Top 10 Games the Angry Video Game Nerd Should Review in 2020As 2019 is coming to an end, James Rolfe A.K.A. The Angry Video Game Nerd is still going strong after all these years, and is showing no signs of stopping any time soon. So, with all the games he's reviewed, what games should he review next year? There are still plenty of games out there that can give him a lot to work with, or just be entertaining videos. If there's any games you'd like to see him review feel free to add them.
The Top Ten
This is the obvious choice. James pretty much teased this over 10 years ago in his Bible Games II review. I bet back then he never thought he'd make it this far. But now 2020 is almost upon us this very much could be the first game of the year he reviews.
An unlicensed NES game released by the same company that would go on to become Wisdom Tree? What could possibly go wrong?
Edit: Yup, unsurprisingly this turned out to be his first review of the year.
He teased this 11 years ago
James has already stated his love for Contra countless times. Contra and Super C are both awesome. But what about the freak misfit of the series? Contra Force on the NES is a Contra game that isn't a Contra game, and it's also rubbish. I'll bet James would have a meal of a time tearing this game apart.
I originally thought just Earthworm Jim 3D on the N64, but then thought it would be a good opportunity for James to look at this forgotten series, and play through the games (whilst critiquing some of the more frustrating aspects). Also if James reviews this series he could try and get Tommy Tallarico to be a guest star. That would be cool.
I would like to see James play more Dreamcast games, and this one is an LJN game, so it's really a no-brainer.
A game that looks cool, sounds promising, but plays like crap. This game comes off as little more than wasted potential, and if James played this he may reconsider his statement about Dark Castle being the worst SEGA Genesis game.
I would like to see James review more Wii games (as he's now started branching out towards more modern games), and this stinker is the obvious choice. He could also talk about the other copy/paste games Data Design Interactive have released, and highlight the absurdity of how many times the company can keep releasing the same game.
One of the most infamous video game turkeys of all time, this has potential for both a history lesson, and a lot of anger and frustration.
Yo, this is also a FaceSplit song.
James already stated his less than favourable opinions on the NES Metal Gear game, but the unofficial sequel Snake's Revenge is not held up in the same high regards as any of the other games in the series. I'd just be interested to see if he finds it as bad as the NES Metal Gear.
James has stated in several of his videos that he's a big fan of South Park. Before the excellent South Park: The Stick of Truth came out South Park games were considered pretty bad. Mike Matei already did reviews of these games, but a full on Angry Video Game Nerd style review would also be welcomed.
One of the most blatant video game ripoffs of the 90s, Awesome Possum was just one of many video game mascots just trying to be Sonic the Hedgehog. And his first game on the SEGA Genesis is considered even worse than the first Bubsy game.
It would be hilarious to see how he would critique the game's glitchy dialogue narration.
Yes, they actually made a N64 game based on Neon Genesis Evangelion and it's rather medicore from what I've heard.
This has to be the most 2000's video game I've ever seen.
A bootleg. AVGN would be enraged
