The Top Ten
1 One - Metallica (The "Machine Gun" Part)

I'm referring to the intense instrumental part before and during the lines that begin with "Darkness imprisoning me". This part is informally called by the fans "Machine Gun part". If you hear that part, you will understand why.

This is probably what made metal what it is today.

2 Raining Blood - Slayer (Headbanging Riff in the Intro)

Just play the sample and you will hear it. Awesome!

3 Hallowed Be Thy Name - Iron Maiden (Intro)

Fear of the Dark's and Face in the Sand's intro is more unforgettable for me, but Hallowed Be Thy Name is up there as well. The most unforgettable moment in this song is the main riff to me.

Vocals in the intro are absolutely unforgettable - Bruce performs great long sustains and a masterful scream.

4 Painkiller - Judas Priest (Drum Intro)

This is how you start a metal song!

5 And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope - Ne Obliviscaris (Intro)

Just play the sample, it features part of the intro because the intro is very long. Violin and proggy drums are awesome.

6 Holy Wars... the Punishment Due - Megadeth (Intro)

One of my most favorite guitar intros in metal (the sample succeeds to feature it because the intro is pretty long).

7 The Trooper - Iron Maiden (Dueling Guitar Solos)
8 One - Metallica (Solo)
9 Alison Hell - Annihilator (Intro)
10 The Art of Dying - Gojira (Intro)

That intro (at least until the guitar part showed up) was REALLY danceable and awesome.

The Contenders
11 Master of Puppets - Metallica (One's Solo)
12 Kissing the Shadows - Children of Bodom (Solos)
13 Beyond the Realms of Death - Judas Priest (4:28-4:38)
14 Ram It Down - Judas Priest (Dueling Guitar Solos)
15 For Whom the Bell Tolls - Metallica (Bass Intro)

Cliff killed it here. The first that comes to mind where I listen this song is that damn bass solo. I just love it!

16 Cemetery Gates - Pantera (Solo)
17 Floods - Pantera (Outro Licks)
18 Heaven Denies - Demons & Wizards (Chanting in the Outro)

There's no actual choir - all multi-layered vocal tracks with the beautiful overlapping harmonies were sung by one person only - the lead singer.

19 Omnipresent Perception - Beyond Creation (Fretless Bass Solo)
20 Prince of Darkness - Megadeth (Silence to Solo)

The moment where the songs starts to fade out like it is about to end, stops only to go right back into the chorus. Just loved that moment.

21 Valhalla (Live) - Blind Guardian (Chorus)

At a live show, the crowd sang the chorus for about 4 minutes and didn't want to stop, despite the band finished the song... several times. Some say the crowd is still singing... "Valhalla, deliverance! Why've you ever forgotten me?"

22 Stargazer - Rainbow (Drum Intro)
23 Children of the Sea - Black Sabbath (Intro)
24 Nailed to the Wheel - Edguy (Vocals in the Intro)

Play the sample to hear part of it.

25 Intra Venus - Ne Obliviscaris (Dueling Solos for Guitar and Violin)
