Top 10 Best X-Men Villains

X-Men villains do not just show up to rob banks, shout threats, and wait to be punched through a wall. They come loaded with ideology, trauma, ego, and enough bad decisions to keep Cerebro smoking for weeks. You are not just picking the strongest mutant menace here, you are choosing the enemy who makes the X-Men more interesting every time they enter the fight.

Some of these villains are terrifying because they believe they are saving the world, which is always a fun little red flag. Vote for the X-Men villain you think stands above the rest, preferably before someone rewrites reality again and makes the whole debate somebody else's problem.

  1. Magneto

    Magneto is a fictional character in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is most often associated with the X‑Men franchise. Magneto is a powerful mutant with the ability to generate and manipulate magnetic fields.

    He has an ambiguity about him that is more than just evil. Rather than being like Apocalypse, an obviously evil madman, he is a questionably dark reflection of Charles. His history is a perfect explanation of the man he is. His powers reflect the modern world that he hopes to create, and he has leadership abilities.

    Magneto is certainly the greatest X-Men villain. I think he is like the ninth or tenth greatest all-around villain ever.

    This is the best X-Men villain, no question, because he has the same intentions as Professor X, but he uses force.

    What? This guy should be number 1! He is the second most powerful after Onslaught, and it would take the most powerful mutants to come close to stopping him.

    Number 3 really? He should be number one. He's the most powerful mutant ever and is the first-ever mutant. He's more powerful than Magneto.

    Did you see the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer? He looks so strong.

  3. Mystique

    Mystique is a fictional character in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is most often associated with the X-Men series and is known for her shapeshifting abilities. Mystique first appeared in Ms. Marvel #16, published in 1978.

    Eh, she's cool. And the link with Rogue is a plus, as most villains only tie in personally with Professor X or Wolverine, if they tie in at all. I think being a shapeshifter makes her the ultimate femme fatale villain.

    Oh, come on! After Magneto, she's the best villain ever! Not only is her power awesome, but she also has a kickass personality! Number 3 is not fit for her.

    I like her power. It's so awesome. She's a shapeshifter, and I really like it!

  4. Juggernaut

    Juggernaut, whose real name is Cain Marko, is a fictional character in Marvel Comics. He first appeared in X-Men issue #12 in July 1965 and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Known for his immense strength and near-unstoppable momentum, Juggernaut is a frequent adversary of the X-Men.

    A guy fighting mutants head-on and not even being a mutant? Kickass.

  5. Sabretooth

    Sabretooth literally hunts down Wolverine on his birthday every year.

  6. Mister Sinister

    My memories of Sinister are from the 90s classic animated series. A villainous figure hiding in the shadows as the cunning manipulator he is. With his dark getup, vampiric appearance, and cold, uncaring laugh, this villain was truly sinister.

    Of course. Dark Phoenix may have appeared the least, but come on, she's also super sexy in that outfit.

    The scariest/saddest thing is that she was always a fellow member of the X-Men.

    Did people forget these guys made mutants almost extinct and gave omega-level mutants like Magneto and Storm a challenge?

  9. Pyro

    Love that he allies with the X-Men as well as Mystique's Brotherhood, depending on the circumstances such as in "Fall of the Mutants." He was introduced in "Days of Future Past," one of the best X-stories of all time. He has a fun costume, awesome mutant abilities, and hotheaded swagger, as well as some emotional depth, particularly when he contracts the Legacy Virus. Also, his fight with Iceman in III was cool.

    Pyro's the best! He's my favorite X-Men character, and so is Colossus. His power is really cool, and I like the fact that he can't create fire. Pyro is so cool in X-Men: The Last Stand.
