Top 10 Most Powerful Countries in the World
When thinking about the most powerful countries in the world, you're really looking at more than just military strength or economic size. It's about influence, resources, and the ability to impact global events. Some nations hold sway due to their technological advancements, while others have cultural, political, or strategic importance that makes them major players on the world stage. This list gives you the chance to weigh in on which countries you believe deserve the top spots in terms of power and influence. The US is the best country in the world and will always be. America ranks #1 in almost everything. It has the best economy, military, and the most successful people. It's also known for the best sports, the best places to visit or live, and for being the richest, strongest, most successful, and most powerful country.
The US is a big country, not just in terms of power but also in size. It's not the biggest, but it's at least the 3rd or 4th largest in the world. We have a diverse population, representing almost every race. It's the third most populated country, following China and India. The US is also a popular country. Many people want to either live in or visit the USA.
We are at the forefront of technology. Our country has two types of governance - Democracy and Republic. Currently, it's Democratic, but this could change every 4-8 years depending on the election results. People vote for either Democracy or Republic. Moreover, we value liberty, and it's a free country.
The US has won almost every war it has been involved in, except for the Vietnam War, which wasn't considered a major war. We chose to withdraw, leading to a Vietnamese victory. That's the only war we have lost. Otherwise, we tend to end wars victoriously. Once again, we are #1 in military strength, economy, and as the richest, most successful, and most powerful country. There are also many beautiful places to see here.
As always, the US will remain the best country in the world, or at least one of the best. Perhaps in the future, around 2040-2060, we might rank as the 2nd or 3rd best country, possibly behind China or India. But being in the top 3 of all time proves our enduring power. So, right now, we are #1, and as always, America will continue to be the best or one of the best countries in the world.
In God We Trust - God Bless America
VOTE FOR USA
I don't have enough knowledge about world politics or the power of prophecy. However, based on my innate and common sense, I can predict that India will become the most powerful and developed country in the world, dominating globally. This will likely occur as the current developed countries become embroiled in several wars.
The main weapons in these wars will be nuclear power and advanced human intelligence. Men will use the highest levels of technology and robotic power, leading to the devastation of almost all developed countries. The USA, Russia, China, Germany, France, Japan, and the Middle East's Muslim countries will be the worst affected, almost completely ruined. This conflict will be known as the 3rd World War.
During this war, India will adopt a middle policy of warfare, positioning itself to become the most powerful and developed country in the world by 2050.
I must clarify that this is merely my personal opinion about the future world. Therefore, there is no need to spread panic based on it.
Russia has a total nuclear arsenal of around 8,500, while the USA has around 7,500. Russia still has about double the number of tanks that the USA has. The new radar jamming system on their planes makes it so it takes around 4-5 missiles to even hit the plane effectively. The Russian S-400 system can knock out pretty much anything any other country throws at them. For example, in Serbia, the Serbs used old Russian equipment but still downed a few F-16s plus a stealth fighter. Imagine nowadays against these new Russian weapon systems! The Russian Armata tanks and armored vehicles are like playing World of Tanks, the video game - just point and shoot, no calculations at all. And the recent Russian cruise missile launch on ISIS shows that they can effectively combat an overseas threat from a large distance, like from the Caspian Sea.
China is currently leaping ahead of the USA and Europe in terms of economy, with an average GDP growth of about 7% yearly, combined with an ever-increasing military. Chinese military advancements can be clearly seen in the J-20 and its many technologically advanced missiles, such as the DF-21D and ICBMs, or their latest satellite-killers.
China is also hard at work making trade and military alliances with other countries such as Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Venezuela, and Argentina. This country will soon be not only the top exporter in the world but will also be the top economy, military, and technology hub of the world.
This country shook the world. It formed the largest empire ever seen. It took on heavy losses during WWI, and during WWII, it fought alone in the darkest of hours, blitzed nearly every day. Lady Britannia was truly crippled. The Union Jack rose from the ashes and threw itself upon the French shores to free the French and again teach the Germans a lesson.
This country has a reputation no other could match. Even today, the Brits are teaching the Jerrys a lesson. What will Europe do without its most powerful country? With rising strength on the sea, we have a new carrier that will even put the Americans to shame for their navy.
