Doctor Who Series 12: Spyfall Part 2 Review (SPOILERS!)

2storm After an impressive start, what does part 2 of Spyfall provide us? Does it continue the greatness of the first episode or does it flop. I will answer this and more in the review. And yes their will be spoilers.

Plot
So after the events of the first part the plane with the companions in it is crashing. Ryan notices plates with his name on it. The plates lead him to a manual explaining how to land a plane without a cockpit. When suddenly The Doctor appears on a TV screen. In a Blink like moment she has a hilarious conversation with Graham. They eventually land the plane. Meanwhile, in the weird environment The Doctor is stuck and is wondering through the forest, when She finds Ada Lovelace. Lovelace states that she has paralysis and she ends up in the forest all the time. Suddenly one of the mysterious life forms appear. Lovelace convinces The Doctor to come with her. They go through the life form and end up in 1834 at a convention. Back in the present The Master and Barton find out they are still alive. Barton goes after Yaz, Ryan, and Graham and The Master goes after the Doctor. The Master shows up at the convention in 1834 and shrinks people until the Doctor comes to him. The Doctor comes to him and The Master demands that she kneel and say his name, which she does. The Master asks the The Doctor how she got out. The Doctor says the life forms captured her to The Master's bewilderment. This tells her that The Master can not control them. Suddenly Ada shoots The Master in the shoulder. Ada brings The Doctor to the house of polymath Charles Babbage where The Doctor summons one of the creatures identical to a figurine identical to the one on Barton's office hoping to return to the 21st century. Instead they end up in 1943, France. They are rescued by British spy Noor Inayat Khan. She hides them under the floorboard when The Master comes posing as a Nazi officer using a perception filter. Back in the present, Yaz, Ryan, and Graham are being targeted by Barton. Graham becomes an absolute savage with his laser shoe and they steal Barton's car. At a warehouse Barton unleashes the life forms on his mother. Back in 1943, The Doctor is able to contact The Master using Morse Code and senses. They agree to meet at the top of the Eiffel Tower. The Master reveals the life forms are named the Kasaavin and he has them kill the spies to get the Doctor's attention. The Doctor also records The Master saying his intentions to betray the Kasaavin and Barton. The Master also informs the Doctor that Gallifrey has been destroyed, but the Doctor denies it. With the help of Noor and Ada, they help the Doctor destroy The Master's perception filter and turns the Nazi's against The Master. Back in the present Yaz, Ryan, and Graham are brought to the warehouse by Barton's car and they find his mom dead. At a conference, Barton reveals the Kasaavin are going to rewrite human DNA and basically use it as hard drives. The Master appears at the warehouse, complaining about how he had to live through the 20th century without his TARDIS. He watches as the figurine device activates, but is soon after foiled by The Doctor, Noor, and Ada. Barton rushes off stage at the conference and all the Kasaavin arrive at the warehouse. The Doctor plays the message said by The Master. They surround him and go back to their dimension which was the strange environment. The Doctor goes back in time and makes the recorded message and the plates on Barton's plane. She then brings both Noor and Ada home and she erases their memory of her. The Doctor then becomes curious of Gallifrey. She visits and sees it in ruins. A confession then plays by The Master. He explains how he destroyed Gallifrey and how he uncovered a dark secret and how he figured out about the "Timeless Child". He refuses to tell her anything else saying that was for her to find. The Companions then ask her who she is after becoming suspicious. She comes straight and explains she was a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey and she talks about The Master a little. They then ask if they can go to Gallifrey and she says some other time.

Positives
It definitely was a satisfying ending to this two-parter. It felt like a classic Doctor Who episode. The Master really showed off and it was just overall a well written episode. It definitely shows that we have a plot this year. The Timeless Child plot seems very interesting.

Negatives
Then of course we do have some negatives. It was a little bit of a step down from the last episode, but it is fine. The ending was just a little bit weird and the Kasaavin didn't really do much. They were kinda underwhelming and I hope they bring them back. The Gallifrey is nice, but it seems a bit overdone. I am hoping Chris Chibnall will bring something unique to the table this time. This season is definitely a lot better so far though.

Questions and What to Look Forward To
Question 1. Who or What is the Timeless Child?
The Timeless Child is something that has alluded us for awhile now. What exactly is it? It obviously has something to do with the Time Lords. It should be interesting on how this develops.
Question 2. How did The Master Destroy Gallifrey?
How exactly do The Master destroy Gallifrey if he even destroyed Gallifrey. Last time we saw him face off against the Time Lords he got his butt kicked. How did he do it?
Question 3. What did the Time Lords Lie About?
The Master mentioned the Time Lords lying. Especially about the founding. What exactly is going on here? It is obviously something dark and convoluted. After the happy go lucky side last year, this time it is getting dark. Which I like.
Question 4. Will the Kasaavin Come Back?
Their are obviously a lot more questions we have about the Kasaavin. I personally want to see more of them.
Question 5. How did the Master Come Back?
This is a question I expected them to answer. Last time we saw the Master he or really she was dead. How did he come back?

The next episode is Orphan 55 which is expected to be a really scary episode, so I have high expectations. Let's go ahead get ready for next week.

Opinion
In my opinion another high level episode. Already a whole lot better than last year. Keep it coming Chibnall.
