Top Ten Most Evil Undertale Characters

The Top Ten
1 Frisk

To press that reset button and commit mass genocide on familiar, friendly characters, only to hold the blame on Frisk and Chara.

The truth is, it was your choice to claim the timeline as your own and put it to ruin because of YOUR own desicion. Why blame Frisk? They are only a puppet being played in the hands of none other than yourself.

Chara was only brought to life after your own hatred had resurrected them. Chara didn't commit the genocide, they were a byproduct of what you did. In fact, Chara wants nothing but to punish you for destroying the timeline for the price of your corrupted, twisted soul.

To put it simply, the one pulling the act, the one true villain is really you.

And despite everything, it's still you.

My headcanon is that Frisk did the genocide route out of curiosity, and Chara was pulled into it. Frisk blames Chara for the genocide route, because towards the end Chara forces them to continue. But that's not Chara's fault, they were just blinded by Frisk's killing and were manipulated into thinking that was the only path to take.

Everyone keeps blaming Chara. "Oh, Chara made Frisk kill Papy! I totally didn't kill him with the tough glove! " (I actually heard one of my friends say this) Dude, we don't even meet Chara until after the Genocide run. They also try and stop you in a few spots. If it was up to me, Chara would be a lot more "Guardian of the Underground"-like (For lack of better words). So stop saying they're evil just because you don't want to take the blame. Chara's innocent, but you aren't.

Ok I hate people blaming Chara for everything that goes on in the Genocide run. It's kind of like, "oh, I didn't do all this," *sees Chara* "oh look! S/he's standing in front of me, so s/he must be the one responsible! " She is none other than the person that everyone blames, when in reality, "it's you." But I guess in your reality, Chara is the villain, when s/he really isn't. Well, I'll Leave you be.

2 Chara Chara is a character in the game Undertale by Toby "Radiation" Fox who is one of the seven people to fall to the Underground prior to the fall of the player character. Their name can be changed by the player and will be assumed as the player character, until the Pacifist Route when Asriel asks for the player's name, which is Frisk. In the genocidal route (achieved by killing as many monsters as you can without sparing), they appear by the end to destroy the world, which happens regardless of the player's choice or intervention. Due to this, most people see them as a villain.

I mean they aren't really evil, FRISK started the genocide route and forced them to continue. If Frisk never did that, Chara would still be good. And actually, the only reason why you're able to beat Asriel in the Pacifist Route, is because those are Chara's memories that Frisk has with the monsters.

I feel like she actually should've been number 1. She takes over Frisk's soul entirely. And you should know what happened when she did. She was on a rampage. Killing monsters without mercy, even killed Papyrus who never threatened to kill Frisk. She destroys everything no matter how you decide, and then STEALS YOUR SOUL! She should definitely be number 1, as she is the true satan of Undertale. And then she haunts you for the rest of your time playing Undertale. If you play the pacifist route after doing the genocide, she brings you into an after-game GENOCIDE ROUTE AND KILLS ALL OF THE MONSTERS JUST WHEN THEY'VE MADE IT TO THE SURFACE! She has no remorse for her actions. She is no longer human. She's a DEMON!

Chara. Is not. Evil! YOU make those decisions and you make an impression on them. When they say "Where are the knives" they probably wants to harm themself. People assume Chara is evil because you only see them in the end of the geno route! Stop it with Chara being evil.

Chara is not evil. It was YOU who did this, YOU who pressed the button, YOU who got curious and murdered everyone, You did everything, and Chara only absorbed your Hate and ended what YOU started. In other words it was YOUR choice to do all this.

3 Flowey Flowey is a flower in the RPG Undertale. He is the first character you meet, and also your best friend.

Flowey is.. I think pretty evil, but he kinda.. couldn't not be evil? I mean, he had no soul, which means he couldn't feel for anyone, so he just pushed them away from his life. Plus, as the game said ( I think XD ) The more you distance yourself, the easier it is to hurt people. Flowey started to distance himself, and his curiosity took control of him. He say in the genocide, he wanted to know what would happen if he killed them.. and.. uh.. I'm rambling aren't I...

