Queen, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Duran Duran, Black Sabbath, Oasis, George Michael, Amy Winehouse, Elton John, David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Bullet for my Valentine, Robbie Williams, Sex Pistols & many, many more. In my opinion, we have always been the 1 superpower of music and hopefully, their will be great musicians for the years to come.
The most astonishing music comes from that little island.
I'll leave out the world's best bands and they still have some of the best solo singers - Bowie, Elton, Rod etc - and the most innovative writers like Kate Bush and Nick Drake. Great Britain is the music capital of the world as far as influence is concerned.
Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Rolling Stones, Cream, Sex Pistols, The Kinks, T.Rex, Police, Coldplay, Smiths, Radiohead, Oasis, Blur, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Clash, Duran Duran, Black Sabbath, Bee Gees, Eric Clapton, Spice Girls, Rod Stewart, Elton John, David Bowie, Kate Bush, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Muse, Sam Smith, Tom Jones, Jimi Hendrix Experience, George Michael, White snake, Manic Street Preachers, Robbie Williams and the legendary Rick Astley (Oh and Angus and Malcolm Younfrom AC/DC were Scottish).
Queen, Beatles, Rolling stones, Yes, Black sabbath, Take that, Judas priest, David bowie, George Michael, Duran duran, Led zeppelin and many, many, MANY more. In the 80s British pop music dominated the charts. If Justin Bieber never existed, I may have put Canada. America is falling from music grace if you look from the past to now. I am NOT being nostalgic! Sincerely a Nerd
All this South Korean K-rap is just a fad. Britpop has lasted since the 1990s.
Oasis, Blur, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers, The Sex Pistols, Kasabian, I could go on forever.
Americans invented rock and roll but the brits kept it alive. When rock was fading into smooth pop in the sixties at the United states the British invasion came to get to basics of rock ( with a new sound ) again. In the seventies we saw it again with punk-rock. Influence comes from America but inventive bands comes from the United Kingdom.
No, it's not just because I'm British myself, I just feel that the British invasion really helped music, especially when you consider The Beatles, Queen, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin just to name a few. I'm not saying that the other countries don't have good music, all I'm saying is that I personally love British music.
The Beatles, Queen, Rolling stones, Led Zeppelin, The Clash, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Arctic monkeys, Biffy Clyro, Sex pistols, Blur, Muse, Amy winehouse, Kasabian, Oasis, Kings of Leon, Stone Roses and many many others
Some of the greatest bands around have come from England (Kaiser Chiefs), Scotland (Franz Ferdinand) and Wales (The Automatic). Together they all make Britain Great. From the Welsh valleys to the Scottish mountains Britain is king of music. - mom4
I am not going to list all of the bands that came out of the UK because the music really does speak for its self. The reason I am proud to be British is simply down to the music, we are the best in the world at the thing that really matters to me. It doesn't matter how bad a day you've had a great tune can always lift your spirits. It just so happens to be that we have an almost endless amount of amazing bands, well done Britain, keep it up!
Despite being English, I have never like the majority of British music. Coldplay have talent, The Shires I like, Florence + The Machine are special, but the only British artists I truly enjoy are Keane, London Grammar and Matt Cardle. Stereophonics and Travis have their moments.
The USA dominated popular music throughout the first half of the 20th century and set all the groundwork - musicals, jazz, blues. Building on the USA model, since the Beatles in the mid sixties the UK has been the clear world leader in rock and pop through outstanding originality and invention.
If anyone hates British music, they are as intelligent as a dead moth.
The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Radiohead, The Verve, Oasis, David Bowie, The Who, Sex Pistols, Black Sabbath, Kate Bush, The Rolling Stones, Genesis, The Smiths... need I go on?
We have Rick Astley and they don't. Ha ha!
Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Oasis, Bee Gees, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Rolling Stones, Police, The Who, Blur, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Elton John, Rick Astley, Spice Girls and MANY more awesome artists.
We saved rock from dying. DUH. If it weren't for us poking our noses, it would have died around the time Buddy Holly an Eddie Cochran died (1959/60).
The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, and too many more. And I'm an American.
English Music has greatly affected today's musical society. Their great bands have inspired others worldwide, each band and musician making a unique, memorable experience for children, adults, and seniors.
While other countries can claim to have the best music, the UK should be the only one that can claim it has the most important music. The Beatles, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Amy Winehouse, David Bowie, Brian Eno, and Joy Division are among the many highly influential music acts of the modern age.
Person below is narrow minded. Good music exists everywhere and every country's people like their own music and believe its best. I'm British but I like world music too
The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Coldplay, Radiohead, Wham/George Michael, Arctic Monkeys, The Who, The Smiths, New Order, Genesis/Phil Collins, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Kate Bush, Duran Duran, Amy Whinehouse... the list goes on and on...
The Who, The Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols, Queen, The Beatles, Keane, Pink Floyd, Oasis, Coldplay, David Bowie, Kate Bush, Adele, Blur, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Pulp, Manic Street Preachers, Duran Duran, The Verve, The Vaccines, The Human League, The Clash...the list goes on forever! British music is the best! - keanelover
Most great musicians like John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, and Cat Steven come from here. Those are true musicians that I simply have respect for.
