Top 10 Best Countries in the World

The Top Ten
1 United States The United States of America, or the U.S.A. for short, is a federal republic composed of 50 states, 48 of them are contiguous states. There are two other states, Alaska and Hawaii, which are north and south of the contiguous states, respectively. The United States declared its independence from the British Empire in 1776 with the Declaration of Independence. They won their independence in 1783 with the Treaty of Paris. Its capital, Washington D.C. (District of Columbia) is defined by imposing neoclassical monuments and buildings including the iconic ones that house the federal government's 3 branches: the Capitol, White House and Supreme Court. This country has serious issues. A too large and corrupt government, too powerful corporatism, fake politicians, horribly fragile economy, corrupt justice system, crappy education system, clowns in office for the past 25 years, etc. I could literally go on forever about how screwed we the people are. But despite all of that, I still put USA at the top because of where we came from. We had wonderful founding fathers who hate tyranny and love liberty, yet they are demonized today. These great men forged the greatest piece of writing ever created in this country called The Constitution of the United States of America. This is what makes the USA great. This is why we have had such glorious freedom for so long now. This Constitution has outdone every other constitution in existence and its principles can even help us in the mess we are in today. But our leaders are violating it every day without a care and without punishment. But I digress. This country is my pick for number one because it ...more

Alright, lemme get something straight. This country isn't perfect. No country is and no country will ever be. So I think when people move here, they could be disappointed due to how high they set their standards on what is often considered of of the better nations in this world. I would personally consider myself a liberal, but I'm fine with the way the country is. Sure, the government owning everything is pretty terrifying, but come on. This country by no means sucks, at least not as hard as I used to think it did. You just gotta get lucky with your place to live. So, for those moving here, the best states are New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, New York, Colorado, and Hawaii. Good luck for anyone moving here, and I hope you enjoy your stay, just be aware of the flaws with this place.

The most aggressive country in the world responsible for nearly all wars since WWII. Expensive healthcare, expensive schools and universities, expensive rents in the major cities and a population completely enslaved by debt with people starving in the streets due to a lack of social welfare and cities completely lost to criminals. Really, what is good about this country?

America has it's problems, particularly from the left, but we can't deny the freedoms we get in this country. From our country founded on July 4, 1776, we just have a privilege to live here, we get to have ultimate freedom of speech, which most countries do not have, and it's a blessing to live here. That's why I think United States is the best country ever

2 Canada Canada is a country in North America that is next to the United States, and it's the 2nd largest country in the world by area (size is 9.985 million km²). This country has 10 provinces, and 3 territories. Canada became a dominion on July 1, 1867. Its 10 provinces are: Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. Its 3 territories are: Yukon, Northwest territories, and Nunavut. Toronto, Quebec City, Montreal, Vancouver, Winnipeg, St. John's, and Fredericton are major cities in the country. Canada's capital city, Ottawa, is in the southeastern province of Ontario, near the city of Montreal ...read more.

Canada may not have the largest population, nor the biggest army, and may not have the biggest economy. But what this Great North strong and free has is good people, good economy, amazing natural areas, and diverse culture. In Canada any man, woman, or child who immigrates may get dual citizenship allowing them to further express themselves in the our Great cultural mosaic. Better to be a vibrant individual of Canada, than be another bit of grey slop in the American melting pot. The Canadians conquered Vimy Ridge when no other could, we fought for the allies in WWII. Also, if American is "so good" then why do they always use Canadian cities to represent American cities in their "good" films? Also the Canadian Political system is superior to the American for the reason that if the Prime Minister says there is something that should be done, it is then done! None of the pointless banter between a congress and a president. Should be leaving the U.S. in the dust, along with it's overt ...more

As I go through all of the comments I do agree and disagree. Yes Canada is a great place to live, a place where if you need healthcare you get it no matter what. Place with low poverty rates and low homeless rates. A beautiful diverse land, but unless you have lived here you whole life and have paid attention you wouldn't know all the cracks in Canada. Our politics are flawed like any other country, our economy is getting worse by the day. This is a country that will help other countries before helping its citizens. There is racisms all around Canada, I saw a lot of comments saying that there is no racism but that is so far from the truth, there is a lot of crime and corruption, racism and hate crimes. I am a born and raised Canadian and living here I would honestly say that Canada isn't the best country in the world, not so say that I don't love it, I do, I am so proud to be Canadian. No country is perfect and the problem today is that no one is informed anymore, no one can comment ...more

Canada is by far the best country in the world. Canadiens aren't stereotyping other countries like the USA does to Canada. In Canada there is way less crime, people do less stupid stuff, politics are way better in Canada than USA. Canada is a very peaceful country. Canada is not the warmest place, who cares if it's cold, I would rather live in a place with all 4 seasons than living in a country that is warm all year round. Taking walks in Canada is a good feeling because it's truly a beautiful place. As a Canadian, I hate it when people are stereotyping this wonderful country. Americans shouldn't be judging Canada when they're the ones who should be judged because of their own problems. Don't say stuff about a country unless you traveled in it. The only bad thing I hate about Canada is that there is way too many immigrants, they piss me off, they have no manures whatsoever. If immigration didn't exist there would be more peace, if immigrants had to pick one country to immigrate it has ...more

I've been living here for 9 years since I've moved from the Philippines. The best nine years of my life. This place is peaceful, not racist, well-educated and beautiful. Sure we have only 36 million people, don't have the strongest military or biggest economy, but we have the second biggest country in the world with a smaller population than California! That is a very good thing! That means less homeless and lots, LOTS more space. We have a good economy, and we don't need a very strong military! Our strong relationship with the U.S accounts for the absence of military.

This place has free healthcare and not to mention, everyone here is so polite! I've made a lot of friends since 2008, too much to count. Move here, and enjoy life.

3 United Kingdom The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly shortened to United Kingdom, UK or Britain is a Sovereign State located of the Northwestern coast of Europe. It is a Parliamentary Constitutional Monarchy currently lead by Monarch Queen Elizabeth II and its current prime minister is Boris Johnson. It is currently a member state of the European Union, but as of 2016 has start the withdrawal process, and is set to leave the Union in October 2019. ...read more.

War mongers and arrogant people with expensive universities and bad food and no culture besides hundreds of years of wars and enslaving a third of the entire world.

I think England is a beautiful country that sadly gets stereotyped a lot by Americans. If a British person went to America no one would tell.
America is only at the top of the list because Americans voted for their country.