Hmm, why could Flowey be here? Maybe because:
He killed everyone multiple times
He tried to kill a CHILD
He absorbed your friends souls when you thought you were gonna get a good ending
And he mocks multiple people.
The ONLY good point he has is he can't really...not be evil cause he literally has no soul. That's it.

Nothing like casually murdering a lonely child who fell down a mountain into a place where you run for your life while monsters rip your soul out of your still living body for their king to consume and wipe out mankind with! (I don't care that was a mouthful to read)

Definitely the second villain because he has killed who knows how many monsters by now!

4 Asgore Asgore Dreemurr is a boss monster and the king of the monsters in the 2015 RPG Undertale made by Toby Fox. Asgore is the portrayed main antagonist who plans to acquire seven human souls and use their power to break the barrier that seals the monsters underground . Aspects of his character are hinted at throughout the players journey and his fate at the end of the game is determined by the choices the player has made.

Asgore is kind of evil. He declares war on humans and takes the souls of 6 humans, with the help of undyne and possibly some other monsters. He did it because humans had took everything from monsters, especially asgore. He lost his son to humans, so he declared war out of anger. He then regrets his actions. Asgore declares war based off anger, which is something that almost anyone would do in that situation. Really, it's the humans at fault.

Not really evil, but definitely not the best on the morality scale. He did kill human children, however, he just wants the underground to be free. Also, BOTH of his children died on the same night, so can you really blame him for being struck by grief?

He only needs 1 soul to cross the barrier... Don't you think that's a little suspicious that he goes on to kill 5 more? I personally think he is doing it for fun, no matter how innocent he seems...

He literally asked the player to live with him, he probably did this to the other six and then killed them in their sleep.

5 Mettaton Mettaton is a character in the popular 2015 RPG game, Undertale. He is a robot with a soul built by Dr. Alphys, and is the sole television star of the underground. Mettaton is a popular character in the fanbase. His notable features include his legs, and his catchphrase "OH YESSSS!"

A terrible Monster, abandoned his cousin for fame, tried to kill a child for views, stressed out his creator and never apologised. just terrible.

Mettaton tries to kill a child for Public Fame. If we didn't have the change of heart by the end of his part of the game, he might've been the most evil character in the game. However, he changes his ways, and ultimately doesn't kill anybody.

He is evil at first, trying to kill the human for no reason, but after a while, he is a pretty good guy!

Definitely not fully evil, but killing a child just for fame isn't really a good morality trait.

6 Omega Flowey

He is evil! He absorbed every being in the underground's soul, he is truly evil.

I mean I guess he's evil, but is it really his fault? He doesn't have a soul.

Listen to him laugh, do it twice, then come back and vote him.

Omega Flowey used the save reset to put you in eternal torment, by saving and loading where he can hit you. trully evil

7 Undyne Undyne is a main character in Toby Fox's 2015 RPG, Undertale. She is the heroic fishlike captain of the Royal Guard, who takes it upon herself to protect the monsters of the Underground. Her name is derived from the word "Undine", and is a pun on the word "Undying". Her most loved monsters are her mentor, King Asgore, her best friend, Papyrus, and her love interest, Alphys.

Undyne is kinda insane and will not hesitate to kill humans, but she's definitely not EVIL. I mean, from what she has heard, humans are self centered and have no compassion for anybody, so can you really blame her for wanting them dead? Also, she just wants her race free. She also steps up to save the underground in the genocide run. Finally, she really cares about Paps a lot.

Undyne has no remorse for humans, and tries to kill you. Is she evil? No. But she had probably killed at least one human before you. She just was following her orders of her king.

Undyne is just defending the Underground from your shenanigans, especially in the genocide route! The player is the most evil!

Wants you dead because you were defending yourself, I mean who does that?

8 Sans Sans or Sans the Skeleton is a character in the 2015 RPG Undertale created by Toby Fox. He is a lazy, pun-loving skeleton who is a supporting protagonist in the "pacifist" and "neutral" routes of Undertale, and a heroic antagonist/final boss of the "genocide" route. He is known for his incredibly difficult boss fight, bad puns, and the phrases "geeetttt dunked on!!!" and "you're gonna have a bad time." He is also named after the font "comic sans." Known for also being Ness from the Mother series. (known as Earthbound in Western territories.)

