Unpopular Opinions from Metalheads
I wouldn't say that it straight up sucks as it does take a lot of talent to play, but if I were to be truthful, I'm not a huge fan of it. I just find the growls and downtuned riffs to be unappealing and it's sometimes too heavy for me. I do really enjoy melodic death metal as well as some of the classics like Death though
Depends on the band. Bands like Death and Dark Tranquility are good but bands like Cannibal Corpse and Deicide suck.
I agree...I never really got into it. Most of it sounds like garbage (to me).
I can’t deny the amazingly complex instrumentals from the genre and the talent of the instrumentalists, but I don’t like the vocals (same goes for all extreme metal except thrash and speed metal which has both good vocals (thrash’s are good most of the time) and instrumentals).
Actually many metalheads hates black metal for giving all of heavy metal the label as "satanic"
Depends on the band for me.
It really does.
for glam metal, it depends on the band. Bon Jovi are definitely not a metal band and neither are Warrant, but Motley Crue's early albums and WASP can be classified as metal. as for nu metal, it is real metal whether you like it or not even if it sounds nothing like Iron Maiden or Metallica
I agree. If a band decides to incorporate elements from genres that are not metal it doesn't make it less metal
I count them as metal even though I don't like glam metal. But my most unpopular opinion is that I like nu metal.
I agree with this. Just because some bands are softer doesn't mean they are not metal.
My biggest mistake is not going to their concert in my area last year, especially since it's their final tour before they disband.
They're not bad. Just think that they're too repetitive in their songs. Still respect them as a band
No, Slayer is a good band. Most of their music is great.
Slayer is good.
Strongly disagree. There's too much generic and dumb crap nowadays in pop and rap.
I will have to strongly disagree with this one. Lol.
Depends on the band really. Bands like Slayer and Kreator would indeed count as Extreme Metal but bands like Metallica and Antharax aren't Extreme Metal at all.
I'm not a huge fan of their Knives and Pens, when they were too much with the emo. But they have been somewhat improving since then. Andy's voice is rather mediocre, not gonna lie, but Jake Pitts is a pretty good guitarist.
Terrible band.
All three are amazing
I like this album to be honest
Both are really good, but a lot of modern metal bands fail to stand out and just sound generic.
I disagree. Not all modern metal is bad, but I go back to the classics more often
I wouldn't say a good band, but their songs are kind of lit. Cheesy, but lit.
Deep Purple did more for inventing metal. They had a heavier sound that was more considering the roots of metal than Black Sabbath.
Overall, I'd say this is true.
I can see why people enjoy it, but it's honestly not my cup of tea. It sounds kind of cheesy and annoying in my opinion.
it could sound weird, but despite Iron Maiden being one of the most critically acclaimed metal bands ever, I honestly don't like their music at all, just like most of NWOBH (which I think is the most overrated metal subgenre). I guess it's a matter of taste.
I disagree with this
And at least I was able to go to their concert recently
Was a great experience
Are you kidding? Iron Maiden is a great band!
Nah, they're good.
They are rock, not metal.
Yeah, very.
PS: I meant yeah very unpopular opinion I never listened to them.
Actually this is a somewhat popular opinion; Metallica seems to be getting a lot of hate
But Thrash is the best subgenre of Metal. Although Prog Metal is close.
How could someone ever think that...
I'm more of a Metallica guy, but Megadeth can be lit too.
