Top 10 Best Fights Between Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

There are the usual battles between heroes and villains in the movies, but this list focuses on fights between heroes.

In these encounters, no traditional villains are fighting alongside any of the heroes, and the heroes involved are not necessarily villains themselves. This list also notes the movies in which these fights take place.

The Top Ten

  1. Team Captain America vs. Team Iron Man (Captain America: Civil War)

    This is an obvious start to the list since we have twelve heroes fighting against each other on two sides:

    Tony Stark, James Rhodes, Peter Parker, T'Challa, Vision, Natasha Romanoff vs. Steve Rogers, James Barnes, Sam Wilson, Scott Lang, Wanda Maximoff, and Clint Barton.

  2. Thor vs. Hulk (Thor: Ragnarok)

    One of the most fun fights in the MCU, often played for laughs (and including a call-back to the time Loki got beat up by Hulk by having it done to Thor the exact same way).

  3. Thor vs. Iron Man & Captain America (The Avengers)

    One of the more notable interactions between the founding members of MCU's Avengers, when Thor takes Loki from S.H.I.E.L.D. and Stark and Rogers have to bring him back.

  4. Iron Man vs. Captain America & The Winter Soldier (Captain America: Civil War)

    The climactic showdown in Civil War happens here, when Tony discovers how his parents died. The battle is easily one of the most intense there ever was in an MCU movie.

  5. Captain America (2023) vs. Captain America (2012) (Avengers: Endgame)

    A very excitable showdown, made funny with the 2012 Rogers thinking 2023 Rogers is Loki, and 2023 Rogers using the scepter to subdue 2012 Rogers.

  6. Black Widow vs. Hawkeye (The Avengers)

    Romanoff and Barton square off numerous times in different movies. The other notable ones are Civil War and Avengers: Endgame (their last one actually). But I picked this one due to the circumstances involved.

  7. Iron Man, Doctor Strange & Spider-Man vs. Star-Lord, Drax, Mantis & Nebula (Avengers: Infinity War)

  8. Ant-Man vs. Falcon (Ant-Man)

  9. Star-Lord vs. Gamora vs. Rocket & Groot (Guardians of the Galaxy)

  10. The Avengers vs. Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch (Avengers: Age of Ultron)

    A bit of a stretch considering the Maximoffs were with Ultron at the time, but both eventually become heroes anyway after defecting from Ultron. Best scene was when Barton avoids Wanda's telepathic spell since he already had that happen to him in the first Avengers movie.

  11. Spider-Man vs. Doctor Strange (Spider-Man: No Way Home)

  12. Iron Man vs. War Machine (Iron Man 2)

    Many often forget how this one occurred, but Tony Stark has a birthday party, gets really drunk, and doesn't seem to care about his current condition. James Rhodes decides to utilize one of Stark's prototype armors in order to stop this, and this fight ends up ruining the party. Notably, the beams they use against each other collide for a big explosion. Both Stark and Rhodes would then use this technique to beat Vanko later on.
