The Top Ten
She is my most favourite Queen of Guitarist. Hope I can bring her to KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia... For a concert... To honour her amazing skills... She is awesome with lots of experience and confidence when on stage. She really rocks...
Only 4% votes? She's literally the only singer on this list that plays her guitar in every one of her songs and videos. Plus, she was actually going to be Michael Jackson's guitarist for his This Is It tour and she's currently Alice Cooper's guitarist! - LivLoveLaugh
Orianthi BLOWS she played beat it live with Michael Jackson and messed up all of the notes while Eddie Van Halen plays it like a pro. Also her guitar solos are just random mashes of notes. If you want to listen to some good music, Check out Van Halen. But if you want to listen to some garbage from the toilet that will make your ears bleed check out Orianthi - Gh_player
If you listen just once you have to put up at the top or close to it! I don't know how she is left off any top 10 list?
Orianthi is the best femal guitarist in the world!V 7 Comments
When Nanacy Wilson picks up her guitar... You know you're going to be blown away by her dynamic aggressive acoustic playing or her raunchy rock rhythms on the electric or her amazing picking styles. She's a dynamic persona on stage the ultimate guitar queen. Her song writing and magical voice make her a complete artist. She's been rocking and creating music for a good 40 years. If Nancy Wilson had been male she would have made "God" staus by now. Respect to guitar godess Nancy Wilson
Nancy should be number one (tied with Bonnie Raitt. )
Nancy wilson should have been 1 avril lavigne should not be on here

The rowdiest, raunchiest (in a good way) rawest rock guitar player in the studio and on stage. Her chops and chord approach were probably what helped the big boys in thrash metal gain some confidence in their early playing. All attitude and loud guitar - that's Joan Jett!
She's also one of the top punk guitarists.
Two words... Pure EPICNESS
Joan jett is a major influence on young woman in the music business
She does it good.
Listen to "Close My Eyes Forever" and get back to me. P.S. I don't think Swift qualifies. - benhos
The one and only woman on slide blues guitar is Bonnie Raitt. She's got the sound that many women try to capture and emulate. Many of blues men have hailed her as one of the finest voices and guitar players out there. She always gives us something to talk about.
AVRIL LAVIGNE PLAY THE GUITAR! I HAD NO IDEA! WEIRD. BUT IT IS TAYLOR ALL THE WAY!
Probably one of the biggest influences for any female guitarist starting out in the 80's- 90's. She is raw, real and what you see is what you get. On stage her guitar is as much a part of her as is the lyrics she sings. The Pretenders paved a wider freeway for women to travel.
And an excellent, engaging vocalist and performer. - Billyv
Joni's tuning and technique of playing was ground breaking.
Something is really wrong with y'all if you let Joni Mitchell lose against Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift.
Should be Top 5
Astonishing technique! See "Flight of the bumble bee".
Flight of the bumblebee is impossibly hard - GtrShredder
The angel and the legend of all time on earth she should b number one she is the creator of bumble bee... Godess of rock of all time queen of rock vote for Jennifer...
She came onto the scene and quickly was heard all over the radio. Another woman who can take the guitar to another level. Who else have you heard or seen make the guitar practically scream aggression. Then Melissa can take you to a slow 2 miles per hour when she picks her strings from her heart.
Sometimes I think she is the equivalent to the 12 string as Charlie Daniels is to the fiddle. Yet another woman on the list who not only plays guitar- she sings as well.
This girl can really shred! Should be in the top ten.
Hey, dumb ass, Nina is #2
OHMYGOD She's the queen of everything
When I first heard this lady play, I was instantly taken in by the sound she brings out of a guitar. She is a clean player, who I would guess had some classical training somewhere along the line. If you have not heard of Miki or heard her play, do yourself a favor and check her out.
Here is a woman who not only blisters her fingers but basically could seperate amp cones on any given live performance. She has the nic name Moanin Malone. She plays a mean slide and has a voice you won't forget. Probably the only reason we don't hear more of this talented guitarist is likely because she is an Indie artist. Check her out live if you get the chance.
Another fine slide guitarist and blues player. I foresee her getting better not only as a guitar player, but as a songwriter and singer. She is in a fine company of musicians.
When Stevie Ray Vaughan died, Tina was asked to join Double Trouble and be the lead singer. So that speaks enormously for her as a vocalist. She is a good guitarist and has many different styles of playing. Another Indie artist that should be getting air play on radio.
When I first saw this woman perform live, I believe my jaw stayed on the floor most the show. I was blown away. Melissa plays with a fierceness (if you will) that takes you by the scruff of your neck and demands your attention. She is a fast player and will amaze you with her tenacity on stage. She breaks a lot of strings but usually has a short good story to entertain you while she is changing strings. She played for almost two hours the first time I went to one of her gigs - without stopping once - for a drink of water or anything. She is another singer and another Indie artist. Check her out.
With Becky's amazing Strat playing and heartfelt vocals and many amazing talents, is no wonder she was recently inducted into the Music Hall of Fame in Texas. Her concert following her induction was validation why she was personally had picked by Michael Jackson for his historical Dangerous Tour. She is hands down one of the very best Guitarist I have ever Wittnessed and certainally has earned a spot on this list!
Donita sparks should be 2 on the list no doubt about it and nancy wilson 1
She was as Good if not better then tom petty one of the greatest he even Said she was amazing and lemmy once Said that the nights when she was in the zone then she was one of the greatest guitarists Ever I mean I can understand how Joan jett or lita ford could get more votes but the rest of the list is a joke then again Most of the lists here are inaccurate
People forgot to put kelley johnson from girlschool what a shame
She plays good guitar 🎸 - smiler
Anyone who thinks Ayla is anything less than #1 just hasn't experienced her yet. This girl masters the masters in hours what had taken those master guitarists years. Ayla is destined for greatness. - Buggy01
