Top 10 Cartoon Network / Adult Swim Shows

This doesn't include reruns played on Cartoon Network or Adult Swim.

The Top Ten
  1. Ed, Edd n Eddy

Ed, Edd n Eddy is a Canadian-American animated comedy television series created by Danny Antonucci for Cartoon Network. It was the sixth original Cartoon Cartoon produced by the network. The show follows three preteen boys named Ed, Edd (also called "Double D"), and Eddy, who live in a suburban cul-de-sac... read more

Oh. My. God! I love this show! Ed, Edd, and Eddy are three of the greatest trio of boys I know! It was probably my favorite show on Cartoon Network besides Hamtaro and Kids Next Door! And besides, it's quite challenging to find a quality show(like The Legend of Korra on Nick) when there is nothing but reality shows and other garbage on the television. It quite disappointing of what the 'television media' has done. This is why I watch Lifetime movies with my gran gran now.

I like it, but the show has some problems. Some the characters are complete ass hats for no reason and almost never got a commupapance. Nazz never really did anything. Some episodes were just flat out torture porn towards one of the Eds (Usually Eddy). The Kankers were kinda annoying and over used in the first season. Lastly, the 5th season was pretty weak. But I still like the show a lot.

  2. Dragon Ball Z (Toonami)

Dragon Ball Z is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. It follows the adventures of Goku and the Z Warriors as they protect Earth from various villains. The series emphasizes themes of good versus evil and teaches values such as teamwork, loyalty, and perseverance.

One of the best shows ever. My brother and I used to fight quite a lot when we were little and this show was the one thing we could agree on. I remember sitting on the floor in front of the T.V., waiting eagerly for Toonami to start so I could watch this. Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT have shaped me for the better and have taught me to never give up, always stay true to myself, and to give even your worst enemies a chance.

Dragon ball z was my brothers child hood and many other kids too. It has Planet busters, hilarous moments like with hercules and buu and many more. My older brothers watched dragon ball z and I was only 4 when I watched this show with them. It was pased down to me by my brothers and I passed dragon ball z to my younger brother! We all love dragon ball z and dragon ball z deserves to be in 1 PLACE!

  3. Courage the Cowdly Dog

This is the most funniest yet sometimes scary cartoon of the entire history of cartoon shows. However it is becoming a bit lame nowadays. I prefer the first episodes.

Doesn't anyone get it that this cartoon was the spoof of all those stupid Hollywood horror films? The sarcasm was awesome. And the computer in the attic. Brilliant. "stupid dog, you made me look bad"

Haha I love this show it was hilarious but then actually scary sometimes! He was the best dog ever and was ready to leave in a jiff haha

  4. Family Guy

Family Guy is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a family consisting of Peter, Lois, their children Meg, Chris, and Stewie, and their anthropomorphic dog, Brian. The show is set in the fictional city of Quahog... read more

It's one of those shows that you really have to have a sense of humor to enjoy. You can't take it seriously at all. It's like South Park, only not as good.

I don't understand why some of them saying that family guy is boring. They totally don't understand what's the point about family guy.

I mean I thought the earlier seasons were okay but the newer seasons just aren't funny. I don't find myself watching this show again to be honest

  5. Rick and Morty

Rick and Morty is an American adult animated science fiction sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Adult Swim. The series premiered in 2013 and follows the misadventures of an eccentric scientist, Rick Sanchez, and his good-hearted but easily influenced grandson Morty. The show is known... read more

Umm... Why is this show getting hate? This literary is a well written show. The characters are amazing, the jokes are funny. It's a definition of original, better than all the other newer adult cartoon shows. May not seem too appealing at first... But as you continue to watch it, it gets better.

I actually thought the pilot was great- I had to pause it at one point because I was laughing so hard. This is a pretty good show, though- I mainly started watching it because it seemed popular among the Gravity Falls fandom (same goes for Steven Universe).

  6. Adventure Time with Finn & Jake

This show is AWESOME. It mixes nonsense and adventure concept. I know many people would argue about bringing the old cartoons back, but this show, to me, is the best CURRENTLY aired in Cartoon Network.

This is a show that doesn't seems to be what it looks like, because that's a dark past inside this cartoon (Mushroom War), it's so epic, every song in the cartoon have sense, and all those jokes are made for both Teenagers and Adults, I personally think the creator of this show is a total genius.

Adventure Time is one of those shows that just when you see it, you know it's special. With a simple but clean art style, great music, logical continuity, crazy but lovable characters, amazing facial expressions and clever humor, I believe this is the show that got Cartoon Network in the right direction again!