Germany is very powerful from a military perspective. The Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank is the equal of the American M1A2 Abrams or the British Challenger. German special forces are also very formidable, especially GSG9, the counter-terror unit. Germany also has a lot of experience in war.
However, Germany lacks aircraft carriers or a sufficient fleet to compete with other naval powers. Germany cannot mass-produce weapons on the scale that the Americans or Russians can, as was seen during WWII. Also, Germany does not have the best soldiers, and while their special forces are well-trained, I have to say that the SAS and the SEALs are better. The reason I say this is because the SAS taught GSG9 everything they knew, and the SEALs have better tech, more funding, and more experience, having been created even before the SAS.
France should be No. 5, following China, India, Russia, and America. They are powerful and will never fall in WW3 (unless it's those four countries, and I don't think that war will happen for a while). France was extremely powerful in both world wars (and yes, WWII France fell because they got outsmarted), but they never gave up and became free. France helped win the war.
Normally, the most powerful country should be China, but it's still the USA because of its military involvement in the world and its worldwide influence. France is the European equivalent of the USA. Even if everything changes quickly, for the moment France must be at least 4th.
Japan leads the world in innovation and creativity. The Japanese have a drive to do better and help their fellow Nihonjin.
Their wonderful culture will cause Japan to leave the rest of the world behind. Nippon will rise again!
They go through so many disasters, yet still stand and fight for their future without whining. Maybe not now, but someday you'll get what you deserve.
Here's my respect, Japan.
Because of Japanese technology, weapons, tanks, and submarines are made with powerful technology.
Turkey is one of the world's newly industrialized countries. The country boasts an impressive number of tanks and currently ranks as having the 5th most submarines in the world. Although Turkey doesn't have its own nuclear warheads, it is a part of NATO, which is a nuclear-sharing organization.
Turkey has the 13th largest economy in the world, and its economy is currently growing rapidly, unlike some European countries. By 2023, Turkey is expected to have the 10th largest economy in the world, becoming even more sophisticated and strong. Turkey is also investing a significant amount of money in its defense budget and its air force, which is the 9th strongest in the world.
I must also include that Turkey will be exporting minerals and oil in 2023, which will make the country very rich and economically sophisticated. The government of Turkey will be investing the revenue from these exports into many services in the country, such as education, infrastructure, healthcare, and the military. This is why Turkey's military will have such a strong future.
By the way, Turkey is currently the 8th strongest country in the world and is voted to the 10th position on this website, so keep on voting, my fellow patriotic Turks.
Canada is powerful but peaceful. Canadians are never ones to back down from wars if commissioned by the UN, and Canada's military has always had great prowess. We have an impact globally and are recognized as a very stable and economically powerful country.
While Canada lacks military power and technology right now, we are very capable of mass-producing arms and weapons very quickly if needed. The Canadian land is also rich in uranium, oil, and other high-demand resources. Even with our small population, we'd fight until the last person falls dead.
More than 200 million people will call Brazil home by 2050, and their standard of living will be significantly improved from 2010. Income per capita will nearly triple over those 40 years.
Brazil will also be the largest economy in Latin America.
Brazil has been ascending economically and in power. It is the first South American country to host the Summer Olympics.
It is the most powerful and largest nation in South America and has experienced steady economic growth.
Brazil is a superpower and, despite its ups and downs (mostly because of corruption), it is the most powerful country in Latin America.
After the Korean War, South Korea was devastated by the conflict. However, they achieved the 'Miracle of the Han River.'
Therefore, I think that Korea has the potential to grow into one of the most powerful nations in the world.
South Korea has become much safer because of its army. They have enough military power to defend against North Korea.
South Korea has the biggest soft power in the world and a strong military.
We may not spend billions of dollars on our military or maintain a large force, but the people of Australia are among the strongest. We inhabit a nation that is 70% desert, home to some of the world's most venomous creatures. Almost everything here can be lethal within an hour. It's common to find a 10 cm wide huntsman spider in your house, and over time, you learn to cope with them.
What truly makes a country strong? Is it spending billions of dollars on machines for warfare, resulting in the loss of innocent lives in the Middle East, controlled by someone in a military base? Or is it having a nation of fearless individuals ready to face any challenge? The answer seems clear to me.
