Team Fortress 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Halo 3, Portal, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, Half Life 2: Episode 2, The Witcher, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, God of War II, The Simpsons Game, Drawn to Life, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga - the list just goes on!

Super Mario Galaxy, Team Fortress 2, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, and so much more.

It's the best year of my life and gaming life. Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario and Pokémon Diamond/Pearl were the best games that year.

2 1998

The absolute peak of video gaming. Just like 1939 for cinema. Ocarina, Metal Gear Solid, Pokemons, Half Life are the basis for all their respective genres.

My favorite game ever, metal gear solid releases this year.

Ocarina of Time is the best game of all time!

1. The greatest handheld of all time, The Nintendo DS was available in tech stores and online stores.

2. Roblox was made but only in it's Alpha stage. (It was also named DynaBlocks at the time but then they changed the name to Roblox)

3. The PSP is released.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and some great games, honestly every game was great in 2004. But 10 years later in 2014 its sucked hell.

Games with complicated plot that were much ahead of its time.

Skyrim, Dark Souls, Arkham City, Portal 2, Minecraft (full release), L.A. Noire, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Fight Night Champion, Mortal Kombat, Witcher 2, the Binding of Isaac, Super Mario 3D Land and Limbo. The first 3 alone make it the best year for gaming ever in my opinion.

Minecraft took the world by storm, the 3DS was like a portable IMAX theatre for video games, and who can forget Skylanders rising in popularity. This was such a good time in gaming, Anti-Gamer Gate was non existant, and Reddit was rising in popularity.

A ton of great gamecube games. Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart Double Dash, Melee. Sonic Adventure on dreamcast. Those were my favorites. Other awesome games were GTA3 and halo. Xbox was released.

2017 is without a doubt the best year in all of gaming for me (until another year detrones it). The ammount of great games that came out this year is outstanding. Zelda Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Hollow Knight, Crash N Sane Trilogy, Super Mario Odyssey, Cuphead, A Hat in Time, Doki Doki Litterature Club, Sonic Mania, Metroid Samus Returns, and even Pokemon USUM which I really liked. Simply put, this year was amazing for video games, and I haven't even played all of them.

Literally every console brought their all this year, including the release of the Switch, the biggest resurgence of a company in between consoles. BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Cuphead, Sonic Mania, RE7, Wolfenstein 2, Persona 5, PUBG, Horizon Zero Dawn, NieR Automata, Doom, Hollow Knight

Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart wii, Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto 4, Call of Duty World at war. And this is only one of the many awesome games on this year.

This was a good year Fallout 3. Grand Theft Auto 4, Littlebigplanet, Call of Duty World at War, infamous, and many more too.

Wii came out. Mario games for Wii was released.

It was Counter Strike's evolution! Come on counter strike fans let's put this on the top! Remember this was the start of evolution and road to Counter Strike Global Offensive!

Super Smash Bros was released, this was the start of a great series

Here's my opinion/timeline:

1999: Born
2000 - 2003: Awesome years! Best games, best movies, best music and best T.V. shows, of the early 00s
2004 - 2007: Great years! But not as good as the earlier years, but still had a great childhood.
2008 - 2012: These years were okay, Things were starting to change a lot.
2013 - 2014: Bad! Things were starting to suck.
2015 - 2016: Awful! Things were getting worse.
2017 - Present: $#! tty music, movies, T.V. shows, etc.

Fortnite got released 2017 guys. This year has God of War, RDR 2, Spider-Man Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and one of the best E3s!

Rdr2, God of War, Spider-Man, Ac Odyssey, Far cry 5, Detroit become human... seriously do I have to say anything else

Super Mario World came out that year and it remains one of my favorite games of all time

Honestly an amazing and underrated year for gaming. I'd even say Sonic 06 was a highlight, sure it was hated but that's because the game got rushed, otherwise it would've been amazing as it had a great concept, fantastic soundtrack and would've been Sonic Adventure 3 essentially.

On September 1st of this year, ROBLOX has it's final release online after finishing it's late beta stage in early 2006.
