New Knicks 2019-20 Season Preview

2storm As we have all heard the Knicks have lost out on Zion, KD, and Kyrie after they put all their marbles in, so the question is what now? They have some very good young players and they have a good coach. Let's see all of this and more in the New York Knicks Season Preview.

Staff
David Fizdale is one of the best coaches they have had in a long time. He specialises in Player Development. He has decent X's and O's, but his playstyle fits the system. They have some amazing assistants with Jud Buechler and Kaleb Canales. Scott Perry has made some decent decisions and some bad ones. James Dolan is the problem. Like I mean how does he still have control of this team.

Player Progression
This team has a lot young players and a lot of them have high potential. Let's start with RJ Barrett. The Knicks have something very special with him. In terms of his game I would just say improve his decision and get his 3 a little more consistent. I think RJ has great work ethic as well and he wants to be the Savior of New York. This team needs to build around him and invest in him another than getting stars. Julius Randle is pretty much the second guy. He is a super reliable player and he can really be good if he can take another step in his game in all categories. DSJ is an uber athletic player. He just needs to work on his 3 ball. Mitchell Robinson is a defensive monster, but he needs to add more variety on offense. Kevin Knox is a steadily improving player. While I don't think he will have any star type role this year he can move towards it. I think the Knicks have practically given up on Frank Ntilikina which is very unfortunate.

Strengths/Weaknesses
Strengths: Defense, Offensive Identity, Coaching, Versatility, and Underdog Mentality.
Weaknesses: No real Platform, Veteran Leadership, Inexperience, Motion Offensively, and Bigs

Improvements
How would I fix the New York Knicks? I would probably attempt to get as many young assets as possible with some of these older guys like Taj Gibson, Wayne Ellington, and Marcus Morris. All these guys are proven and could be packaged for some good young players. Otherwise I mean the Knicks just needs to improve this nice core they have.

Predictions
The Knicks are a tough team to predict. I will go with a 25 to 30 win season. I think they have a nice core, but they are not ready to contend yet.

Well that wraps it up. Up next are the Charlotte Hornets.