  7. The Amazing World of Gumball

The Amazing World of Gumball is a British, Irish, American, German, and Australian animated children's television series created by Ben Bocquelet for Cartoon Network. The series was produced by Cartoon Network Development Studio Europe. It features a unique mix of animation styles and follows the misadventures... read more

The Problem Solverz wasn't the only Cartoon Network original show to be rejected by Adult Swim, because it was too cute. The Amazing World of Gumball however was originally intended to be an Adult Swim show just simply named "Gumball", but rejected for looking too cute, allegedly, so it also got passed on to Cartoon Network.

This show is whimsical and unique all around. The blending of animation styles is really eye catching, and it's just plain silly fun.

Trippiest show on Cartoon Network. Adventure show and Flapjack are good. Not a huge fan of Regular Show or Chowder.

  8. Samurai Jack

Samurai Jack is an American action-adventure chanbara animated series created by Genndy Tartakovsky for Cartoon Network. The series premiered on August 10, 2001, with a television movie titled The Premiere Movie, and it originally concluded with its fourth season on September 25, 2004, without completing... read more

Samurai Jack is awesome! It is fairly basic art but shot in such a brilliantly cinematic way that it more than makes up for any of it's shortcomings.

The music and sound is beautifully epic too, just a pity the series was never finished-bring back Jack!

Chowder doesn't deserve to be on this list. Neither does FHFIF.

The old-school shows like Samurai Jack were the best. And, Cartoon Network took them out because it didn't fit childrens interests and didn't benefit ratings.

And, of course, ratings = cash.

    Duh. /

  9. Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is an American animated television series created by Craig McCracken for Cartoon Network Studios. The show premiered in 2004 and concluded in 2009. The show, I must say was very creative. I remember when I was little; I would come home everyday for elementary school and turn on cartoon network and watch that show. Those days were the best.

It's so creative that it can't even be described.

It's one of those shows that makes you wonder why it wasn't thought of before.

    A creative and friendly show.

A show which defines the true meaning of friendship

  10. Pokemon

Pokémon, abbreviated from the Japanese title Pocket Monsters and currently marketed in English as Pokémon: The Series, is a Japanese anime television series adapted for international audiences. It was first broadcast in Japan on April 1, 1997, and in the United States on September 8, 1998.... read more

The guy in top comments whoever said black and white generation has the best storyline has obviously not watched pokemon close enough. Diamond and Pearl was way better than black and white. Black and white is so stupid especially because all that iris does is call ash a little kid when he is clearly the better pokemon trainer. I wish ash would get a fiery attitude and battle her with his best pokemon and crush her. And cilan is always ranting on about stupid recipes and crap. Pokemon sucks now with black and white but it used to be THE best show on cartoonetwork

It would be alright if Pikachu wasn't OP, Ash didn't try to tell legendaries what to and if there weren't so many plot holes. Ash meets legendaries then ALWAYS throws commands at them like "LUGIA FLY OVER THERE" and "Mewtwo, USE HYPER BEAM! " Pikachu is so OP and is probably level 100. He always has to win every battle, and it's annoying. If he doesn't win then he "Rematches" until he wins. Plot holes are everywhere. One episode had an insult to Female Gentalia.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    12 Ounce Mouse

The best show ever. The animation is flawless and the story line is perfect in every way possible. So sad they cancelled it

  13. ?

    Bob's Burgers

Bob's Burgers is an American animated sitcom created by Loren Bouchard for Fox Broadcasting Company. It premiered on January 9, 2011, and is still running as of May 2026. This deserves to be higher. The jokes are good, the characters are good, everything is good.

This show is awesome! The characters and humor is great and it deserves to be at 2.

  14. The Contenders
  15. Regular Show

Regular Show is an American animated television series created by J. G. Quintel for Cartoon Network that premiered on September 6, 2010. The series follows the lives of two friends, Mordecai, a blue jay, and Rigby, a raccoon. They work as groundskeepers at a local park and often find themselves in surreal... read more

I think Regular Show is the best show ever created. Why? Because every great show needs a lazy baby character: Rigby, a crazy yet exciting character, a really evil and hard working character: Benson, a really funny obese character: Muscleman, a character that stands by silently: High Five Ghost, and usually it will need a girl or two: Margaret and Eileen. The most important is to have an awesome character: Mordecai.

Besides the characters, it needs to have a good plot. I love how it starts out as a normal day and then, BAZOOKZ, something crazy bad happens.

Thank you J. G. Quintel. Please vote Regular Show. I hope this convinced you. Thank you.

  16. Robot Chicken

Robot Chicken is an American stop motion sketch comedy television series, created and executive produced by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, with co-head writers Douglas Goldstein and Tom Root, for Adult Swim. The show features parodies of pop culture using action figures and other toys in short comedic... read more

The fact ATHF and Robot Chicken are so low is just sad. A lot of people just say they are both stupid before they have even seen them. They are both hilarious espically Robot Chicken. If you like Family Guy you will like them.

