Greatest 60s and 70s Singers and Bands

The Contenders: Page 5

81 Black Oak Arkansas

Greatly underrated and a first class live act!

82 Kate Bush Kate Bush
83 Three Dog Night

A great group of the 60's & 70s. I followed them through my 1st & 2nd Navy enlistments and like them to this very day as a now 72 year old man. Their music to me is timeless.

Legendary group from the 70's. Played in 2 super bowls.

Fun tempo variation. What a variety of music they played. 59 and still listen to this old stuff

Why are they only number ninety six and not in the rock and roll hall of fame

84 Flo & Eddie

Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman had a good run with the Turtles, then hooked up with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention and had some success there, but their several albums as Flo & Eddie are genius as well as artistically beautiful. They were great on the stage also.

85 The Zombies

They should be higher than this number! They were an awesome band despite being so underrated.

Brilliant keyboard player; Rod Argent, coupled with brilliant lead voice; Colin Bluntstone equals brilliant group!

Had more hits than the Velvet Underground, Parliament, The Beastie Boys, Run DMC, and The Staple Singers combined.

Greatest BAND EVER! Enough said...

Very underrated musicianship. Tommy Shaw is a amazing talent

87 Dave Clark Five

Best rock band of that era for me anyway!

I like their theme "Because"

Should be in the top 5.

88 America

Songs like Ventura Highway, Tin Man, Daisy Jane and Sister golden hair are some of the best of the 70's.

92 Steely Dan Steely Dan
93 Sly & The Family Stone Sly & The Family Stone Sly and the Family Stone was an American band from San Francisco. Active from 1967 to 1983, the band was pivotal in the development of funk, soul, rock, and psychedelic music.

Ya gotta have some funk on the list!!!!!!

94 Sonny & Cher

After their divorce, Cher, unlike Tina Turner, also went solo and sold more than 500,000 copies of her 1998 release, Believe, beating out Madonna's Ray of Light. Her rival is Ashley Tisdale. Cher also appeared in numerous films including Moonstruck (1987), Mermaids (1990) and Burlesque (alongside Christina Aguilera). - playstationfan66

Sonny and cher made me a very happy person in California at the age of 16 being all alone I ENJOYED LISTING TO I've GOT YOU BABE

95 Good Rats
96 Jefferson Starship
97 Carly Simon

Loved this girl! All her songs were so heartfelt and I loved every minute of them. I am still a fan.

I'm going back to re-discover singers I liked. Carly is one.

98 Ted Nugent Ted Nugent

PAPA Nugent is the greatest. I went deer hunting with him last year on his ranch. It was on The Animal Planet. I found him to be a down home kind of man with no proud attitude. He wasn't a star in his eyes. You were an equal in his view.

Ted Nugent is a freak. He is an America haring traitor to the USA. A Whiner. And, the most boring "musician" I have ever heard.

The Detroit Mad Man U got to love him!

And y vote for PRESIDENT!

99 The 5th Dimension
100 Petula Clark

Those school girl days... To Sir With Love Great film and young love.
