1 Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia, officially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), is a country on the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia. Yep, there culture is very sexist because of Islam. The men are macho and controlling, and the women are expected to be obedient, but they are usually well taken care of (I guess) I bet a lot of the women hate men...

I have a friend who came from Saudi Arabia and I asked her if the rumors were true about sexism in her country. She replied that it was ABSOLUTELY not true and she had never felt degradation because of the laws of her country.
You see, the thing is that everyone finds it difficult to see things from a different person's perspective. People think the that Saudi men make women cover themselves from head to toe, but it's not the men making them do that. In fact those large black gowns they wear and face covering isn't even an Islamic rule (Islam only told men and women to be modest), it's more of a cultural dress. Asking a Muslim girl to take of her scarf (head covering) is the same as asking a regular girl to remove her shirt. Modesty is ingrained in their brains at a much deeper level then other nations.
As for the no driving rule, I guess that is quite sexist but I don't think Arabian girls care that much.

You know, it's a shame that sharia law is so prevalent in Saudi Arabia's government, because it shows that some religions seep their way into government, which should never happen.

Women can't drive but in june 2018 they are making a new rule and it is that they can drive but with a MAN'S PERMISSION!

2 Yemen Yemen, officially the Republic of Yemen, is a country in Western Asia, on the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula. Yemen's constitutionally stated capital, and largest city, is the city of Sanaa. As of 2021, the population of the country is estimated at 30,491,000.

A lot of Iranian men are sexist and view women as less then. Thats sad, Iran "tries" to be western at times, but its still very ass backwards there

I'm an Iranian girl and I don't really wear Chad or, my clothes are not long and I always have a lot of my hair not covered when going out.
It's not sexist just because you have to cover certain parts of your body...

We all get brain washed by the news. Iran has some of the nicest people, remember that it's not just bad in Iran. There is bad things happening everywhere

My dad is from iran and I have to disagree. when I went to iran, all we had to do is cover our hair with hijab. I don't see why that's sexist. I loved iran, beautiful country

I am a sixteen year old girl from Pakistan and NEVER in my life have I EVER experienced any form of degradation, molestation or even cat calls from a male in my country. They usually keep their eyes averted from women. I receive quality education and have always been encouraged to do so.
No, it's not legal to beat your wife in Pakistan.
No, I'm not a terrorist.
Yes their are various areas of Pakistan that are deprived of education, food, water and are full of injustice and sexism. But we're working on stopping that, so please. These insults are the last thing we need.

Pakistan as a country is amazing, beautiful and just great. None of it is sexist, only the taliban were. Malala loved her country, and didn't feel great about certain aspects, but the taliban while they were there were the only thing sexist about it. I'm not from pakistan but I still feel this

Super sexist. Let the females go to school! DAM!

I am an Indian female citizen of India. And the country is not as worse as you think. Just don't think from a what you see on internet. There are men who respect women. And women's positions will not rise up from these comments. Things will change from time to time. And about racism it's worst with people of villager area. In town people don't care about your colour. I am first offspring of my parents they were really happy to have a daughter.

India is a racist and sexist country through the caste system, and Indian men who are village idiots and inbreds that deliberately mistreat women and other minorities. The citizens and its greedy politicians have no civic sense to this day. Don't marry Indian men home or abroad. They are lazy swindling fraudsters that only marry to acquire a western passport and they are good at running sweatshop businesses with slave labour that violates health and safety laws. India is an overpopulated, polluted dump filled with perverts, and fraudsters. Boycott India as a tourist destination and boycott Indian products.

ACTUALLY, they're not as sexist as you think.
Author, go educate yourself.
Ok yes, in the PAST, India was quite sexist.
But India is developing really fast. 90% of the sexist laws that existed are gone. All parts of the country has seen how important each gender is in terms of their country. More and more Indian people are getting educated and learning the importance of gender equality. In terms of the 21st Century, India shouldn't be 6th on this list. More lower down.

A lot of old fashioned sexism here. For such a young country, America is still so backwards and conservative, it makes me want to move to Canada or Europe

The us is the least sexist country in the world. If anyone can use current events to prove me wrong I welcome it. Just provide evidence from after 1980. Whoever the 'tard is whom posted this needs to look at current economical and political stand points to see that many laws have been placed in favor of women. We started sexist and so.. however every country at one point was. We changed the most. We give women so many rights and minorities have higher employment rates because company want to seem very diverse in specific hiring minority women. Y'all need to look farther ahead than the past. It happened but move on and look at how our country has grown.

44 countries have a lower gender pay gap.
New Zealand allowed women to vote in 1893, 27 years before the US.
About 61+ countries have had a democratically elected female LEADER (president, prime minister, chancellor) before America. And they still don't have one.
I don't think the US is the most sexist country. But it is one of the most for the first world. I know you're Americans probably don't know anything about the rest of the world, especially the person who said they're "the least" sexist.
Better countries for gender equality than the US (just naming some): The UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Canada, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Brazil etc.
The US ranks behind. I'd say it's the most sexist FIRST world country. Obviously Saudi Arabia and other countries are much worse, much they're not first world.

I see people tell other people complaining about the sexism in this country things like: "At least you don't live out in the Middle East. In those countries around there, women are beaten and abused for minor reasons. Just be glad you don't live there." Like, what? A lot of said countries that these people may mention have at least HAD a female leader. Meanwhile, with over 40 presidential elections, the U.S. has yet to elect a woman to lead us.

My parents don't like how my brother and distant relative (both boys younger than me) act 'girly' when all they do is cry easily. People feel happy when they have sons, because apparently a son will 'bring us good luck!' (become a CEO, conquer the world, end poverty) while a daughter becomes another mouth to feed. My mum even said that we (me and my sister) could not be in the same room alone with a man/boy/male of any age. A girl my age said something about wearing dresses would make me pretty, my mom got pissed about how I didn't dress stylishly every day, saying how 'girls should know what to wear to look good!' Well how am I supposed to know? Women don't come into the world as model children, just like how men don't come into the world as bodybuilders. Just because I am female doesn't mean I suddenly know how to cook, and just because someone is male doesn't mean they are suddenly extremely strong, why can't they see that? :(

This should be number one, Have you seen the movie Mulan?
