Greatest 60s and 70s Singers and Bands

The Contenders: Page 5

81 Three Dog Night

A great group of the 60's & 70s. I followed them through my 1st & 2nd Navy enlistments and like them to this very day as a now 72 year old man. Their music to me is timeless.

If only there were more re-engineered stereo or multi tracks available today from their past recordings, it would be marvellous and do more justice to their music.

Legendary group from the 70's. Played in 2 super bowls.

Why are they only number ninety six and not in the rock and roll hall of fame

82 Black Oak Arkansas

Greatly underrated and a first class live act!

83 Kate Bush Kate Bush
84 Flo & Eddie

Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman had a good run with the Turtles, then hooked up with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention and had some success there, but their several albums as Flo & Eddie are genius as well as artistically beautiful. They were great on the stage also.

Had more hits than the Velvet Underground, Parliament, The Beastie Boys, Run DMC, and The Staple Singers combined.

Greatest BAND EVER! Enough said...

Very underrated musicianship. Tommy Shaw is a amazing talent

86 The Zombies

They should be higher than this number! They were an awesome band despite being so underrated.

Brilliant keyboard player; Rod Argent, coupled with brilliant lead voice; Colin Bluntstone equals brilliant group!

87 Dave Clark Five

Best rock band of that era for me anyway!

I like their theme "Because"

Should be in the top 5.

88 America

Songs like Ventura Highway, Tin Man, Daisy Jane and Sister golden hair are some of the best of the 70's.

He is known for his work with the E Street Band. Nicknamed "The Boss", Springsteen is widely known for his brand of poetic lyrics, Americana, working class and sometimes political more.

Awesome in concert, I have never seen anyone better live.

He must be in the top ten.
There aren't many guys who are 65+ and give live performances of 3,5 hours long. Paul McCartney to. This is a horrible list from. Every performance Springsteen give ther are 40000+ people.

93 Steely Dan Steely Dan
94 Sly & The Family Stone Sly & The Family Stone Sly and the Family Stone was an American band from San Francisco. Active from 1967 to 1983, the band was pivotal in the development of funk, soul, rock, and psychedelic music.

Ya gotta have some funk on the list!!!!!!

95 Sonny & Cher

After their divorce, Cher, unlike Tina Turner, also went solo and sold more than 500,000 copies of her 1998 release, Believe, beating out Madonna's Ray of Light. Her rival is Ashley Tisdale. Cher also appeared in numerous films including Moonstruck (1987), Mermaids (1990) and Burlesque (alongside Christina Aguilera). - playstationfan66

Mark Bolan...Bang a Gong.. it is what things were all about. Still using his music in commercials today
