Top 10 Best Weezer Songs

Weezer is one of the most important bands of the '90s alternative music movement. They have produced many albums, each unique in its own way.
The Top Ten
1 Say It Ain't So

I think it was really all about meaning when it came to this and Island in the Sun. They both had a good beat, good lyrics, and good timing for the music, but the meaning they put into it defined the winning Say It Ain't So.

Listened to it over and over again (it IS addicting) during some of the sexiest and most wonderful moments in my life. Very little compares in '90s rock history for me... Maybe Wicked Game, but that's not really rock (remember the video?).

Iconic song, one of the best rock songs of the 90s. Just the rhythm, the beat, the intro, the lyrics, everything is perfect:

Say it ain't so,
Your drug is a heartbreaker.
Say it ain't so,
My love is a lifetaker.

2 Buddy Holly

I'm one of the few people who, after hearing this on a car commercial, looked it up because I thought it was a good song. It is. Also, the video is one of the best music videos to date.

Unforgettable and catchy chorus. The guitar riffs are also outstanding, both in the verses and in the choruses.

Buddy Holly, classic and awesome. The best song of Weezer, of course! Should be first. What's more, I'm a fan of Buddy Holly. Legend.

3 Undone (The Sweater Song)

This is the song that got me into Weezer. It is still probably my favorite. Everything was put together so well, and I could listen to it forever.

At first, this one flew under the radar for me. Then, after repeated listens of their debut album, it's become my favorite. Shame they don't make them like this anymore.

So good to chill out to. If you just want to mellow out to a tune, this is definitely a song you want to listen to.

4 Island in the Sun

This song is so great that I could listen to it on repeat for days! I love the amazing, catchy, uplifting tone of the song.

Laugh out loud, Beverly Hills better than THIS!? This song is so relaxing, and the lyrics are perfect. It also has a nice riff and breakdown. This is their best song by far!

This song has to be their best song. I think the only reason why Say It Ain't So is number one is because it was on Rock Band, and a lot of non-Weezer fans voted for this immediately.

5 Hash Pipe

Greatest song ever written! I listen to this song every day, and it always makes me happy. I mainly love the bass in the song.

Much better than the likes of Beverly Hills! How is this not in the top 3? Listen to that riff! Also, the lyrics are hilarious!

This is a very creative song with an extremely unique melody. The high notes in the verse are insane.

6 El Scorcho

My favorite love song of all time. The cynicism, the bitterness, the self-consciousness. I absolutely love the bridge and the third verse, but the song overall is flawless. Amazing. This song speaks to me.

My favorite song, not just of Weezer but of all time. So awkward, so quirky, so Weezer! The lyrics are amazing, and it's one of those songs that I wish I wrote.

This is a hard choice, but I just love the "Green Day" style breakdown. It's disappointing that "Island in the Sun" isn't on here, though.

7 My Name is Jonas

This is their best song. It has every component that is good about Weezer, and a harmonica solo! You play the starting riff to this, and all the people take off their clothes, and some of the guys... But that's the price you pay for holding that power.

It's honestly one of Weezer's greatest masterpieces. The sound is amazing, and Rivers wrote the song without trying to be someone he's not. He even makes references to the sled he had as a child. It's a great song made by a great band.

Great song. What more could anybody want from Weezer, or any band for that matter? Excellent guitar (of course) and an absolutely astounding tempo increase towards the end. It's just a fun and energetic song.

8 The Good Life

Just the utter and sheer cry that Rivers brings, you can feel his passion and emotion. I'm sure all of us earnestly and endearingly relate to it. Someone just wanting to go back... is that too much to ask?

So honest and true, we can't. And that's what makes this (for me at least) the greatest Weezer song ever. All of Pinkerton, in fact, is amazing, filled with such honest and passionate, emotional songs.

If you can't find it in your mind, or even heart for that matter, then you can never enjoy music. Put simply: you are so goddamned closed-minded. The best song ever made will always be my favorite album and song. I just wanna go back to "The Good Life."

9 Only in Dreams

While I'd like to think that at least one post-Blue Album song could be better than the Blue Album, all tracks stop here. It's so much better than any of their other tracks it's not even funny. Don't let the 8-minute duration drive you away like it did me.

Only in Dreams is the masterpiece all other Weezer tracks have yet to beat. Some runner-ups include:
Butterfly
Tired of Sex
My Name is Jonas
Perfect Situation
Keep Fishin'
Pink Triangle
Across the Sea
Undone - The Sweater Song
The Futurescope Trilogy

Just to name a few (by the way, just my opinion, except Only in Dreams, which is a fact).

10 Across the Sea

The reason Across the Sea is my favorite Weezer song is how it relates to my personal relationships with girls I love, but they will never know it. It doesn't just relate to me. It relates to everyone who has ever had a little crush on someone.

This song is really sad. Knowing another person far away loves you, and you want to love them back, but you just can't have them for the obvious reason that they are not close to you.

"Across the Sea" is such a great song from a great album. I still don't understand why "Pinkerton" was panned by critics. It's such a great album.

I was just rocking out to this song and was wondering what people on the net were saying about it. It definitely needs to be in the Top 10. It definitely needs to be higher than "Pork and Beans" - What?

The Newcomers

? Any Friend of Diane's
The Contenders
11 Beverly Hills

The rhythm of the drums is just fantastic. It gives the song most of its coolness, and the guitar does all the rest. I can describe it with just one word. AWESOME!

My favorite Weezer song hands down. Great lyrics, great drums, great sound. I just don't understand how songs like Pork and Beans, Hash Pipe, and My Name Is Jonas are higher than this.