This show is ridiculously funny, even though seth greens voices are getting kinda annoying. One of the funniest shows on T.V.. Metalocalypse should also be up here.

I was travelling with some friends once. We got to our hotel room at night, and one of them turned on Robot Chicken. We were laughing all night.

  17. Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

Most of the Cartoon Network cartoons are really lame, but this is one is extremely creative and hilarious. I mean, there aren't many cartoons that feature the Grim Reaper as a main character, especially not if it's a kid show, but "Grim" is very funny and is easy to relate to. People used me in elementary school, just like how Billy and Mandy use Grim, but we both try to make the best of our lives. For those of you who are Invader ZIM fans, this is basically the Cartoon Network version, since they are both black comedies. Even so, this show is full of creativity, and shows that take risks are a winner in my book.

This and fosters home for imaginary friends define my childhood. They should take off level up, incredible crew, and almost naked animals and replace them with the good stuff!

  18. Futurama

Futurama is an American animated science fiction sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The show follows Philip J. Fry, a pizza delivery boy who's cryogenically frozen and wakes up 1,000 years in the future. It blends satire, science fiction, and social commentary.

You have no sense of humor if you think Ed, Edd n Eddy, The Amazing World of Gumball, Family Guy and Robot Chicken are better than this masterpiece of a show!

  19. Steven Universe

Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network. The show centers around a young boy named Steven Universe, who is a hybrid of a gem and a human. He lives with his gem friends, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl.

I thought this would be another "Uncle Grandpa", but I gave it a chance. It is now one of my favorite shows of all time. It has a great theme song, diverse characters (that are not annoying), and great morals. This show, along with Adventure Time and Regular Show, has got to be the best Cartoon Network show currently running.

Steven Universe is my number 1 favorite Cartoon Network show. I've grown in love with this show ever since it started airing. Shame it barely gets any airtime at all, since it only airs once per day rather than airing alongside the newer shows.

  20. Dexter's Laboratory

Dexter's Laboratory is an American comic science fiction animated television series created by Genndy Tartakovsky for Cartoon Network. It was the first series to be branded as one of the network's Cartoon Cartoons. The show follows Dexter, a boy genius with a secret laboratory.... read more

I love this show and still do I just wish it was on Cartoon Network so I didn't have to record it on my cable box from boomerang at 11-12 pm. I wish the show on now had a good story in them. At least adventure time and regular show, the best shows on now, and dc nation show hope of good cartoons returning.

Teen Titans is one of my favorite shows till it ended sadly in 2006. But look on the bright side, DC Nation is making a new Teen Titans, but I don't know about it in chibi-form. But I might find out once its coming out on Cartoon Network!

Every time I watch this show, I am always laughing and repeating their AMAZING quotes. All the characters have something funny about them.

This is my favorite show on adult swim I miss it a lot I wish they still showed 2 episodes at 12.30 and 12.45 instead of only 1 episode at 1.00

  24. Naruto (Toonami)

This introduced me to the world of anime and I am so thankful for that. It is an amazing anime and I am always watching it on the computer. I like it better in Japanese instead of in English for some reason. I think it's awesome.

This show was the first anime show I ever watched and led me to so many more. It has many different lessons in the show, has humor, and also who doesn't love action? This should be number 1

This is what made stop being a nerd. Best thing that ever happened to T.V.. The characters are awesome and the fighting amazing. Thumbs up for naruto

The Boondocks is an American animated sitcom created by Aaron McGruder for Cartoon Network's late-night programming block, Adult Swim. It is based on his comic strip of the same name. The series premiered on November 6, 2005, and is known for its sharp political and social commentary.

This show is genius and hilarious. Each episode has some deep meaning overwhelmed by comical satire and racial stereotype.

    This makes Cleveland Show non-existent.

  26. Yu Yu Hakusho

Yu Yu Hakusho is a manga series created by Yoshihiro Togashi. The anime adaptation, which includes 112 episodes, was directed by Noriyuki Abe and co-produced by Fuji Television, Yomiko Advertising, and Studio Pierrot.

I still remember to this day watching the very first premiere episode on Cartoon Network. And even then I was already immediately connected with the character Yusuke. I think it was the first show I actually felt this strongly about. English dubs, but still was decent. I would definitely recommend for any anime fan.

I love this show! Funny and awesome at the same time! I love the animation and characters. Hank's friends were funny and weird at the same time, Boomhauer talks fast, Dale's quotes make me rofl and others were funny! The episodes were great, even the old ones. Every time I see this show, it makes me want to say "I sell propane and propane accessories. " Why the creators quit this show? This is the best show I ever seen on Adult Swim!

This is a good show I'll tell you what!