Free Education, Free Healthcare and a strong military too. If a country like that ever comes along it will be the best and it has! The U.K. Deserves to be on the list because without it Napoleon or Hitler could have taken over the world, it's supported a lot of countries and deserves a 1st place certificate, sorry America you might be first in this and nearly everything else but in reality the results would leave you shock! " land of opportunity" tell me if you say this to everyone in the world the least you could do is actually prove it by something, anyway here's my point it's supported countries it gives free Education/Healthcare and with a high and powerful economy will soon start booming, you have my word.

Britain is number one safest, tolerant, welcoming and multicultural nation in the world where people from different races, backgrounds, cultures and religions live and get along with each other. Tourists never feel they have left their home, you'll find your people here. Our government deals with racism and hate crime very seriously. We are not stupid like Americans to vote a racist leader like Donald Trump to ban a specific race, religion, culture or background. Our government works with everyone to solve problems, not make enemies oh and our police force is the most kind and polite in the world who can deal with a crime without the use of guns.

4 Japan Japan is an island country in East Asia in the Pacific Ocean. It lies off the eastern coast of the Asia Mainland (east of China, Korea, Russia) and stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea and near Taiwan in the southwest.

Japan has a huge capital city called Tokyo, other cities in Japan include Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Osaka, Nagoya and Sendai. It's close to South Korea, which is on the North West of it. It has a large population of 126.86 million people (Statistics Bureau of Japan. Retrieved April 27, 2016). ...read more.

The Japanese make me look pathetic...

Ever wonder why there are no Asians on this site? They all actually have good things to do with their lives. While we're fighting over Beyonce and Madonna, they are learning combat skills and painting flowers or some. They are training to be ninjas, and one day they are going to attack America while we're all on our lazy fat asses typing on the computer. We won't even notice, because our faces will be so involved with our bags and boxes and more bags of chips. Mmm... Chips... Anyways, when they attack us, we will die immediately because they are always so skilled at random. They'll throw paper fans like ninja stars and kill us all. When we die, some tiny Asian will drag our bodies out with his immaculate Asian super-strength. Then some Asian will bury us. But he will bury us with outstanding talent. Because he's Asian. And that's why I am never going to smoke apples ever again.

Japan is lovely.

People are nice, clean, polite, modest, gentle, soft-spoken, civilized, orderly, punctual, intelligent, hard-working, cultured, clever, smart, and pleasant. Although the downsides of the Japanese people are being xenophobic, not very talkative, not open with their own thoughts or feelings, uptight, cold, and easily get depressed when things don't go well.

Japanese products are reliable, high quality, well-made, easy to maintain, good looking, and last for long time.

Japanese culture is lovely, serene, soothing, polite, and breath-taking.

Japanese cities are clean, orderly, comfortable, safe, and fun.

Japanese technology is mind-blowing, advanced, well-engineered, well-made, well-maintained, and reliable.

Japanese fashion is cool and cute without looking ridiculous (unlike Korean fashion).

Love Japan and Japanese people. Everyone is very polite and well mannered. I understand that many Asian countries dislike Japan for their past actions but Japan is growing and advancing. Although they haven't made a public apology, the people of Japan today feel very bad for what their ancestors did. Young people in Japan love and accept diverse cultures and ideas. Japanese are not as close minded as people think. They respect their own customs but they are fascinated by other countries. Some Japanese are quiet on the outside but have their own opinions inside but I think it's better that they are kind instead of saying bad things to/about people directly.

I am an American. Not Japanese at all. Many people hate this country because they say that this country had a horrible history, but think for a while. Lots of people don't realize that some things in the Nanking were actually made up by the Chinese. Also it is because they are one of the first "yellow" to actually "punch" the white. I'm not saying they are dumb, or brave, I'm saying that if a "yellow" punches the "white", the white will be definitely angry. Also they did this very recently, if you think about the thousands of years of history, which will lead a bad impression, even they didn't do that much of a thing to others. If I think about it, most country have a more bloody and violent history then other country. The only thing to hate about Japan is that the government they have (which is after World War 2) is terrible. At least Abe and other few people are working hard in the government, which brings me a smile to me.

5 Australia Australia, officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a sovereign country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. With an area of 7,617,930 square kilometres (2,941,300 sq mi), Australia is the largest country by area in Oceania and the world's sixth-largest country. Australia is the oldest, flattest, and driest inhabited continent, with the least fertile soils. It is a megadiverse country, and its size gives it a wide variety of landscapes and climates, with deserts in the centre, tropical rainforests in the north-east, and mountain ranges in the south-east.

Australia would have to be a serious contender for the Best Country in the world - to live. It is the worlds largest Island, has enormous natural wealth (93% of what the world requires to survive can be found in Australia). Has a population of only 22 million in a country the size of main land US (excluding Alaska) surrounded by some of the very best pristine beaches on the planet. One of the only countries in the world that didn't enter into a recession during the GFC. Has a very small national debt which will be in the black with in 2 years. The most diverse melting pot of different nationalities on the planet (more than the US) and it's beautiful from the tropical heat in the North to the icy snow down south, Australia has it all. I've lived in Europe, the US, Hong Kong and Singapore, traveled the world extensively and easily chose Australia to live permanently. 'It was a very easy choice.

Beautiful landscape with it's harsh outback, refreshing coastline, green hinterlands. Best of all worlds. The land shapes who we are, hard-working but full of mateship and companionship. Becoming very multicultural which is slowly becoming our national image. Which I love! I'm Australian and lived overseas and seen the world. The world is full of wonderful and beautiful places. All special in their own way. Full of culture and flavour. Australia, is what I call paradise. Our national identity can be debatable cause there are so many elements to Australia. That's what I like the most about it. I love Australia, every element of it.

Australia is an amazing place to live! Our way of life defines us by our willingness to give opportunities "A Fair Go". The political parties are stable, and voting is compulsory, meaning not only is the voting open for everyone above the age of 18 but you must vote to ensure that your opinion is considered to make the society a true democracy. Health care is free and Education is mostly free and also compulsory. We have an abundance of natural resources and beautiful landscapes ranging from tropical to forest to desert and even to snow. We are one of the largest, if not the largest culturally diverse countries in the world. Even though our history since colonisation may be short, it is very rich. We are one of the worlds leading nations in spearheading medical research and technology research in general. But, in my opinion the best thing about living in Australia and growing up here- after visiting other countries and speaking with many other nationalities- is the easy going nature ...more

Australia is the best country in the world- there is no argument about it. It is large and spacious, with beautiful beaches, a large group of wildlife and many popular tourist attractions. The people are friendly, the animals sweet, and the crime rate is low. Australia is rich in minerals, and a good government. We have many races and backgrounds in Australia, including Native Aboriginals, Europeans, Asians and Americans. We don't have wars, and our states get along. We have an impressive health system, and our education is top priority. We have a wide range of sports for children to get involved in, and many jobs for our adults and graduating students. It is the best country in the world, for the above reasons and more.

