Top Ten Most Inspiring Fictional Characters

The Top Ten
Forrest Gump (Forrest Gump) Forrest Gump is a fictional character who first appears in the 1986 novel by Winston Groom. Forrest Gump also appeared on screen in the 1994 film of the same name directed by Robert Zemeckis.

Forrest may be dim as a light bulb, but he sure is able to succeed. He plays ping-pong, saves an army buddy's life, and runs a business company that sells a pile load of shrimp. Possibly, he could be just an inspiration to these average people.

Yes. He is very inspiring. In the movie, it shows that it isn't all about the brains.

A truly inspiring character. That says it all.

Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)

Most intelligent witch of her age, she probably will invent spells out of this world. She saved Harry Potter and the gang with her intelligence so many times. She inspired me to become great at what I do, love, and help others because of it. She is also very brave and kind. Katniss could never have helped so many people nor been more intelligent. She should be at the top of this list.

Hermione is kind, super smart, awesome, strong, brave, loyal, and independent. She shows people many things: that she won't back down, that being pretty is not everything, and that being a smart bookworm pays off wonderfully. She saved her friends from death so many times I've lost count. She's complex and grows up a lot. I think Hermione should be number one on this list. I know because I read all the Harry Potter books, and I've read about Forrest Gump. I don't really like him. So please, please, please, please, please, please put Hermione on top. For me. Please.

Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games) Katniss Everdeen is a fictional character and the protagonist of The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. She is portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence in the film adaptation franchise.

The Hunger Games is amazing, and Katniss Everdeen saves millions of lives. Though she doesn't love Peeta at the start, her love becomes genuine later on. Katniss is kind, brave, thoughtful, and very inspirational. She has a level head and a fighting spirit. She doesn't give up on what she thinks is right.

She is a very inspirational person that I think a lot of girls look up to. She is a very level-headed girl and so strong that she makes me want to get up and make a difference.

How is Katniss Everdeen not number 1? She fought her whole life, and nothing came easy. She risked her life to save her sister. How is that less inspiring than Forrest Gump?

Vito Scaletta (Mafia)

Vito just wants to make enough cash to help out his family. In the process, he finds out who killed his dad and made friends in the Falcone crime family.

Vito Scaletta is one gangster you wouldn't want to mess with. Katniss and Hermione would be foolish to cross paths with Vito.

What the hell is some geeky bookworm (Hermione Granger) doing ahead of a war hero turned mafia made man like Vito Scaletta?

John Marston (Red Dead Redemption) John Marston is a central character and the main protagonist of Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare. He is portrayed by Rob Wiethoff.

John Marston is quite the hunter, more than Katniss ever will be. She freaked out and had a seizure when hunting turkeys. John Marston, on the other hand, never freaked out and often hunted grizzlies, cougars, and wolves without breaking a sweat, as well as making a tidy profit.

One of Rockstar Games' finest creations, John Marston was the old-school, redneck cowboy who stuck to the old ways despite jumps in technology. He would choose a horse over a motorcar any day of the week.

A trash-talking, old-school redneck outlaw turned vigilante, John Marston went through so much bullcrap from Edgar Ross and, to a lesser extent, Colonel Allende just to be reunited with his family. Not that the family reunion lasted happily ever after.

So inspirational that all it takes to become a true hero is not about being big, strong, or fast, because those things are just for support. Being a good, smart, brave, and heroic man, no matter the size, is what it truly takes.

Cole Phelps (L.A. Noire)
Beatrice Prior (Divergent)

Tris is such an amazing character. She's so inspiring, brave, selfless, smart, and wonderful! I think she's a beautifully written character because she's flawed and did bad things in her life (killing Will, for example), but that doesn't make her a bad person. I'm truly inspired by Tris's courage.

The Newcomers

? Lou Gehrig (The Pride of the Yankees)
? Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) Buffy Anne Summers is a fictional character from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer franchise. She first appeared in the 1992 film Buffy the Vampire Slayer before going on to appear in the television series and subsequent comic book of the same name.

Ella (Cinderella 2015)

Grand Theft Auto 5's Trevor Phillips doesn't take crap from anyone.

Ratonhnhaké:ton (Connor) (Assassin's Creed)

A Native American with British ancestry, Connor avenges the death of his mother against the rising Templar order. In the process, he is involved in the American Revolution.

Peeta Mellark (The Hunger Games)

That very first comment is rude. Peeta Mellark is a sweet guy, always puts Katniss first, and is always thinking of others.

Sweet-natured and sensitive, Peeta does what he can to protect Katniss.

Peeta should be higher on this list.

Ginny Weasley (Harry Potter) Ginny Weasley is a prominent character in the "Harry Potter" series by J.K. Rowling. She is the youngest child and only daughter of the Weasley family. Initially introduced as a shy girl with a crush on Harry Potter, Ginny develops into a strong, independent young woman. Skilled in magic and Quidditch,... read more
Molly Weasley (Harry Potter)

A very devoted housewife and mother. Because of the abuse Harry Potter received in his own home, she became a mother figure to him, in place of his own mother, who was killed while he was still an infant. Later, when Bellatrix Lestrange attempts to kill Molly's daughter, Molly kills her in a fit of zealous rage.

Robin Hood (Robin Hood)
Homer Simpson (The Simpsons) Homer Jay Simpson is the main protagonist of the American animated television series The Simpsons as the patriarch of the eponymous family.

Homer always does the wrong things 90% of the time, or even more. WhooHoo!

Wolverine (Marvel Comics) Wolverine is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly associated with the X-Men. His powers and abilities include a healing factor and his signature adamantium claws and adamantium skeleton.
Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson & The Olympians) Perseus "Percy" Jackson is a fictional character, the title character and narrator of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson & the Olympians series.

He's the most loyal person I've ever seen. He's willing to sacrifice himself to save people he's never even met and has courage that no other person can match. He's a real role model and never fails to save the day, no matter how many evils and hardships are thrown his way, and no matter how tired, exhausted, or heartbroken he's feeling.

In my opinion (you don't need to agree), he surpasses Katniss Everdeen, Hermione Granger, Harry Potter, and Beatrice Prior (sorry, guys, I love you, but Percy is just better) in everything and anything.