Sans isn't evil. He tries to kill you because he know's he's the last hope for mankind. That's only during genocide, though. He also helps take care of frisk during the pacifist and neutral route. In no way is he evil.

Sans is NOT evil. Can you blame him for fighting you at the end of Genocide? you just MURDERED almost everyone in the underground! there's nothing wrong with a little payback.

How the hell is Sans evil? The only moment when he was evil was when he was fighting you on genocide, but he had a real reason to

Anything from this point on is not evil. Even though Muffet is very stingy with her money.

9 Jerry

Jerry's annoying, but doesn't do anything at all in the game. He doesn't attack you or help you. He doesn't do anything. He's not evil, he's just some monster who is really akward and annoying.

He is The one who started this all. STOP blaming chara or Player genocide or anyone! The only one to blame is jerry! If not jerry, chara won't be evil so she won't make you such bad! Jerry is The only evil character

This monster is the most evil of them all. He's merciless and can murder you with sheer annoyance.

He is the reason everything bad in the universe happens. We must make sure we burn him.

10 Alphys Alphys is an adorably dorky, lab-coat-wearing, bespectacled, yellow-skinned lizard scientist who resides in her lab in Hotland in the critically acclaimed cult classic RPG known as Undertale, wherein she partakes in the daily act of watching insane amounts of anime and having a vast majority of the game's plot-related spoilers attached to her. Plot twists aside, however, she is also well known for creating the fabulous entertainment robot Mettaton, as well as having a massive crush on a young fish woman named Undyne, thus creating one of the most beloved lesbian couples in fiction.

Alphys isn't evil. All the "bad things" she does in the games are mistakes. She didn't try to make flowey the way he was. She didn't try to make mettaton an insane robot. If she was trying to do those things, then no doubt, she would be the most evil character in the game. But she doesn't. She doesn't try to cause harm. Not to mention, she helped save dying monsters from dying. Alphys isn't evil.

She reactivated traps (that could have killed you) and sent Mettaton to torment you all so you would think she's a good person.

Bro, alphys isn't evil. She has just made mistakes, she never intended to cause harm.

She wanted to look "cool" And was basically being evil because of it.

The Contenders
11 Mad Dummy

He fires his dummy companions, hires robots replacements, fires them, then throws a knife at you.

I hate him so much...

You would have been unable to leave if napstablook hadn't show up

He's just mean

12 Asriel

Asriel isn't evil. He didn't try to kill you. Chara toke control over him in the bad he did. He barely even did anything himself!

He wants to literally reset the world and hold victory right away from you.

Asriel is just like flowey, he lied to you trying to kill you in the beginning of the game, then he absorbed the souls to try to destroy the timeline

He wasn't always, but because of losing his soul, he did become evil

13 Muffet Muffet is a character from the game Undertale. She appears in a region called Hotland, selling pastries to raise money to rent a heated limo to help the spider clan from the Ruins (who are also raising a bake sale) reunite with the one in Hotland because the spiders can't cross Snowdin.

Not completely evil, she does care about her spider friends, but she is stingy with her mons.

She was willing to kill a child for money. Plus, all spiders are evil by default.

Muffet traps you and bombardes you with spiders. I died at least 20 times to her when I played the game.

You either have to survive all her attacks to spare her or kill her, or eat a spider cider or donut

14 Papyrus Papyrus is a character from the 2015 game Undertale, made by Toby Fox. He is the Younger brother of Sans the skeleton, royal guard in training, and a sentry in the town of Snowdin. Opposite to his brother, papyrus is active, loud, and full of himself; but in an endearing way. Papyrus means to become a full-fledged member of the guard by capturing a human to please his superior. A lover of puzzles and spaghetti, Papyrus provides much of the games comic relief and is a key character in the plot of the game.

Papyrus isn't evil. You can't even die to him in battle. He didn't want to torture the player when he had put all those weapons and stuff at the bridge, right before Snowdin. Yes, he was supposed to kill/capture the human just to be POPULAR but he bailed. And if he did it would to help the monsters return to the surface.

Papyrus should absolutely NOT be on this list! Whoever voted for this... You are nutcases! Show me where in the game that Papyrus is even the LEAST little bit evil!

Why papyrus even at the list anyway? He never did anything wrong!

