Top 10 Most Overrated Heavy Metal Albums

Have you ever listened to a so-called classic metal album and it just kind of felt mid or didn't quite hit the spot? Do you ever feel like it gets too much praise and is worshipped like an ancient relic?

Well, if that's you, vote on this list for the most overrated heavy metal albums.

The Top Ten
  1. Paranoid - Black Sabbath

The first half is 10/10 masterpieces with songs everyone knows, and then you listen to the second half and realise you never really took a good look at the album.

  2. Reign in Blood - Slayer

Mid ass album, a bland 30 minutes of pure repetition. There's nothing special about it other than its blistering sound, but that's probably been surpassed. You could listen to 1 song from this album and you'd have pretty much listened to the whole thing.

  3. British Steel - Judas Priest

I've never understood why this album is considered one of the best metal albums when it isn't ever ranked their best. Most of the time, Stained Class, Screaming for Vengeance, and Defenders of the Faith are above this when you look at Judas Priest's albums ranked. It's a good album, but it falls off a lot in the second half.

  4. Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? - Megadeth

Never really liked this. The solos are nice, but it gets boring for me.

  5. Piece of Mind - Iron Maiden

Mediocre at best. It just sounds really boring in my opinion.

  6. Significant Other - Limp Bizkit

This album was so boring to listen to. There's so much damn filler.

  7. Iowa - Slipknot

Half of it is great, and the other half is pure filler.

  8. Slipknot - Slipknot

    So much filler.

  9. Roots - Sepultura

Once again, there's too much frickin filler, but the title track makes up for it.

  10. Youthanasia - Megadeth

More alternative and less thrash. It bores me.