6 Germany Germany was formally united in 1871 under the initiative of Bismarck with King Wilhelm of Prussia as emperor. The previous 'Holy Roman Empire', basically a continuation of the empire of Charlemagne/Karl der Grosse was dissolved in 1806.

Some territory was lost after World War 1 and a lot more after World War 2, basically started by Hitler's Nazi dictatorship. Then the Soviets kept their zone - the 'DDR', East Germany, separate with a wall through the middle of Berlin, until 1990 when the country was reunited. ...read more.

Germany has been deemed the best country in the world, according to a new report published for 2016.

The inaugural "Best Countries" list by U.S. News & World Report measures global performance on a variety of metrics, and is topped by Germany this year.
1 Germany
2 Canada
3 United Kingdom
4 United States
5 Sweden
6 Australia
7 Japan
8 France
9 Netherlands
10 Denmark

Germany's leading position was due to a number of factors. They were the country with the best score in the "entrepreneurship" sub-ranking, informed by high marks given to their infrastructure, education and skill level of their labor force. Other categories Germany posted strong scores include "power" - which combines military might and economic success to score a country based on its global influence - and "quality of life".

Germany has an amazing variety of nature, reaching from the alps over huge forests, the Rhine and Mosel wine growing areas, to the shores of the Baltic and North Sea. Besides the wine the best beer is brewed in thousands of breweries, again every region or sometimes just towns make their own characteristic produce. Food varies as well a lot depending on where you are at. It has the highest number of museums, music halls, opera houses, symphonic orchestras of any country in the world. It is renowned for its engineering but other music, literature, philosophy, sciences etc. prevail as well - and I think Germans are quite modest about all that. The wars make us ashamed of who we are, but underneath we know that we are a great people because we try to learn from our own disasters. Germans are reliable and once you befriend a German, you know that you can count on them.

Lovely countryside and beautiful mountains. Nice cities going from big international and historical Berlin to small beautiful and cultural Heidelberg, one of the few cultural cities that weren't destroyed in the war. People are good just as good as any other person in another country. Some are funny and nice some are rude and some are just reserved but helpful. A very economically strong country, which doesn't need to rely on other countries. Can help themselves and solve problems mostly on their own. don't have to depend on anyone. Is the centre of Europe. Has many neighbours and is very well connected to these other countries. You can get very far very fast ( Autobahn or other public transport). Transportation system is very good. Trains are 'mostly' on time. Many Universities. Education is free for everyone, even those who come from other countries. Have many good movies, although many Germans don't think so but I do. Comedy does exist but is manly for Germans because its not ...more

I've lived here, I've lived in Italy and I've lived in S Korea. I like them all better than the good old USA. I was born in the US and I don't think I will ever go back. They brag about freedom in the US but I have somthing here in Germany that you can never have in the US. The freedom to walk around at anytime, anywhere and not have to worry about getting robbed or shot. Plus the countryside is just down right gorgeous!

7 France France, officially the French Republic, is a sovereign state comprising territory in western Europe and several overseas regions and territories. The European part of France, called metropolitan France, extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea, and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. France spans 675,000 km2 (251,000 mi2) and has a total population of 67 million (data from 2017). ...read more.

I am also Algerian and Muslim and I do not share the same opinion as someones here. I am living in France and I feel good, it is not perfect but is there a perfect country? And if we compare with some other European or not countries like Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Australia and lots more, France is a nice country. Right that some are xenophobic, but everywhere it is the same and really worth in countries I have just said. My brother has a goof business here in France, I work for him and our best clients are French, they like our food and we have never had bad remarks. We tried to open a restaurant in Italy we have been insulted. Right colonies were bad, but I do preferred having been colonized by French than by an other country. And French now are far from thinking like before, I am not sure for those other countries. I am sure you do not hit the right target. Anyway you we are friends, but we should be also with French people, believe me.

I'm gay living in Bordeaux, yes there are some homophobic people here, but less compare to major part of people. At least in France I can get married, I can get any job, I can rent, buy, play and even make love with whom I want, that's great enough. And in general homophobic people are religious ones (Catholics, Muslims, Jews, even Dalai Lama is against gay marriage), and everybody know that French are far to be the most religious people on this earth. And about those protests against gay marriage in Paris streets, it's because medias like to talk about, people like French bashing but above all because in France we have this right to demonstrate. Enough said. France was, is and will be THE great country it is.

Of course France is famously known for its gastronomy, but that is just the visible part of the iceberg. With more than 84 millions of tourists in 2015 is the most visited country in the world with USA and Spain. And it is also ranked number 6 in terms of GDP. Is in the top 5 or healthcare and the top 1 in Europe for its number of diverse cultures and origins. Counting everything will take ages, but right now we can confirm it as in the top 5. Just see how many people here try to destroy the image of France, you never try to destroy a bad country only a good one like the famous ones here too.

The food is amazing, and even though there is an attitude of being somewhat lazy, this country is friendly and welcoming, and deserves to be in the top 5. Also, French people have a sense of fashion. The accent, food and attitude of the people, along with the various monuments to visit are all factors which contribute to the fact that France is great, and is a country one must visit in his lifetime. Also, how is India first?

8 New Zealand New Zealand is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It is situated 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.

I do agree New Zealand is the best country in the world. But then again I am slightly biased considering I've lived here my whole life. However I've travelled to every continent and there's just something about coming back to New Zealand. The warmness of the people, the scenery which never fails to take my breath away, the yummy cuisine, the safe feeling about it, our stable and relatable politicians and government system, our unique flora and fauna. And many other great aspects which I don't have the patience to list. However although I love our country and people I don't think it is kind or necessary for us to put down other countries regardless of what we think. As a New Zealander I am proud of our kind, warm, relaxed, fun, accepting reputation, so it would be nice to see it reflected in the comments

The scenery alone would justify a top ranking, it is so astoundingly spectacular that the world's greatest poets struggle to do it justice. Not only is it beautiful, but it has unrivalled compact diversity - were else can you ski less than an hour from popular surf beaches (Taranaki), have glaciers descending into rain forest (South Island's West Coast), or a city built amongst geysers (Rotorua).

