Martin Canine's Top Ten Most Listened To Songs of This Week (September 24th to 30th, 2018) According To His Smartphone

I know, it's already Tuesday, but still... here are my most listened to songs of last week.

This time, they solely consist of three artists.
The Top Ten
1 Wish You Were Here - Rednex

Such a beautiful ballad.
A pity it wasn't a hit in the US, while over here it was massive, bigger even than "Cotton Eye Joe".
Also: why this album cover?

2 Lied vom Leben - Xavas

More specifically, the hidden track that follows afterwards. While it centers around stupid conspiracy theories, it's musically great.
Xavas are Xavier Naidoo and Kool Savas.

3 The Spirit of the Hawk - Rednex

Another great song by Rednex, that was a top 3 hit in many countries. Boy, I'm really happy I rediscovered the group through my list.

4 Cotton Eye Joe - Rednex

Yeah, this one should be known to everyone, as it even was a moderate hit in the USA. Not as big as it was in Europe, but still.

5 Selfmade Endbosse - Kollegah & Favorite

Just an entertaining show of antisocial but technically great fun rap by two really good MCs.

6 Weg nach oben - Favorite, Kollegah, Shiml & Slick One

Not a fan of Rizbo's productions, but this beat is just awesome.

7 Dieser Weg - Xavier Naidoo

Rightfully a major German hit, a beautifully poetic song about going your own way even though everyone may not be by your side.

8 Ernten was man sät - Xavier Naidoo

Xavier Naidoo is one of Germany's foremost and most popular music artists of his generation. And his German language debut in the late 90s already contained songs as great and soulful as this.

9 Ghettosuperstars -Kollegah & Farid Bang

Nothing to say. Just a dark, agressive German gangsta jam.

10 Old Pop In an Oak - Rednex

Now, listening to the lyrics, it sounds much like a self parody. Musically it's similar to "Cotton Eye Joe", but while that song had normal lyrics about a woman having an affair, this one has purely comical ones.
