Top 10 Least Funny Countries
Some countries are known for their sharp wit, infectious humor, and the ability to turn even the dullest moment into a comedy show. Others... not so much. In some places, cracking a joke is about as welcome as showing up late to an important business meeting. These are the nations where laughter seems to be in short supply, where seriousness is the default setting, and where people might look at you strangely if you try to lighten the mood.Of course, this doesn't mean that absolutely no one in these countries has a sense of humor. Every place has its share of funny people, but some cultures tend to prioritize discipline, tradition, and hard work over cracking jokes.
If you've ever visited a country where every joke seems to land with a thud or where people take things a little too seriously, you're not alone. This list highlights the places where humor might not be the top priority. Vote for the ones you think belong here.

I think it has a lot to do with Germans not being very open, especially with people from other cultures. A typical German will most likely not joke with you unless you've been friends for quite some time. They seem to find jokes about stereotypes very funny (but only about other countries!), and I noticed that many find it funny when someone makes a mistake, fails at something, or hurts themselves.
I think they just have a different sense of humor from many other countries. Their television shows and movies are notoriously bland and unfunny as well. When I was living in Germany, the only thing watchable on TV were the US movies and sitcoms.
I do remember that when the Germans had a few beers, they would finally open up a little and be a little more funny. Maybe the answer is beer.

People in North Korea are only allowed to laugh if Kim Jong-Un makes a joke.
Who is the President of North Korea?

They almost can't be blamed for being so dour. They have had a pretty rough history. They are easier to deal with when they are drunk.
Not as serious as the Germans, but still serious. They can only laugh when they are drunk on vodka.
This Russian girl I sit next to thinks the dumbest jokes are funny. They're awful.

Same as Turkey, but not so conservative.

The same as Turkey and Pakistan, with the difference of Saudi Arabia being more open to the world.

As a Venezuelan, I must say Venezuelan humor is maybe one of the worst senses of humor in Latin America. People here really don't know how to make a joke. Besides, it is very common that people make jokes with you when you don't know them well enough to make jokes with you, and I find that arrogant.
Hugo Chavez has wiped the smiles off its people by threatening the USA with an attack.

The Newcomers

I am Turkish, and I can agree with the previous poster. Our excessive binding to our religion can end up in something extremely horrifying if you also consider our very strict and poor education system.
Many people here are also so full of themselves, so worried about 'looking cool' that many of them end up being way too boring and not someone you would choose to hang out with at all.
The religious influence makes them really serious, and they do not understand jokes when talking about their religion.

India has people from thousands of races, castes, and religions. Only people of similar kinds become funny with each other. I hate my country. It is actually the most racist country in the world. 1000% hypocrites, dumb assholes. If they do not agree, they will blame others. The media creates sad and fake news all the time.
"Now, they will blame that I am North Indian or South Indian or they will say I am Pakistani."
India's comedy and what they call funny nowadays is just dirty language and trashy most of the time.

People here have no sense of humor. Everything is centered around getting as much money as possible and getting as much work done as possible. All this is a result of the high standard and cost of living in Singapore (Singapore is officially the world's most expensive city now).
It's nice though the people are too introverted. The people usually don't make jokes, which is why I didn't get liked by my friends in 2014.

I agree because most American people just think about their jobs and always try to save them. They don't pay attention to other things like their families or travel. They have to pay attention to their jobs because in America you should work and have a job to save your house and your family. Don't you think?
Just about all Americans I've ever met love comedy films, sitcoms, and romcoms but can't seem to process any information fed to them as a joke unless it's coming to them from a TV screen.
They lack the wit and subtlety that British and Australian humor encompasses. Most of their talk shows seem scripted, unlike the Graham Norton Show.

The supreme overlord/Governor General/Military Dictator banned a sense of humor in New Zealand. NAHH JK, but seriously, Australians live under a monarch (Tsar since it's a socialist/communist state) and they laugh at everything. Most Middle Eastern Gulf countries have great senses of humor actually, except for Saudi Arabia, but they're kinda the Ann Coulter of Arab countries, very right-leaning.
New Zealanders, on the other hand, not so much. We barely have a sense of humor. General Zakharchenko pretty much banned it altogether XD. JK, he didn't, but our society is just very serious as we're predominantly of Eastern European/Slavic descent.
