2 Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan, officially the Kyrgyz Republic, formerly known as Kirghizia, is a landlocked country located in Central Asia. ...read more. Yes, so few people know the Central Asian countries. Some of the more nerdy ones like me ;) will know Kazakhstan, the economically best country there, and Turkmenistan because of their really insane rulers. Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are forgotten a lot. Uzbekistan is known a lot because of world history though (Samarkand is located in it), and so that leaves us with these two. Some people on the internet even made a joke which referred to Kyrgyzstan as "WTFstan" to most people.
I knew for sure that: 1. It was part of the Soviet Union, 2. It's in Central Asia.
Not sure but maybe: 1. People are Muslims, 2. There are many mountains, 3. The country is kinda underdeveloped, mostly rural (sheeps? ).
Their flag looks like a communist Xbox logo.
No...I don't think so.
Might be for those who are weak in GK or geography.

The name is a variant of timur, Malay for "east"; it is so called because it lies at the eastern end of the Lesser Sunda Islands. Mainland Australia is less than 500 km away, separated by the Timor Sea. This list is very good - most of the countries are really obscure.
I've never heard of anything like it.
This will be on the top of list because I am from Asia and never heard of for at least 22years
4 Tuvalu
Tuvalu, formerly known as the Ellice Islands, is a Polynesian island nation located in the Pacific Ocean, midway between Hawaii and Australia. It's actually sinking right now, and I have only seen two documentaries about it while we have a hundred "New York Might Flood in 100 Years" documentaries.

Main reason that no one knows about South Sudan is because it became a country in 2012 and all the maps are still outdated. I guess that could work the other way around as well, but my television in America use said 'oh there is a new country in Africa' and nothing more
Its kinda famous other than less known but the reason people don't know this country is because 1.it's the newest country and un member as it gained independence from sudan in 2011. 2. some maps are outdated and still have south sudan in ''north'' sudan. 3. medias don't really report on the country but there's ongoing war there. It's a very poor, and underdeveloped country
