Top 10 Video Games, Movies, TV Shows and Music Artists that Are Great But Not "Greatest Of The Entire Genre" Like Everyone Says
PLEASE tell me that the people saying this aren't serious
Good but extremely generic film series that is basically just an old-school samurai film but set in outer space; when it comes to the intellectually stimulating and interesting side of science fiction, there are literally countless INFINITELY better films out there for achieving that
Is actually quite plainly laughable compared to the original books (much like Harry Potter) and also has Shawshank Redemption and the like to compete with in terms of its overall quality level; if you actually go and watch Peter Jackson's documentary on the series, he even personally admits that he had no idea what he was doing
For anyone who ISN'T ridiculously into this band:
Name ONE album from them that you actually LIKE unironically besides OK Computer and The Bends (and, stretching, MAYBE Kid A and IN_RAINBOWS)
That, and also, they are nowhere even near the most experimental band to ever exist (seriously, Velvet Underground and the like are a thing too, you know, and also existed LONG before this band ever did); much of their so-called work, in fact, sounds as if it was directly plagiarized from other bands, and in quite a few cases, it actually kind of WAS
Examples:
Their Pablo Honey, Bends and Computer albums are respectively blatant ripoffs of the general music styles for Nirvana/StoneTemplePilots, R-E-M and Pink Floyd
The song Karma Police is heavily based off of Sexy Sadie from The Beatlles, and its usage of the phrase "I lost myself" was probably a direct rip from R-E-M's Pop Song 89 as well
The background melody for No Surprises is basically just the intro to Smashing ...more
Even among Miyazaki works themselves, Princess Mononoke and Floating Castle are pretty huge competitors to this movie to say the least; don't even get me STARTED on how much Akira COMPLETELY blows this one out of the water either
Great game for its time but arguably not even as good as Final Fantasy VI in my opinion
(for the record, both are absurdly overrated and completely broken games)
Don't get me wrong; the graphics, sound and especially atmosphere for this game are all UNBELIEVABLY top-notch...however, its absolutely amazing ROM hacks aside, it's quite frankly a ridiculously short game that relies far too heavily ON its graphics and really hasn't aged very well in terms of level and ESPECIALLY game design when compared to most of its genre's newer offerings
Easily one of THE most memorable cinematic experiences I've EVER had with a game, don't get me wrong, but as an actual GAME and not a movie (NOTE: Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI also kind of suffer from the exact same problem), it's merely good and not actually great
In terms of what the best OVERALL indie game is, Shovel Knight and Axiom Verge (for one thing) would REALLY like to have a word with this one
And even in Undertale's "quirky parody RPG" genre alone, Lisa and OFF are both extremely underrated AND independently developed gems that got completely overshadowed by it
Sorry, Minecraft, Castle Crashers, Cuphead and PUBG, a game whose music is the best part is surely the best Indie game!
Of course it’s The Beatles that get this shade. If y’all like your music, you have John, Paul, George and Ringo to thank. They’re the ones that changed music from short simple love tunes to inventive introspective masterpieces in the span of only 8 years. Queen’s great but their early hits are definitely homages to what The Beatles layed out in the late 60’s. And whereas Queen got watered down as they got more famous, The Beatles got more technical and inventive as they became more famous. Queen went from March of the Black Queen to Invisible Man. The Beatles went from Love Me Do to A Day In The Life.
Mixture of rock and pop.
Yellow submarine?
It's good from the clips I've seen (and the manga chapters I've read) of it but the first three seasons of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, ViVid Strike!, Cardcaptor Sakura, and HeartCatch Precure all are better shows than it in my opinion.
Phil Collins is better
With their first two albums, Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning reaching underground success, their third effort, Master of Puppets has since become one of the most important heavy metal albums ever, as it became the first thrash metal album to be certified platinum. The title track has since become the band's most played song live. ...read more.