The fact that is is also consistently at or near the top of official lists for economic measures, quality of life, political stability, lack of corruption, ease of business, happiness etc is just the icing on the cake.

New Zealand was chosen to be the place where the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit (best movies in the world) was filmed because it is the best and most beautiful country in the world, I wish I could have lived in New Zealand, the remote natural places in NZ are literally the most beautiful places in the world. If I could, I would wish myself away from the burning desert we know as Australia, and live in the beautiful fjords of the southern island of New Zealand, where I would sent the rest of my years in living in and exploring in the beauty and bliss of New Zealand.

I personally have only visited the country once but as soon as I touched down in the country you could tell there was something special about this place. Everywhere you looked showed something new and amazing from their rolling green hills towering snow cap mountain, Crystal clear waters and majestic fiords it even smells way more natural there. Their food is so natural and even their birds they have are awesome. Eg kea, kakapo and kiwi. When I retire from my job in the U.S.A that's where I'm headed... My version of paradise!

9 Sweden Sweden, officially the Kingdom of Sweden, is a Scandinavian country in Northern Europe. It borders Norway to the west and Finland to the east, and is connected to Denmark in the southwest by a bridge-tunnel across the Öresund. At 450,295 square kilometers (173,860 sq mi), Sweden is the third-largest country in the European Union by area, with a total population of 10 million.

Sweden has high standards, is very safe, clean, taxes are high in order to provide people health care and school for free. People are well educated and polite. It's easy to live in Sweden. Swedes are generally no racists and they welcome a big amount of immigrants. Most of them are really thankful to come from war to such a peaceful country. It's not paradise on earth, some people would find it a bit stiff maybe, and people are not usually very outgoing, but it's probably the number one best country to live in. My mother is Swedish so I have visited the country many times. My favorite part is Dalecarlia, with strong cultural heritage, great nature and beautiful folklorist art.

Sweden deserves to be in the top 5 of the best countries of this planet Earth. Firstly because we are the kindest people, secondly because the Sweden people are the most beautiful, our blond hair women are recognized to be the most beautiful women of the whole world, please have a look on the appropriate lists on this website. Thirdly our country is so beautiful with its numerous fantastic lakes, islands, sea costs, forests and the winter sport you can enjoy with lot of fun in so relax atmosphere. Our country is the cleanest, we take care about our environment, take care about our people our healthcare system one of the best and our food are just exceptional.
Please do not hesitate to come and visit us,you are all welcome and also for working, the Sweden unemployment rate is one of the lowest in Europe.

I'm not Swedish - but being a brown Asian man, I have found the Swedes to be the most generous, warm and loving people. I'm sure there are exceptions, but in my opinion, they have a quaint, calm nature. Enjoyed talking to them on the streets and cafes. I love the beautiful nature they are blessed with - the design thinking their young talent display to come up with the most sophisticated, socially forward civil development ideas. I wish to live there someday.

I can't believe that Sweden isn't higher up this list.
It's awesome!
It tops or nearly tops most official lists (I.e. not Top Tens) for things like peacefulness, happiness, ecological friendliness, economic stability, low gender pay gap, income equality, etc. The Nordic style of social welfare is in my opinion the best kind of government in the world. Go Sweden!

By the way, I am not Swedish. But I wish I was.

10 Switzerland Switzerland, officially the Swiss Confederation, is a federal republic in Europe. It consists of 26 cantons, and the city of Bern is the seat of the federal authorities. ...read more.

This country holds the key how to create a successful country. No other multi-national county on the planet is as stable as Switzerland.

Switzerland is greater than anything else you can imagine! Although I love 43 countries, Switzerland is the most favorite of all! Check out the most famous customs: you'll always see an alphorn band throughout the day. The swiss cuisine is always clean and tasty. Geneva is a great shopping place. You can shop for watches, clothes, chocolate etc... You must live there! Just visit it in the summer and see the great wonders and destinations. You'll feel happily deeply inside!

WHO PUT USA?! I'm from and live in the U.S. but it's a terrible country yeah, they're a world power and yeah they're rich (despite the 21 trillions of dollars in debt they have and I'm not joking) they destroyed innocent Muslims with drone strikes. Look up on YouTube, "the most honest three minutes in television history" that'll explain it all. Switzerland is perfect, the pure golden child that's rich and stays out of drama. They have the Swiss alps which I want to live in. That place is just beautiful in every aspect

Switzerland is better than any country in the world. It's clean, beautiful, and has nice people. It may be small but it should be number one. India is very dirty and should not be number one. You can really enjoy nature in Switzerland. One more thing is if you love shopping, most large Swiss cities have a section in the city dedicated to shops so you can enjoy your favorite stores right in the heart of the cities!

11 Italy Italy, (Italian: Repubblica Italiana), is a unitary parliamentary republic in Europe.

Italy covers an area of 301,338 km2. With almost 62 million inhabitants, it is the 3rd most populous EU member state. Located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, Italy shares open land borders with France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, San Marino and Vatican City. The Capital and largest city is Rome. Other major cities are Milano, Naples, Turino, Venice, Florence. Italy's official language is Italian. ...read more.

Fantastic art and design, a beautiful language. Amazing women, and the people are incredibly at home and sociable. It's easy to just be yourself, and as this goes for everyone, people can come across as rude or happy to an unsuspecting yet well traveled visitor, but it beats the false attitudes of the silly rigid social structures in other countries. It feels great to just be, and Italians do this all whilst holding a smooth amount of class.
The food is the best, and it is incredibly diverse. They have serious problems with economy, and my inability to get a job there has prevented me to move there. I can't wait to get a better future.

These are all opinions, and there is no such thing as the best country.

I'm surprised of how many haters wrote on this. We all know Italy is not the best country and there is a lot of things that could be done to make it a better nation but still. Italy is not as bad as most of you all wrote. Ignorant people are everywhere and anybody can have a bad experience in different countries, which does not mean that country is the worst. I feel sorry for what people from outside feel about Italy and I'm sorry for some narrow minded Italian that left a bad impression. I've travelled a lot but I must say few other places gave me what Italy always does. Even more, I've never felt the feeling that Italy always gives me. It's a mixture of thoughts of surprise and wonderful sensations. As I said before, Italy is right now far away from being number one, but it's not by saying bunch of comments which honestly are not really appreciative that we make this a better place.
I voted Italy for how much it fascinates me any time I come back here and for how much hope I have ...more

Why Italy is one of the best country in the word? Actually there's a lot of reasons.

Let me start mentioning Italian food: this is the best in the world (pizza, pasta, mozzarella and so on). We are well knew for us good wine as well. In other countries you can see Italian restaurant everywhere you go, and this is a clear sign that Italian food is one of the most appreciated in all the world.