Pakistan has a large army and has been victorious in three out of four wars, even though India had a much larger army. It's the only Muslim country with declared nuclear weapons and defeated the superpower Russia through its proxy war in Afghanistan, fought by the Afghan Mujahideen. America cannot do anything about the Pakistanis double-crossing them when it comes to Afghanistan.
What we need to realize is that Pakistan is not going to fully support us in our war in Afghanistan. Afghanistan is a Muslim country, a neighbor with a large border, and shares similar cultures, food, and dress. There are also tribes that live on both sides of the border. I hope Pakistan removes the terrorists from their land, as the USA is not capable of fighting Muslim guerrillas.
I must say Israel is powerful. Its Merkava MBTs are the best tanks in the region, shy of the US M1A2 Abrams. The Israelis have a lot of experience fighting, as they have been under constant attack. Their special forces teams are some of the best in the world, only beaten by the SAS and the US Navy SEALs. For those who don't believe me, read The Brotherhood of Warriors by Aaron Cohen.
You try to ignore and belittle Israel at your peril. Stop harassing Israel. They are a strong people with the courage to defend their country and their way of life.
Israel is the only real democracy in the region.
Iran continues to flourish with its impressive dynamic infrastructure rooted in art, culture, architecture, language, music, and Islamic traditions. The economy has surmounted challenges with its oil and steel industry against sanctions that foreign countries have placed in the past. Without a doubt, Iran is also an extremely beautiful country, boasting the Milad Tower in the capital, the ancient city of Persepolis, and the coastal regions near the Caspian Sea to the north and the Persian Gulf to the south.
Regardless of the negative attributes sometimes portrayed by the media, there is a larger majority of positive ones that people in the West may overlook. Iran, in all aspects, is one of the most amazing countries one can experience.
Italy covers an area of 301,338 km². With almost 62 million inhabitants, it is the third most populous EU member state. Located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, Italy shares... read more
According to the Credit Suisse World's Top Military Strength Report (2015), Italian military power is placed 7th in the world (tied with South Korea) and 2nd in Europe, only preceded by France. Italy is followed by the UK (9th in the world and 3rd in Europe). Germany is only 18th in the world and 5th in Europe, behind Poland. See also "List of Countries by Military Strength Index" on Wikipedia.
Italy is a developed country, part of the G7 Group. Bangladesh is a Third World country, as is Spain. I think there is no comparison at all.
Egypt is the best country in the world!
In its current condition, Egypt is almost worse than America right now. Other than that, it would be the second best, right after Canada.
Egypt is sitting on a massive amount of gas. It's only a matter of time before it should already be in second place.
The dark horse in terms of being seen as a nation that has nothing to lose. It will rise in power once again and will continue to improve.
Spain was once a great empire, almost as big as England, and it is still important and powerful.
Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world.
Saudi Arabia has vast resources, especially oil, which will make it a powerful nation in no time. We can all remember the time when Saudi Arabia was nowhere, but now it is one of the richest countries, thanks to its vast oil resources. It has one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.
I know everyone hates to admit it, but North Korea is gaining strength. They have nuclear warheads, and the USA can't fire a nuke as it may affect South Korea too.
North Korea is pretty strong so far and has weapons that even Trump doesn't have.
They're not really weak. They may have outdated weaponry, but their manpower is formidable. They also have nuclear weapons, which most countries don't.
That's why America does not want conflict with North Korea yet.
They just made a hydrogen bomb.
The Philippines may be a small country, but Filipinos can stand strong at all times. I acknowledge that the Philippines is currently weak in terms of defense. However, I believe that by the year 2050, things will change significantly, mirroring our economic growth and more.
In the future, our defense capabilities may enable us to surpass others, though we may not overcome some countries due to our status as one of the friendliest nations in Asia, if not the world. I am very proud to say that the Philippines is the most powerful country in our region, Southeast Asia, and even ranks in the world's top 15. It is possible that in the 21st century, our ranking will increase, potentially reaching the top 10. However, we may not enter the top 5, as those positions are held by countries with the highest standards, including the USA, China, and India. Proud to be Pinoy. MABUHAY!
It borders Norway to the west and Finland to the east, and is connected to Denmark in the southwest by a bridge-tunnel across the Öresund. At 450,295 square kilometers (173,860 sq mi), Sweden is the third-largest... read more
Great economically, socially, and militarily. It may reach world power status by 2050.
Sweden is much more powerful than Niger and even Finland!
