RRF: Logan Paul's Horrible Video

RoseRedFlower Viewer Discretion is Advised. I will be covering topics such as suicide. If you are uncomfortable with such themes, please don't read ahead.
2018 has already started off horrible. Now, I've never been a big fan of Jake Paul or Logan Paul. They're content doesn't appeal to me at all. It's supposed to appeal to younger teens. But the video Logan Paul posted today was absolutely disgusting.
Now before we begin there's something I need to inform you all. I don't leave out comments and let them remain because I believe everyone has a right to say what they want. Even if I agree with them or not. But in this case, I'm going to watch the comments like a hawk. If I see anything that's hateful or unnecessarily vile, I will not upload your comment. That is a promise.
Logan Paul vlogged himself going to Aokigahara, the Japanese Suicide Forest. He filmed himself walking through the forest and discovers a real dead body.
Now anyone with any sane mind would have shut off the camera's, called the authorities and maybe would have talked about it a few days later. Logan didn't do that at all. Him and his friends filmed the dead body, make tasteless remarks about the dead body, joked around the dead body and the vlog they uploaded was monetized. So they profited off of the dead body.
I can't believe, this happened. I'm am genuinely upset that this happened. They made views off of someone's last moments of life in the most terrible way you could think of.
The one comment that made me cringe most was when he exclaimed: Whoa! Check out the hand! It's all purple and black!
I wanted to vomit at what I saw. I tolerate a lot of things in this world but I couldn't do it for this. To think that filming a dead body was a way to spread awareness and help those who are suicidal is unacceptable.
His intention was apparently to aid those who were struggling with suicidal thoughts but how is showing a dead body going to help them? I've witnessed suicide in my life. It is one of the most tragic things you can ever witness. I couldn't even finish watching the video he made and forced myself to watch a censored version just so I can talk about it.
My husband Erik is Japanese. His family in Japan are the nicest people you could ever meet. How dare Logan Paul blatantly disrespects the Japanese culture with his immature content.
It is even against Japanese law to film a dead body found in Aokigahara, I know this and have never been to the forest myself. But it's just common knowledge for people in Japan. Like how you're supposed to take off your hat for the National Anthem in America.
Now I tried to look at why his fans thought this was okay and they're reasons aren't valid at all.
He's only 22.
So? 22 legally means he's an adult. He can drive, he can drink, he can gamble and he can vote. He's old enough to make adult decisions.
He's made one mistake, we can't just harass him for one tiny mistake.
This isn't one tiny mistake though. This is someone's life we're talking about. When I visited Japan I made sure that I followed every single rule. Even the rule where you can't yawn in public because it's disrespectful. He didn't just yawn in public though, he made a video about someone who committed suicide and decided it was okay to film it.
And the sad part is that he's not sorry about doing it, he's sorry about getting in trouble for it. Only after celebrities and big Youtubers started calling him out for it, did he finally take down the video. People like Aaron Paul, Sophie Turner, Phillip DeFranco, Ethan Klein, etc.
I know he doesn't care about what he's done. He's made it so obviously clear and in the video, he tagged "comedy" into that very same vlog. He added comedy, about a video in which he found a corpse. I've never wanted YouTube to shut down a channel so badly but now I do.
But the sad part is that he won't get in trouble for it. His family is rich, YouTube clearly supports him and his brother and his fanbase of twelve year olds still love him. And I know YouTube supports him because Logan Paul's video was reported and YouTube manually reviewed it. They left it up without any age restriction. And people who have re-uploaded the video have gotten it removed because of graphic content. It is truly a sad world we live in where people like Logan Paul can get away with stuff like this and not suffer and heavy losses. I've always believed in second chances but there's a line that you can't cross for those second chances. And that is one of them.
The best thing we can do is actually do some real good. I've donated 50 US dollars to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention like Markiplier did. That's how you turn such a travesty into a blessing. By doing more than what is expected of you. And if you are struggling with suicidal thoughts, please call someone for help. I'll leave some phone numbers for my American friends in case you are struggling with suicidal thoughts. Thank you for listening to my rant.
