Indiscriminate violence, or a better term to use would be random violence, has to do with violence committed with no apparent target or motive in mind. That's basically the kind of violence involved in the Virginia Beach Municipal Center shooting.

The shooting involved a city employee who attacked his workplace and killed 12 people, most of whom were his coworkers. Investigators did not establish a clear motive for the attack. Claims that he was in good standing, had never done anything wrong before the shooting, or normally got along with all of his coworkers are too broad to state as established facts.

Let's see what's actually bad about random violence.

I know it's hard to tell with that guy, but I am still waiting days after the new investigation happened. The guy was a satisfactory employee, and there's still no real idea what may have triggered his rampage.

    Similar to place, but, well, it can happen at any time. The Virginia Beach shooting happened at 4:00 PM, which is still daylight in the month of May.

    This usually pertains to conflicts between two different kinds of nations or people. Read about some moments in history, like the Boston Massacre. Eventually, they ended up leading to bigger conflicts like the Revolutionary War and such.

    I mean, slavery was one of the reasons the Civil War started. Also, the Treaty of Versailles was very unpopular in Germany and contributed to Hitler's rise to power before World War II.

    The municipal center in particular was relatively peaceful until that moment occurred. Now it has become notable because of what happened.

    Sort of pertains to the above. Usually, if it is large-scale random violence, loved ones are lost, and in some cases, some places are destroyed or perhaps demilitarized.