The Italy is the hometown of the culture, of the art, of the architecture, of the design. We have a lot of cities in which you can live in first person the Renaissance's emotions, the Roman Empire's emotions and you feel like catapulted in another epoch.

A lot of our cities are world-recognized: Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples, Milan and so on. And furthermore we have fantastic beaches well knew in all the world, above all in Puglia, Sicily, Calabria and Sardinia.

I could go on for hours...

Italy may be economically troubled right now, but the amount of art, history and culture it has donated to the world over the centuries is equal to no other country.
The food is one of the best on Earth.
The Roman Empire was arguably one of the most outstanding powers in the world.
Cities such as Rome, Venice, Florence, Naples and Milan are among the most beautiful in the world.
It has a beautiful sea, great mountains and amazing landscapes.
Michelangelo, Leonardo the Vinci and Galileo Galilei were all from Italy, and they have greatly contributed to human accomplishments.
Besides, Christopher Columbus, an Italian explorer, was the one who discovered America.

12 Norway Norway, officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a sovereign and unitary monarchy in Northern Europe whose territory comprises the western portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula plus the island Jan Mayen and the archipelago of Svalbard. Oslo is the capital of Norway. Norwegian is the official language of Norway.

Norway IS the best nation in the world, no doubt. It is the best place in the world to live, the second happiest country on the planet, there are basically no class differences and the nature is so beautiful and well preserved there is no competitor. It has more lakes than Finland, aka the land of the lakes. And it is one of the most democratic countries on our planet. The human rights aren't represented better anywhere than in Norway. It is a country that also sits on the top of multiple sports rankings, despite a population of only 5 million. No doubt, there is not a country that is better than Norway on our planet.

Norway is a beautiful country. It has low crime rates due to the country's excellent prison system, people who are in shape due to the beautiful surroundings that are perfect for excercise, and equal rights for everybody. Did I mention it has "Take on Me by A-ha"?

The best country live in, without doubt. I'm not even Norwegian, but this IS the country in the world where the human rights are best represented. Too bad they have that ugly woman as prime minister:/ And by the way, they have so much oil and money! Why don't they use it a little bit? Heard that Swedish schools have warm lunch in their cantina, does Norwegian kids have to bring their own, frozen food to eat for lunch?

I had been there for about a year. I am so fascinated to its beauty. A truly European country. It is so peaceful country having gentle, hardworking and kind-hearted people. Moreover, the best thing of Norway is - it's a well organized and developed country. The people are simply awesome, they do not hinder others but respect co-existence. The dark woods, small hills, lakes and the snow... What does it not have? --- Everything.

13 Russia Russia, or the Russian Federation (RF), is a transcontinental country spanning Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. It is the largest country in the world by area, covering over 17,125,191 square kilometres (6,612,073 sq mi), and encompassing one-eighth of Earth's inhabitable landmass. Russia extends across eleven time zones and borders sixteen sovereign nations, the most of any country in the world. It is the ninth-most populous country and the most populous country in Europe, with a population of 145.5 million. The country's capital and largest city is Moscow, the largest city entirely within Europe. Saint Petersburg is Russia's cultural centre and second-largest city. Other major urban areas ...read more.

Russia is the best Country. It has the most beautiful landscapes, a wonderful language which can express anything, a great history and especially the most wonderful People: they know justice, liberty, are strong but caring. They are just being raised like that and this is right. There surely are People who are addicted to Money and might but even they become pure and truthful when it's needed. Russia is the Country of fairy-tales and fables. In Russia live about 185 ethnic Groups together in peace. Russian Humor is so specific but still the funniest I could ever find: it is somehow dark, racist and extreme, but still kept adequate and even a bit conservative. This Country of Course does not have much Money, but I think that other nations should take it as a good role model because of ist natural kindness.

Although am not Russian (Chinese), I really love Russia. Orthodox culture is incredible, I love the architecture style from Tsarist Russia and matryoshka dolls are really cool. Russian literature is the best in the world. Fyodor Dostoevsky ("The possessed" is my favourite work from him), Vladimir Nabokov and Leo Tolstoy are all very talented writers. They are also a nation with a very interesting history and strong people, a lot of Russian people died in the battle of Stalingrad against Nazi Germany, with out their resistance I don't think we would win this war, much respect from WW2. Finally Russian women are so beautiful and Russian men are handsome as well.

I am russian:) But I know English cause I live in the United Kingdom, Russia is the biggest country in the world, Which is actually amazing! The people are wonderful, they will always greet you with a smile, it is worth a visit so you decide yourself. I've only been to Moscow though but it seems like heaven, the food, clothes, people, it's a trip that you will remover for life. The houses are beautiful and the streets and the views from mountains (My mum and dad lived in Russia for 23 years) So please vote if you can.

As a Russian, I invite all of you people, to explore the beauty of my giant country. Unbelievable views, architecture, cuisine and history. My country is a country of contrasts. You can see how ancient weave with hi-tech. One step from the city and you plunge into beautiful nature. And our winter, mmm, there is a lack of such beautiful things in the world. So, once you have tried the northern spirit, you won't forget it.

14 China China, officially the People's Republic of China, is a country in East Asia. It is the world's most populous country, with a population of more than 1.4 billion. China spans five geographical time zones and borders 14 countries, the second most of any country in the world after Russia. Covering an area of approximately 9.6 million square kilometers (3,700,000 sq mi), it is the world's third or fourth largest country. The country consists of 23 provinces, five autonomous regions, four municipalities, and two Special Administrative Regions (Hong Kong and Macau). The national capital is Beijing, and the most populous city and financial center is Shanghai. Chinese (Mandarin) is the only official ...read more.

Chinese people are hard working, adventurous, organised, smart, family oriented, enterprising, diverse and accepting of other cultures. When they migrate to other countries, they work hard and are law abiding. They try their best to integrate and assimilate. They can be like the ants and bees of the human world. Their people toiling away, unrelenting and focused.

However, they face many discriminations especially in Western societies where the westerners feel very threatened by their diligence. Just see how many hundreds of derogatory terms they give to Chinese to try to put them down. China was once too proud of being a great civilisation, they slept for 300 years while the other countries progressed and conquered the lands around them. Only those who learn the lesson of humility, can be great leaders. The harsh reality is the winners of this world aren't the meek and hardworking people, it is usually the aggressive, greedy and violent nations who go around the world ...more

I'm Chinese. After seeing so many haters in this world, I realized how nice the people in China are. Yes, they seemed cold and indifferent, they don't like to smile. But they are actually warmhearted and helpful, they are not good at expressing true emotions. They don't pretend to be polite, but if they say "thank you", it means they are really grateful and 100% moved by your help.

