Top 10 TV Series with the Best Soundtracks
While everything about this show is of the highest quality, it's no surprise that the soundtrack is excellent. From the magnificent intro to the beautiful and exciting songs and scores placed perfectly throughout the show, Game of Thrones is undeniably a masterpiece with a first-rate soundtrack.
Listen to "The King's Arrival," and everything you once thought about TV soundtracks will change. All the music in this show is so well-fitted to what is happening in the scene. It is epic and brings out all the emotion (the emotion is usually either awe or sadness).
On par with The Lord of the Rings OST.
I grew up with this show, and its incredible soundtrack is a part of my childhood. While I love Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad (not just the music, but those shows in general), they cannot compare to the beauty and magic of the sound of Doctor Who.
Words cannot describe it - it's just breathtaking. It's some of the best music I have heard. It's up there with the music from The Lord of the Rings, Jaws, The Empire Strikes Back, and 2001: A Space Odyssey.
If you ever have some time to spare, use that time to listen to the soundtrack of Series/Seasons 1-6. It's so, so good. Then watch the show if you haven't already. Then rewatch the show. Then listen to the music. Then watch it again.
I'm listening to the music right now. This is my happy place.
A beautiful score that sets the surreal yet down-to-earth atmosphere of the show. Angelo Badalamenti is a genius!
Marvelous soundtrack throughout. Twin Peaks is a cult masterpiece!
An incredible blend of the finest songs from various genres, interwoven with the stunning original score, truly plays a part in the masterpiece that is Breaking Bad.
I love this show so much!
The way all sorts of different genres are incorporated - from classical to rap, ska, and reggae - along with Dave Porter's excellent original songs makes the show very special.
There were many great soundtracks included, and the theme soundtrack was great too.
Clearly, the person composing this list forgot their hearing aid while watching BSG or quite simply never got around to it. Either offense is unforgivable given the nature of this top-ten endeavor.
If the 80-episode series seems too daunting, you are more than welcome to listen to the soundtrack on YouTube without watching the series, but doing either would assure this fantastic composition a place at the top of this list.
This should be number one. Game of Thrones is inferior to this emotional masterpiece. BSG isn't as famous and never will be. That's a shame because if you know anything about composing music, you know the amount of work Bear McCreary must have spent creating this perfect soundtrack.
All I can say is it's on the same level as The Lord of the Rings and Braveheart, and that's saying a lot.
With Dean manning the music, the soundtrack for the show can only be awesome. Because the driver picks the music, and shotgun shuts his cakehole.
This show's soundtrack was a perfect blend of songs I already knew and loved, and songs that I fell in love with.
This show has the best soundtrack of all time! I swear, almost every episode, I'm saying, "Hey, I LOVE that song!"
I'm not usually someone who enjoys orchestral music with no words, but the soundtrack in LOST is just brilliant. I still occasionally go and listen to some of the tracks on Spotify. The nostalgic value, coupled with the emotional connection to what is, in my opinion, the greatest show of all time, cements this as far and away my favorite TV show soundtrack of all time.
There are many great soundtracks out there, but the best has to be LOST. This soundtrack defines all the action, death, and mystery of the show. It's part of the reason why the show was so emotional.
Without this soundtrack, the show would still be amazing, but not the same. It helps capture the audience, leaving them hungry for more.
Even though the show isn't great, the soundtrack is fantastic.
I love every single song in this show.
In my personal view, I love all the soundtracks from season 1 to the last season.
Sean Callery and several high-quality bands created an absolutely precise mood for the best TV series of all time. It went really well with the great characters of Michael (Roy Dupuis) and Nikita (Peta Wilson).
This show should be number one! Aside from the songs selected to play, actual artists performed in the show.
Music is the most essential part of this show, and the lyrics always reflect the feelings.
Game over! One Tree Hill should be number one.
Scrubs and Smallville are the top shows to me, just going by the songs I heard while watching - not listening to the actual soundtracks.
Best soundtrack ever! It has many songs I liked when I was a child.
Every episode ending is memorable, from the choice of music to accompany it.
Sons of Anarchy has so many good songs, and the best thing about them is that they were used perfectly in scenes, making the viewer feel different emotions.
Amazing music, creating immersion and emotion true to itself.
How isn't this at least in the top 3?
One of the best in the business, no doubt.
It has an awesome soundtrack. After each episode, I have to look up the list of songs played that day.
Yoko Kanno's OST for Cowboy Bebop mainly consists of wild jazz and smooth blues pieces, which set the perfect tone for an amazing show, yet can still be perfectly enjoyed on their own.
Some of the greatest vocal performances ever to be seen in an OST can be found here.
BEST MUSIC EVER. Check out the end of S5E15 & 16, then the beginning of S6E1. I mean, seriously... Kaleo is really awesome with Way Down We Go. I can't believe this show isn't in the top 10. Better than most of these on this list, in my humble opinion.
It introduces the audience to some great music that they probably have never heard, and suddenly you are searching for the songs on Spotify!
It deserves to be in the top ten. It consists of the best songs. A very refreshing album, if you ask me.
Suits is one of the best shows ever. But seriously? What would Suits be without the great soundtracks?
The Killers, Death Cab for Cutie, Rooney, Spoon, OK Go, and so on. This show is synonymous with the 2000s indie rock movement. Also, it gave us "Mmm watcha say," and that's enough to be in the top 10.
Best songs! Should be higher up.