I will vote for it mostly because it is too far behind for my taste. I mean, it should be tenth at least, but I agree that Island in the Sun and Say It Ain't So are better.

12 Pork and Beans

Brilliant lyrics and video. This should be at the top of the list! Come on, vote for this!

You might as well not read the rest of this. Just trying to get my comment quality all the way up. Okay, done!

The lyrics are hilarious and catchy, especially the awesome chorus. Definitely the best song from the Red Album and one of the best they've ever done! Good video too!

I wish Pork and Beans wasn't 10th. It has a great beat and tune to it! Don't forget to watch the music video!

13 In the Garage

I don't really know how to say this without being awkward, but this is an anthem to me. It describes how, isolated and alone, I feel safe and no one cares how nerdy or how stupid my ways are. Thank you, Rivers.

The lyrics may seem simple, but to me, they mean a whole lot more. I feel they are expressing the fact that they don't care what anyone else thinks of them. Yes, they are nerds, but they love to rock.

Come on, this is an anthem! Should be top 10, no less. In fact, the top ten should be the whole Blue Album.

14 Pink Triangle

This isn't in the top 10, and "Beverly Hills" is?! This is the pinnacle of Rivers' lyrics. "I'm dumb, she's a lesbian... We're as good as married in my mind, but married in my mind is no good." Great chorus, great bridge, it's just a fantastic, catchy song.

This is their best song. It's just so catchy, so awesome, so compelling. It's such a beautiful song.

A great story of a guy liking a girl, and she turns out to be a lesbian. Amazing song. The best song I've ever heard in my entire life. Thank you, goodnight.

"Workers Are Going Home"

"We were good as married in my mind, but married in my mind's no good." Great song! This should rank higher!

15 Perfect Situation

Weezer was one of the first alternative rock bands I ever discovered. Out of all their tracks, this song is on another level. The melody, rhythm, and vocals all make it an immortal piece that, of course, should be #1.

This song is, to me, one of the best and most underrated Weezer songs. The intro is just music to my ears, and in my opinion, it has some of the best guitar work by Weezer. Just a fantastic song.

The guitar riff is just amazing. And the vocal range is crazy. I guess I am the only one who relates to the loneliness.

16 The World Has Turned and Left Me Here

In my freshman year of high school, I had no friends except for this one girl. Then she decided to not talk to me anymore and left me hanging without any friends. Even though we weren't sexually interested in each other, I feel like this song says everything I felt after she left me.

Easily one of their best.

This song just oozes emotion. "I talked for hours to your wallet photograph." Who can't relate to this? The lyrics are just top-notch.

The guitar solo is just as great. Definitely vote for it because it deserves a way better spot than 22.

17 Tired of Sex

This song is the epitome of awesome. It has a very personal feeling to it, its melody is fantastic, and it's so unique and haunting. It's simply amazing.

To open the best album of all time (Pinkerton) with this really sets the stage for the rest of the masterpieces on the album.

"Tired of Sex" is their best song! Great lyrics and a totally great solo! Not "classic" Weezer stuff, but it's powerful and a brilliant opening to their best album, "Pinkerton."

You can really feel the pain in his voice as he starts screaming, and the solo is insane.

18 (If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To

Needs to be in the top 10 for sure. The song is catchy and pops, but lyrically it says some very relevant things about the life of a relationship, all the while matching them up with a very solid chorus.

It's a hidden gem.

I absolutely love this song. It sounds so realistic. It could be about a real relationship. It's quirky and cute and has an addictive melody that I just love with all my heart.

I will never get tired of listening to this song. I love the lyrics because they tell a story, and the upbeat sound fits the song just right.

19 The Angel and the One

This is the best song by far because it captures everything they hope to be. The words and phrasing are perfect together, and it builds and sways like no other song before or since.

20 The Greatest Man That Ever Lived

This is the best of the silly songs by Weezer. The change in style keeps it interesting throughout, unlike their usually more repetitive, simpler riffs.

I really love this song. It sounds great, and because of all the different parts, it sounds a bit like Bohemian Rhapsody from Queen.

I am the greatest man that ever lived,
I was born to give and give and give.

Love the melody, especially the piano section at the beginning.

21 Falling for You

This song is immaculate and perfect, with that sweet G riff. Its perfection, especially when played after Pink Triangle, is undeniable.

This needs to be higher! Those key changes in the chorus are amazing.

The solo in this track is perfect.

22 Troublemaker

One of the songs that can give the Blue Album greats a run for their money. Definitely should be ranked higher.

I like the personal, introspective aspect of this song.

23 Keep Fishin'

Wait, wait, why has this song just been dumped? Island in the Sun and Say It Ain't So are great, but this song is my favorite at this time! Catchy intro, catchy chorus, catchy lyrics, heavy guitar! Very Weezer.

This song has two kinds of choruses, and both of them are very enjoyable. Especially when you sing it on a journey in the car!

Catchy and classic Weezer! Should be in the top 5.

24 No One Else

No One Else is extremely underrated. It's better than My Name is Jonas. All parts are strong. I love the chorus, staying within a few notes and staying simple.

Definitely should be in the top 5. It's amazing and my personal favorite Weezer song ever!

The most underrated song of all time!

25 Butterfly

It may not be traditional Weezer, but the lyrics are heartfelt and relatable. The guitar is soothing and nice.

You can tell Rivers Cuomo definitely wore his heart on his sleeve with this one. Not your typical Weezer song.

My all-time favorite Weezer song. Beautiful.