And I really missed the food in China. I feel so lucky to be born in such an amazing country with unbelievable numbers of yummy dishes. If you are a honest fan of delicious food, you must come to China. Forget those American-Chinese fast food, they sucks.

China is great. Every country has negativity inside themselves, but we need to look at the positive side. As a teenager raised in China, I'm proud to say I am Chinese, and China is the best place in the whole wide world. China has good food, good economy and a lot more. Hardworking is also a common element in China. People around me work as hard as they can to achieve their dreams. Now that I live in the US, I feel like America really needs to improve. Almost everything I buy at shops are Made In China, the airport are not as attractive as the Chinese ones, and the culture is not as rich. I hope America can catch up to become as sophisticated as China. GO CHINA!

I've lived in China for a year, I love that country for its Culture. China may have their bad, but it's a good country to live... According to my experience, you can find a lot of healthy old people live in the major cities such Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hongkong, etc...

Some people said that China is a dirty country, full of pollution, poverty, and the government are kinda bad, but I don't think so... it's not that really into what some writers said on their books or website page...

I love this country so much, either good or bad, I will still love this country, and I'm gonna find a way to return to this beautiful country sooner...

15 Iceland Iceland is a Nordic island country in the North Atlantic Ocean and the most sparsely populated country in Europe. Iceland's capital and largest city is Reykjavík, which (along with its surrounding areas) is home to over 65% of the population. Iceland is the only part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge that rises above sea level, and its central volcanic plateau is erupting almost constantly. The interior consists of a plateau characterised by sand and lava fields, mountains, and glaciers, and many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Iceland is warmed by the Gulf Stream and has a temperate climate, despite a high latitude just outside the Arctic Circle. Its high latitude and marine influence ...read more.

In my opinion, Iceland is a role model for the world. The way they do things is fascinating, the geography and the climate there is unique.

Although, 17!? Come on guys, this country is THE ONLY country with NO mosquitoes, they are one of the safest if not the safest country in the world, it has improved drastically when it was at rock bottom, it is one of the happiest countries, 0-4 deaths from a gun per year compared to hundreds of thousands in the USA!

Iceland may not be as developed and advanced as the USA but they are one of the best!

Iceland is an incredibly peacefully nation, with very pretty scenery. Also, I love their language. I must give them credit. Also, they fought corruption in their government and banks, unlike most of the Western world. I say this as an American.

This country is friends with Russia. If you were here right now, you could watch this chaos like a show. But if you're in the USA, Lebanon, UK, Australia, France, Iran, or Armenia, you ARE the victim of this chaos, no matter what city of those countries you're in.

Everything is good in Iceland, if we didn't have USA and China, they would have surviving glaciers 200 years later. Climate is mild by the way, not cold as everybody thinks. NOT FROM Iceland

16 India India, officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country (with over 1.2 billion people), and the most populous democracy in the world. Its capital is New Delhi. Some other major cities are Mumbai, Chennai, and Ahemdabad. The most spoken languages are Hindi and English, but there are 22 official Indian languages.

We have many non-India comments here. Let others shout... Scream... Scold... No matter what! India's on the top!

INDIA is the best COUNTRY in the world because it is very beautiful, it is the most powerful country, INDIA have largest armed force, it is the big economical power. Jaiho

Hello Indians, I'm from Bangladesh. I think this is a true review. India is one of the richest countries of the world and it has a lot of attractive cultural traditions. It is also one of the largest countries of the world. Historical places are amazing and travel destinations are dashing. A huge number of Hindus, Muslims and other religious people have been living together peacefully there for centuries. Some religious collisions were seen in the past time but neither Hindus nor Muslims of India should be blamed. It is the dirty 'two nation theory' which was the cause of all mishaps. What did Pakistan do with Bangladeshi people (East-Pakistan at that time) after 1947? They tortured both Hindus and Muslims of Bangladesh. Bangladeshi people will always thank India and Indian people for those great help and supports during the liberation war. There are some people in Bangladesh who are still against the liberation of Bangladesh. These people are the main problem of Bangladesh. We had ...more

India is our holy land. No words can explain the beauty of our land. No wonder why more and more people from outside visiting India every year. It's a booming economy after China. As Swami Vivekananda once said, the 20th century was yours America & Europe, but the 21st century is ours, Indians. America and Briton are more powerful with your money and ammunition, but remember, all of you peoples database is in India. Most of your office's call centers are in India. 75% of Indians working in NASA & 60% of your doctors are Indians. We are very proud of it.

We love peace. We never attack any country. We have 28 states and 7 union territories, many races, religions and languages, but we are one. No one can divide us like it happened in USSR.

17 Spain Spain, or the Kingdom of Spain, is a country in southwestern Europe with parts of territory in the Atlantic Ocean and across the Mediterranean Sea. The largest part of Spain is situated on the Iberian Peninsula; its territory also includes the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea, the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, and several minor overseas territories also scattered along the Moroccan coast of the Alboran Sea. The country's mainland is bordered to the south by Gibraltar; to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea; to the north by France, Andorra and the Bay of Biscay; and to the west by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean.

Simply the best country you can imagine. Its got everything from warm to cold places, beaches and mountains, rich culture and great food, amazing castles and cathedrals, very nice people, etc.
I love this country it is very culturaly rich because its had greek, roman, Muslim, Jewish, celtic, visigothic influence and much more. This country also has so much history that I can't fit it all in this post so you are going to have to look it up. Each part of this great country is so different yet equally beautiful. Spain is also one of the leading countries in sports. It is the second country with the most turism. This place is like no other and should at least be in the top five.

For a relatively small country their contribution to the world is amazing. Spanish is the second most spoken language on earth (behind only Mandarin). Spanish cuisine, culture and religion is the foundation of many of the other nations of the world. Spanish/Hispanic culture is rapidly spreading through the United States which is now a bilingual country. A new Spanish/Hispanic era is Dawning.

Spain is a marginal country, with very little contribution in terms of economy, politics, culture, technology and industry. It's currently supported by the EU contributions. Nevertheless, the unemployment rate reach an astonishing 25%, and essentially remains an underdeveloped country. On the other hand, it's one of the world largest exporters of envy.

Spain is the best country in the world! They have just about everything that you need to be happy. The sights are breath-taking, the beaches are beautiful, the cuisine is WOW no words for it and the people are warm and friendly. Overall it's perfect, should have been in the top five!