15 Vegetoid

This plant thing has made a handful of new players quit/give up.

He's just mean.

16 Heats Flamesman Heats Flamesman is a character in the video game "Undertale." He is a fire-based monster who enjoys performing music and is often seen playing the saxophone. Heats Flamesman's quirky personality and catchy tune have made him a memorable and endearing figure within the game's diverse cast of characters.

He distracts people who get him by making their brain focus on his name...

That annoying little...

17 Annoying Dog

Toby fox must be the worst guy in the world!

No his not evil! Just annoying

Annoying yet cute.

18 Toriel Toriel is a goat like monster who is the secondary major character in Toby Fox's 2016 RPG, Undertale. She saves the protagonist from Flowey and guides them through the Ruins, of which she is the self-proclaimed caretaker. She is the ex-wife of Asgore, the mother of Asriel Dreemurr, the adoptive mother of the first human, and the first boss, guarding the end of the Ruins. She tries to protect the human from the dangers in the Underground, providing a safe tutorial through the first few rooms of the game. She is a blend of goat and mother.

Although seems nice, she secretly hates humans. When Toriel tells the player to stay there, she has absolutely no intention of returning, leaving the player there to rot. She also refuses to help with puzzles, and also despite pretending to be so protective, you still can die in her battle. (You cannot die to Papyrus)

Not evil! Although I wish Toriel was less sensitive about the soul-taking thing, I mean humans were douches to the monsters so what is seven lives, right? Also Asriel's name is Asgore x Toriel's couple name if you didn't already know now you do.

Very selfish and rude to the humans she doesn't care about humans at all.

Sure I think she evil.

19 River Person

Not gonna lie, river person is kinda sus. The fact he knows about Gaster is a bit...unsettling.

He is the only one (Besides sans) who knows Gaster! Isn't that suspicios and evil!? (Please mind my grammer

20 Temmie Temmie is minor character from the 2015 game Undertale made by Toby Fox. Made in the likeness of her artist, Temmie Chang, in appearance and character. Both a character and a species of monster, temmies are defined by their mix of cat and dog features, as well as their broken English. Their hidden village houses the only shop vender for the player to sell items; the strongest armor in the game is also sold here.

She's definitely hiding something behind that cute smile and improper grammer. We even caught a glimpse of her true self in the genocide route, when she says "You will regret this." A threat in proper english! Not to mention, she basically steals the money you give her for college. Where do the tems even sleep or live? What is that tem doing in the wall, just staring at you? Why is the mushroom in so much pain? Why does nobody seem to know where they are, or that they even exist? Why are they so keen on keeping their history a secret? If I were you, I'd stay away from the tems.

Temmie is not evil! How temmie is evil...

She's cute but kind of selfish.

21 Quacky Guy

Yea he's pretty evil

22 Napstablook Napstablook is a secondary character from Toby Fox's 2016 RPG, Undertale. He is the cousin of Mettaton, who left him in order to become famous. Due to this, poor Blooky has crippling depression.
23 Grillby

He doesn't say a word. He silently judges, and he manages to avoid death at the hands of PLAYER and CHARA

24 Greater Dog
25 W. D. Gaster W . D Gaster is one of the characters from the very popular game, UnderTale . Basically, he was once the royal scientist long ago, but then was forgotten and left in the void . Gaster feels like a character that is left behind since nobody really visits him . But you can encounter him in the waterfall exhibit while following Sans to Grillby's . W. D Gaster is also believed to be the father of Sans and Papyrus .

I used to think Gaster was a nice dadster, but now I think otherwise. His numbers in code were all variants of 666, his followers are all afraid of him, and my headcanon is Sans and Papyrus were his test subjects.

He's a forgotten monster with few people with knowledge of even his existence.
Like goner kid he's forced to be watching a timeline where he doesn't exist, he's not evil but I felt like I had to vote him. "Although he should be gone he's still there." "Beware of the man who speaks in hands." "I can't imagine what doctor Gaster must be going through."

From what I see, people should feel bad for him. He's been stuck in the void. I'd understand if he would want to kick my ass. because I'll beat him anyway. Wait... I forgot. " How can you kill something that doesn't even exist ".

Honestly he seems like he's controlling Chara's to be evil but that's just my theory.
