippi, and raised in Kentwood, Louisiana. As a child, she performed acting roles in stage productions and television shows, such as "The Mickey Mouse Club," before signing with Jive Records in 1997... read more

Because she sucks

19 Radiohead Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Colin Greenwoood (bass guitar), Phil Selway (drums), and Ed O'Brien (guitar).

Most pretentious fanbase without a shadow of a doubt.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Radiohead the band, but their fans?
Ugh... Radiohead could put out an album of ten tracks of farts and their fanbase would hail it as the greatest album since their previous release.
It doesn't help that reviewers are too afraid to say anything bad about anything they do, out of fear of being verbally castrated by their fans.

Should be in the top ten.

20 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English hard rock band formed in London in 1968 as the New Yardbirds. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums) and was very much the child of Jimmy Page who even financed their first tour. He had tasted some previous success with The [original] Yardbirds and was friendly with some big names in rock... read more

The most obnoxious people. They will literally pray for you to go to hell and send death threats to you if you even say the slightest thing about Led Zeppelin. I've gotten so much backlash over this stupid band and its obnoxious fanbase.

21 The Beatles The Beatles were an English pop rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The members consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They were soon known as the foremost and most influential act of rock era. Rooted in skiffle, beat, and 1950s rock and roll, the Beatles later experimented with several genres, ranging from pop ballads and Indian music to psychedelia and hard... read more

Definitely top ten worthy. So many of them say it is "ridiculous" to even consider that another artist could be better. They also sometimes say that virtually every later artist would not have become successful without them. This is fairly annoying. No matter how many records they sold, they don't have to be the greatest music artists of all time automatically.

I remember seeing a comment on YouTube saying, "Whoever thinks the Beatles are overrated should get a lobotomy," which is incredibly harsh. Overrated doesn't exactly mean bad.

22 Insane Clown Posse Insane Clown Posse is an American hip hop, horrorcore and rap rock duo consisting of rappers Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope, that was formed in 1989 in Detroit.

Insane Clown Posse is known for their violent and outrageous lyrics that often interpolate horror elements and religious symbolism, all of this being set in the fictitious Dark Carnival universe. The musical style ranges from oldschool... read more

Their fans are terrible, but at least Insane Clown Posse is not hugely liked. Can you imagine how horrible their fans would get around the web or in public if they were hugely liked? They would make the fans of Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, or even Beyonce seem tame by comparison. It's great that the fanbase of Insane Clown Posse is not that big.

The Insane Clown Posse sucks. Even with the dumb, devoted fans they have, I'm amazed they performed as long as they did.

It's very clear their fanbase is terrible when the feds called their fanbase a gang.

23 Kelly Clarkson Kelly Brianne Clarkson is an American singer, songwriter and children's book author. She rose to fame in 2002 after winning the inaugural season of the television series American Idol, which earned her a record deal with RCA Records. Clarkson's debut single, "A Moment Like This", topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and became the country's best-selling single of 2002. It was followed by the release... read more

Kelly Clarkson sucks.

24 Tool Tool is an American alternative metal/progressive metal band, that was formed in 1990.

The band is set together between Maynard James Keenan (Vocals), Danny Carey (Drums), Adam Jones (Guitar) and since 1995 Justin Chancellor (Bass).

The band is known for their influences from electronic sounds and their overly complex and strangely structured songs.

They released their debut album... read more

The band is good, but its fanbase is extremely insufferable. They are a bunch of pretentious people who think that they are smart and superior because they listen to Tool. The subreddit is filled with cringeworthy hero worship and an insane obsession over Maynard James Keenan. Tell a fan that Tool is a nu metal, and his reaction will tell you why Tool's fanbase deserves to be in the top 10.

Tried to get into them, then I saw "any diaper rockin' Tool fans here?"

25 Green Day Green Day are an American pop punk/punk rock band formed in East Bay, California in 1987. The members include Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals and guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass), Tré Cool (drums) and Jason White (guitar). Green Day are associated with punk rock, pop punk and alternative rock.