18 Ireland Formed in 1916 after the Easter uprising, Ireland is a small country with a population of roughly 5 million.

Ireland should be 1! Coolest accents ever! The people who hate are only jealous cause they wish they were Irish! There's so much culture! Brilliant nightclubs and pubs! They know how to have a night out! And england is horrible they think they know everything! They make complete asses of themselves! They think they own the north of Ireland but they never will! They have to get it through there thick heads the Irish are the best and nicest people! But when you mess with them or any one they care about they can take you out with the click of a finger! They can throw a punch! And can handle their drink! Don't try and outdo them!

Very great country. Ireland is packed with richness and history it made very many myths that people use today such as the leprechaun. It is a country where you can go walk on the streets at midnight and not even get mugged.
Though the only place I would look at for is Dublin. Very great city though. It's very peaceful and nice. You can start of your day by. Getting breakfast a t a nearby diner then walk around and maybe go to a nearby neighborly farmers house. But America is definitely the best

Ireland is actually one of the safest places you can possibly live, when you think about it! Unless you go to the zoo, it's extremely rare, even impossible that you will encounter a harmful species. Also the crime rate is very low. The majority of Irish are welcoming to people from different countries that come to Ireland and don't discriminate. In addition to this, Irish have the nicest accents ever, of course.

Irish inhabitants in general are extremely hospitable and have a delightful sense of humor. The green (hence Emerald Isle) landscape and geography of Ireland is utterly breathtaking and beautiful. I was instantaneously captivated by the incessant friendliness and high spirited nature of the locals. The accents are incredibly awesome and are pleasant to the ear as well.

Denmark really is one of the best countries in the world. Denmark is one of the freest and happiest countries. Number two in the most democratic countries. Almost no corruption. Universal healthcare and education. In fact, when you are over 18 you receive money from the state, for going to school and getting an education. Denmark, along with Norway and Sweden are the countries that spend the most money in terms of GDP on helping poor countries. Denmark is very peaceful. There is almost no crime. And it is the best at creating clean energy and helping the environment.

Couldn't agree more with him.
- All of this is true. All people, who is under an education is Denmark is also State education granted, so if you're from the States and you're under an education you can search for education grant, and will most likely get it.

I could go on for hours, Denmark is an amazing country!

Denmark is one of the only Places you can go to school, to the doctor and hospital for free. If you can't Work due to Health, old age or any other reason you will get Money from the state to live and exist as human.
In Denmark you are taken care of.

I love this country! We're amazing, I will live here and love it here forever, Denmark is a pure and amazing country, you should all see this amazing land we have.
I hope one day the poor Americans can see it here.

20 England England, previously the Kingdom of England, is a constituent country of the United Kingdom along with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

England can trace its history as far back as the 10th century, but modern England didn't start till the Norman Invasion of 1066. In 1535, England annexed Wales and in 1603 shared a Monarch with Scotland, which eventually led to the Unification of the two into 'Great Britain', in 1801 Ireland was incorporated forming the 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland', in 1922, 6 counties stayed in the UK while the rest of Ireland declared Independence. ...read more.

England is awesome country and although I have never been there I have researched a lot about it. I live in the U. S and I really want to move to a country in Europe when I get older. I am only 13 and I really hate United States. I'm suppose to be proud but I'm not. United States sucks. I really like a lot of countries in Europe. My aunt lived in Germany until she was 8. I envy her.

England is diverse, with many museums and cultural interests and a stunning coastline and lush green countryside, for the latter you need rain and we do get some of that! We also have a tremendous sense of humour and are not afraid to laugh at ourselves. How boring to wake up knowing the sun is going to shine every day--I think!

Best literature in the world, creator of sport, amazing actors, beautiful landscape and countryside. Home of Shakespeare, Dickens, the Brontes, David Attenborough, the Beatles, the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes... The list goes on.
To give you a clue, just how many people in the world speak OUR language.
English. Yeah, quite a few.

I really DO NOT UNDERSTAND why ENGLAND are 34! What the hell, England is the best, most known, I'm British, and all my foreign friends SPEAK BRITISH, GO BRITAIN! Why is it so low down I do not understand, I mean I see U.K. close to 10th which is good but then that is Ireland, Wales, Scotland, AND ENGLAND, so no specification! But finally a find England UNFORTUNATELY sitting here in 34! Come on England. It's the real country.

I agree that there's a lot of things to improve in that country, but in my opinion everything can change if they work together to make that place better. So, brazilians friend, stop to talk bad things about your home, you complain so much and have no pride to be part of this incredible nation! Come on, the biggest change starts with you guys!

By now Brazil is under a corrupt Govt now but is battling and arresting these guys dearly!
But we have the best beaches, awesome hotels, the most beautiful tropical NATURE and a friendly people, indeed.
THERE are high tech industries in Brazil and a huge elite Rainforest Force that assures you a invasion trial here would be deadly for the intruders.
THERE are many European and Asian people here (Italians, Germanies, Russian, Portuguese, a vibrant cultural LIFE, an architectonic advanced tradition and much Richness to be exploited yet.
What holds Brazil in lower rates in these "top best" evaluation is the fact we are a non-anglo-saxon & independente Country.
Brazil should be in the 7 place till the next development jump.
GOD bless this Country, that is a barn of Christian Missionaries, also.!

One word: Carnaval! It is both loved and hated by many, but the raw, nonjudgmental community, drunken fun, and unbeknownst biggest party in the world just fills the air in a ecstasy only compared by its size... really Brazil is the 5th biggest country in the world with the 5th biggest population... The party is massive! Never felt safer in my life and I live in Israel... Love it!

Brazil is unique in the world History. A country that, despite all the theory about different races living together, Brazil succeed in organized a society where white, black, Indians, Europeans live togheter. There are some conflicts, but in general, we mix, we live, we fight for and at the end an unique human beeing is beeing constructed in this area. The Brazilian. Not mention all the different tour possibilities we hold here. Como to know Brazil and get surprised with the possibilities of human nature.

A Nordic country. Well-being, happiness, wealth, safety, education, environmental questions, fair foreign politics, plenty of nature everywhere, freedom, low corruption, democracy, equality etc. Finland is among the best countries in all of those areas. All in all, the best country in the world.

The lesser known nordic country, usually in the shadows of the Sweden, despite Finland not being any worse. Most people are humble enough to admit that liking one country only because you live in it is selfish (few exceptions, as always), and will criticise things happening both in and out of the country. Most likely won't be the "best" or second "best" country in the world and will probably be unknown and low on this list because of the low population.

