Ha! This makes me laugh! Who's the idiot who put him on the list? Please I wanna know, Are you kidding? Did you put him on the list as a joke? Or to see all the comments of people agreeing with you saying: "Oh my god! I'm a stupid teenager and I LOVE Lil Wayne! " Pffft, please. If this is the best people can do than music is dead, Where did Rock'N'Roll go? If you're pissed reading this look up "Led Zeppelin" On spotify or pandora, you'll realize that rap is utter garbage like the rest of us did, and if you don't agree than I'll be the first to tell you... You're musically illiterate.
One of my favorite lyrics from this genius:
"Her mouth is like my house, so you can say I'm coming home."
He lived from 1848-1929, so he is not well known today. However, it is estimated that throughout his life he wrote the lyrics to over three thousand popular songs. In terms of lyricism, that places him among the best. One of his most popular songs was 'Danny Boy'.
This man is not only the most underrated rapper ever, he is also the best lyricist. HIs collaborations with Nas are exceptional as well as his solo work, which has sadly never broken into the mainstream. This man is a genius.
Tech N9ne, like Eminem, has many brilliant lyrics out there. Being the number one independent rapper in the world, also owning the number one independent record label Strange Music, Tech is definitely one of the best rap artist in the phase of mankind. Tech can get pretty lyrical, for example, the following songs: I'm Not a Saint, Nobody Cares, Low and Nobody Cares are one of many great lyrical songs by Tech N9ne. If you listen carefully to his lyrics, I'm pretty sure you will agree with me.
John has deceptively simple lyrics. But there is some magic about them.V 1 Comment
Tragically underrated on this list! Should be up there with Springsteen!
How come nobody talk about that great artist, it always amazed me. So deep, so full of heart, an amazing guitarist, an amazing songwriter, every chris's songs could be hits, he was such a great melodist, one of the greatest for sure.
Read them and make your own decision but it is clear he is/was way ahead of anybody on the list. Should be number 1 by a mile.
Very underrated lyricist, Yes I'm talking about the bassist for "Motley Crue". Believe it or not, He's the soul lyricist for Motley. The only thing better than his bass playing is his lyrics, yes sometimes Tommy, Mick, and Vince help write a song, But every song I know of Sixx was involved in the lyric writing process.
Izzy Stradlin wrote a bunch of lyrics for Gn'R, Usually the whole band sits down and writes together, but Izzy And Axl Do most of the writing, That I know of. Although I believe that Axl is a great lyricist, Izzy deserves to be mentioned too. (I'm pretty sure he wrote "Patience")
None of these can touch Mark Smith.
"saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand"...do opening lines get any better than that?
