Top 10 Songs that Describe You Best

For me, it's a balance between lyrics and music. I mean, some song lyrics describe me better, but I don't like the music and I can't say they describe me in the best way.

But you can add any songs that describe you best, whether it's their lyrics or music, or both.

The Top Ten
  1. It's My Life - Bon Jovi

This song best describes my best friend, Karen, who died before she even reached 18.

"It's my life, and it's now or never. I ain't gonna live forever. I just wanna live while I'm alive."

She was reckless, fearless, beautiful, exciting, strong-minded, and always smiling. I play this song loudly every anniversary of her death. My best friend and the song which describes her so perfectly.

    I still love you, Karen.

One of the biggest 2000s rebellion songs and also one of the most badass modern rock songs by a classic artist.

  2. Wherever I May Roam - Metallica

    Call me what you will,

But I'll take my time anywhere.

I'm free to speak my mind anywhere.

  3. Path of Glory - Demons & Wizards

I live a life of loyalty,

true to myself and my own (the way out).

A sea of life so peaceful and serene (the way out).

The path of life lies open wide for me.

  4. Highway Star - Deep Purple

I love speed, including fast songs, which is one of the reasons I adore metal music.

    "Nobody gonna take my car

I'm gonna race it to the ground.

    Nobody gonna beat my car.

It's gonna break the speed of sound."

  5. The Bard's Song (In the Forest) - Blind Guardian

"In my thoughts and in my dreams

    They're always in my mind

These songs of hobbits, dwarves, and men

    And elves

    Come close your eyes

    You can see them too."

I would say this because Blind Guardian songs take me to another place, and their songs are in my thoughts.

  6. Rising Force - Yngwie

Thunder and sparks in the heart of the dark

    I hear a rising force.

Searching my soul, I find something else.

I take my life in my hands.

From the gates of Heaven to the altars of Hell,

The power is at my command.

  7. Nothing Else Matters - Metallica

This is a love song. It's about the power of love. James Hetfield wrote the song while he was on the phone with his then-girlfriend. The lyrics, which talk about being "so close, no matter how far," indicate the bond they shared even when Hetfield was on tour.

  8. Heaven and Hell - Black Sabbath

"The world is full of kings and queens

Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams.

It's Heaven and Hell, oh well.

And they'll tell you black is really white.

The moon is just the sun at night."

  9. Don't Stop Believin' - Journey

I love the message of this song: "Don't stop believing..." I haven't yet.

  10. High Hopes - Pink Floyd

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    Everything I've Known - Korn

  13. ?

    Alone I Break - Korn

  14. The Contenders
  15. Under Pressure - Queen

  16. Canadian Idiot - Weird Al Yankovic

To add some humor to this list.

  17. Born This Way - Lady Gaga

I never felt like I fit in, so I cried when I first heard this song, and it gave me strength.

  18. I Am a God - Kanye West

  19. Fear of the Dark - Iron Maiden

  20. Old Time Rock and Roll - Bob Seger

  21. Rise Like a Phoenix - Conchita Wurst

  22. The Wolf in You - Chama C. Fox

  23. I Hate Myself and I Want to Die - Nirvana

Yep, that's me in a song title, especially today.

  24. England - Edguy

I can put my signature under every word of this song, but I don't like the music very much, to be honest (it was a bonus track).

    "England's got Steve Harris,

and as if that was not enough for you:

    England's got Bruce Dickinson,

and on top of it, the other ones in Iron Maiden too.

    Yes, it's true."

  25. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) - Green Day

  26. Fade to Black - Metallica

  27. La Vie Boheme - Rent

I may not be into everything that is sung in the song (e.g., drugs), but the overall content fits pretty well. I embrace everything that's individual, creative, and different, and I am open-minded to all cultures, subcultures (I love subcultures!), and lifestyles. I love freaks, you could say. Nevertheless, I am not totally anti-mainstream.

The people I'm friends with wear anime clothes, write fantasy books, or write rap music that challenges the stereotypes of the genre. I, myself, like to mix several subcultures and styles into my own, write songs, and produce and perform music.

What I don't like is conservatism, pretension, and people judging others because they are different. I especially dislike those with "normal" professions and looks who feel superior to those who live their lives a bit differently.

So. I guess the song fits me overall. Oh, and unlike the people in the musical, I don't hate my parents.

  28. Creep - Radiohead

This song perfectly described me during high school.

I used to get constantly bullied throughout school, which made me see myself as nothing more than an ugly cow. I probably would've ended my life had it not been for my best friend. I ended up developing feelings for her, causing me to finally realise that I was bisexual. Due to this, I never could confess my true feelings for fear that I'd lose the one person who cared for me.

  29. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

I don't want to die, but sometimes I wish I wasn't born at all. I think that's the line, because that's the way I feel.