The rapid developement of Finland from pretty much nothing, a country 100% dependent on agriculture and wood, to one of the world's most educated, most liberal, most egalitarian and most technologically advanced countries in less than 100 years is badass. And all of this without benefiting from "third-world" countries or colonies, without wars or conquest, without aggressive foreign policies, and Finland did this while successfully defending against the strongest war machine in the world during WWII.

I love my country because its clean and there are beautiful views. In Finland we have the best education system in the world, people are nice and friendly. We are peaceful nation and our language is the most different than any other Nordic language but maybe the most beautiful, even J.R.R. Tolkien use Finnish language to do his amazing elf language

23 South Korea South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea (ROK), is a country in East Asia, constituting the southern part of the Korean Peninsula and sharing a land border with North Korea. Its western border is formed by the Yellow Sea, while its eastern border is defined by the Sea of Japan. South Korea claims to be the sole legitimate government of the entire peninsula and adjacent islands. South Korea is a blessed country with beautiful and talented people. The invention of the Hangul (Korean alphabet) show how smart they are. Despite of their tragic past marked by multiple invasions, today they are one of the most developed and richest country in the world. Personally, I was introduced to Korea (less than one years ago) through Korean dramas and pop musics and now I have no regrets. I learned with the time new things about Korea and my love for this country continue to grow. By the way I am from Tahiti! You do not know where it is! Then look how far and big is the influence of Korea; even in the lost islands of the South Pacific we know South Korea! I love Korea!

Why is it so low? Everyone's so friendly and it has amazing food! And, by the way, to the people who are stereotyping everyone, guess what? In the two months I've been in South Korea (and by I way I'm Korean) and no one I've met had plastic surgery and everything. Plus, let me add that Japan was very, very cruel to Korea, in case you haven't studied Korean history. I haven't seen many looking down on China, but I think it's because of all the air from Chinese factories coming into Korea, making the air quality very bad. So please study up first. I am not saying it is good to look down on nations, it is very bad. But just saying to learn some perspective.

Korea has made great strides in the last 50 yrs. Japan had invaded and occupied Korea for over 30 yrs until they lost WW2 in 1945. After Japan's unconditional surrender the allies divided up Korea as they divided up Germany and Europe. That is how the country of Korea came to be divided. Then KIM Il Sung, a Korean freedom fighter who had fought the Japanese occupation came to power in the divided North. He, backed by communist Russia and China, attacked South Korea in 1950 in an attempt to unify the now divided Korea. The Korean War is sometimes referred to as The Forgotten War due to the little publicized fact that the US suffered many humiliating defeats and retreats. After the brutal Japanese occupation, the devastating division of a country, and the horrific Korean War, Korea was in shambles. It is truly remarkable how South Korea has become one of the richest, most advanced, and safest countries in the world through hard work and sacrifice. A marvelous testament to its people and ...more

Why the heck is it down here!?

I've only been there for 2 weeks because I live in Canada but I already love that place!

Not to mention it used to be a third world country about 60 years ago, and now it's one of the most educated, and has high technology!

It has so many places to go to, has SUCH good food and the K-Pop is something that I like to most about it. Who gives a crap about the plastic surgery and all that stereotypical crap? I'm proud to be a Korean!

Beautiful cities, great infrastructure, fun/healthy/smart people, logical laws (legalization of drugs, when will the rest of the world ever learn? ), high incomes, overachieving at nearly every sport, there are no poor people as everyone is guaranteed a house and minimal income. No corruption whatsoever. Known for Its great festivals and parties. EVERYONE speaks English, and dutch of course. I can go on for another two pages but I think you got the point here.. The most of these reasons are common throughout the western world and the regions that are proven to be the best places in the world are northern Europe, Canada, Switzerland, Australia/New Zealand. Anyone speaking in favor of an African or Asian country is just a troll, plain ignorant or stupid, or all three. Do some serious research come on Its not that hard.

Holland is of course the most beautiful country in the world. I'm not only saying that because I am from Holland, but it is really fantastic. The weather is not really great, but the people here are very friendly, always willing to help somebody, don't judge others on who they are, and always try to solve problems in the most efficient, democatic way (unlike other countries). Besides of that, we have produced big things, like our windmills and our dam that opens and closes, but small things too (like pancakes and the light bulb). So many reasons to love such a little country!

One of the most progressive, tolerant nations in the world, both in its government and in its people. I feel like The Netherlands is one of the few nations that truly puts its peoples' happiness first.

And P.S. to all the Americans saying that the only reason people wouldn't think America is #1 is due to jealousy or nationalism - I'm an American, and I hate my country. I've been trying to get out of here for most of my life.

There are friendly people, good colleges, many opportunities for all people. It has a beautiful land scape and there isn't much poverty. Also unlike countries such as America there is not as much hatred between political parties.

And on the side of fun stuff, there are many great musicians, there is a lot of watersports and other sports and it is perfect for biking.

And it has super hot girls, much better than in America...

Because of our very versatile geographical features such as white, pristine beaches to immense and tangible, explore-able forests, our country is a very ideological place to visit for amazing sights and sceneries. Unlike most other countries, the Philippines has an immense amount of resources, a lot still untouched by man. And another reason why the Philippines is amazing, is because of our people. The Filipinos are known to be very caring and kind to other people. Even as we are Asian, and the common Asian stereotype that we Asians are stern and uncaring/indifferent, does not go true for Filipinos. We take time to indulge ourselves so that we may either be of service to other people. The sense of family is one of the strongest in the world, if it weren't at the top. Our hospitality is shown in many ways to people who are in need of care, shelter, love, and affection. Another great trait about the Philippines is that our ways lead to a bright economic future. I would say that philippine people are the nicest in the world. They are very friendly, patient, considerate and hospitable. I have many filipino friends way back and they are all very beautiful people. I like their skin color a lot! I envy them their colors are very natural not so white and not very tan! And to top of that Philippines have many hot spots beautiful beaches, high end super clubs for night outs! I would say I had a very nice visit in the Philippines such an unforgetable moments! Philippines you're the best.. I will definitely go back there over and over.

I'm a Canadian I can tell you this is the best country I have ever been, the friendliest people I have ever met and also the kindest, you won't be disappointed by going to the Philippines. The warmest, kindest, friendliest place on earth and you could feel like you've been around the world by visiting this place you'll think you're in another country but it's really just the Philippines. I've been going around the world but The Philippines is the only place you won't go wrong.
