Top 10 Best Female Drummers in Rock and Metal
You know that feeling you get when you see someone totally defying expectations? That's the thrill I get watching women absolutely crush it in rock and metal, especially when they're behind the drum kit. It's powerful, it's inspiring, and it's undeniable. There's just something captivating about the raw energy and intensity of women playing hard and heavy music. Maybe it's the contrast between the delicate and the fierce, or the way they shatter stereotypes with every beat. Whatever it is, it's impossible to ignore. And when it comes to female drummers in rock and metal, the talent pool is deep.

Multi-talented: kick-ass drummer, great singer, generational songwriter, overall great visionary. The only reason she's not considered not just the greatest female drummer but one of the best ever, is because she's relatively unknown.
There are other technical drummers (which she's good at as well), but she plays a distinct groove while hitting the drums hard and laying down melodic breakbeats, often mixing funk, metal, and punk so seamlessly that many don't notice. All while singing better than most band's lead singers.
There's nothing she can't do.

She plays technical thrash metal for Wolf Spider, a metal band from Poland.

I have never seen any other woman play as heavy or hard, but very precisely, with great control, tempo, and versatility. For metal, she's a monster. Don't let her size fool you. Linda McDonald is the best female rock and metal drummer, hands down! And what's crazier is she outburps me.
Pretty much my favorite drummer, male or female. Whenever I get to hear her, I am always very happy, and when I don't get to, I am unhappy. I prefer being happy, so hopefully, I can keep going with that.
She drums for The Iron Maidens.

A true legend - 20+ years in the business.

Kate is one of those drummers who is unpretentious and uninhibited in her performances. She doesn't go for a lot of flash and show, just hard-hitting and really into what she is playing at the time. Her fills are perfectly timed and placed, and she's the driving force behind her band, The Sixsters.
I have been following Kate and The Sixsters for several years now, and I must say that though she was a talented prodigy from 8 years old, she has grown into a top-notch, multi-talented force to be reckoned with. I will continue to watch her and her band grow, and I believe they are going to become one of the best (if not the best) bands globally. The Sixsters simply rock!

She drums for melodic death metal bands Blackguard and Karkaos. This girl can play death metal blast beats.

Drummer of Crucified Barbara.

Drummer for metal band Kittie (heavy metal, death metal, alternative metal, nu metal).
Her skills for groove are always impressive. Go stream "We Are Shadows," really good.

She's changed my life in a great way. She's inspired me to play drums and live life to the fullest. I can't find words for how much I love her. She's got a beautiful voice as well as great drumming skills. She rocks it.
She doesn't just play drums like other drummers. She sings at the same time! That's pure talent. Her personality is the best, she's inspiring, and I love how she talks about her faith. She plays in my favorite band (obviously), but she's the best. Her vocals in every song are beautiful. Jen is one amazing person, my favorite musician of all time. P.S. she's so pretty too!
She plays technical death metal for Embodied Torment.
The Newcomers
I have followed her work in Band-Maid (and before) and seen her develop power and precision in a band that explores many forms of rock from mild to wild and alt to prog. She knows what works for each song and stretches her skills to excel at it constantly.
In late 2016, Jimmy Page asked for a photo with her and was very complimentary after witnessing her performance. Speaking of a person who knows some things. Eight years later, she is lightyears above that.
Versatile, exciting, and very technically proficient drummer for Band-Maid. She excels in virtually every hard or heavy rock style.

Crypta is awesome. Got to meet this woman before a show once, super nice.
Unleash the Beast! Haruna is known for amazing fills and consistent hammering double pedal work throughout each 5-6 minute long song for nearly 2-hour concerts. Her stamina is amazing to witness, and her power is unmatched. "Little Big Engine" is simply unstoppable.
She drives the ultra-fast pace of Lovebites' speed-thrash-power metal combination with accuracy and intensity. She plays great songs in "Thunder Vengeance" and "Glory to the World" in absolute Beast-Mode. Then, to have my mind blown away once again with their newer "Dissonance" and "Soldier Stands Solitarily," it's incredible.
I've never seen a drummer play so fast yet look like they're barely moving. No wasted motion whatsoever. She is a beast behind the kit.
Heard her last year when she was with Liliac, filling in for Abigail Cristea. Wow!
Drummer of Conquer Divide. Recently been to her shows. She is amazing.
