Greatest Songs of the 70s

The Contenders: Page 3

41 Piano Man - Billy Joel Piano Man - Billy Joel

Why is this not in the top ten? OH my gosh, so much emotion behind it... The piano is so amazing that it feels like its new every time.

This is one of my favorite songs and it really got me into 70s music. - gamingfoeealzs

The 70s saw so many great hits, but this is easily one of the most memorable, recognizable songs.
I'm amazed it's so low on the list. It's powerfully emotional and should be at least in the top 20.

44 Time - Pink Floyd Time - Pink Floyd

"Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way"

Time is one of the most meaningful songs I've ever listen to. The song has a very deep message. That eventually you'll run out of time. This song deserves to be in the top 10.

This song has so much meaning behind it. The song shares a very deep message. That eventually we will all run out time.

This song inst just one of the best songs of the 70's, its one of the best songs EVER. This definitively deserves to be in the top 5!

And then one day you find.. ten years have got behind you.. no one told you when to run.. you missed the starting gun!
And you people missed that "Vote" little button on the right of the song's title.
Time is just TIMELESS! - mba

45 Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love - Van Halen Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love - Van Halen
46 Bat Out of Hell - Meat Loaf Bat Out of Hell - Meat Loaf
47 Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) - Don McLean Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) - Don McLean

One of the greatest song writers who ever existed.
One of the most inspirational songs.
This song shows us that although vincent suffered with mental illness we must not remember this in his legacy but look at the beauty he created even though he suffered with an illness. He was a misunderstood soul who believed that living in this world was no longer worth it. He must respect and honor his beauty. We thank Don McLean for giving us clear insight into the life of this troubled soul.

This was one of my favorite songs. I don't understand why its not at least on top 10 I think this song is a song that we can call: One of the very best.

This is arguably the most iconic song of all time. And that brings the question up : WHY IN THE GOOD NAME OF GOD IS THIS SONG AT 57?

59 I Want You to Want Me - Cheap Trick I Want You to Want Me - Cheap Trick

Classic song from a classic band. It's been covered by a lot of people from (ech! ) Bon Jovi to (ugh! ) Lindsey Lohan. Now that tells you the song's appeal. - FearlessFreep
