Top 10 Most Successful Nations
The Top Ten
Contrary to the top answer, we did win every war. The Vietnam War was not an American war, but instead an American military engagement. We have only fought five wars (six if you count the Continental Congress as America) 1812, Mexican-American, Spanish-American, WW1, and WW2 (the sixth was the revolutionary war). All of those are clear victories except the war of 1812. However, I think that the resulting peace ended in American favor. It reduced the amount of British influence on the North American continent, reduced the number of impressing incidents (the British navy kidnapping American sailors for service in the British navy), and demonstrated that America could hold its own against the strongest nation at the time proving that the revolutionary war was not just a fluke.
Additionally, America is the number one creator of peace in the world at the moment and throughout history. Since WW2, we have prevented WW3 at times in which any other nation would have escalated the ...more
The U.S. did not "win every war" - have you heard of the Vietnam War and I fail to see how a country with over 18 trillion dollars in debt can class as the richest country with the greatest economy. Not to mention be "like" a "liberal, now democratic" nation when they so frequently enforce their position as global leaders, by bombing foreign cities, forcing their personnel and military on their "allies" (who they treat so horridly) while also appointing American dictators on the weaker states they conquer. Yes they may have the strongest military and own most innovations in the world, but this merely highlights their "influence" (brute force) towards other countries - stripping away cultures to promote their Coke, MacDonald's and Apple products; allowing the rest of the world to wither in the face of this super giant, ignoring peace and sovereignty for power and control over the world under a regime that produces no genuine benefits for their citizens or the other people in the world.
Well, I wish I could say the US is the freest, most successful, greatest country in the world, but sadly it just isn't the truth any longer. Though up until twenty years ago, it truly used to be. Thriving economy, freedom abounding, everyone just happy to live in a place free of persecution and bondage and what not. Though many still come to the US today for success, I can't say its as free or as successful as it used to be. But hopefully the upcoming generation, my generation, will take a stand and bring the US back to its former state of glory- full of freedom and liberty and justice for all.
Go USA! The best country ever! Best economy, best entertainment, best military; what's not to like.
The worst crisis in Norway in the recent years was a butter crisis... Aka a shortage of butter, while the rest of the western world fell down in a economic mess.
Great economics, great quality of life, everyone values human life in Norway.
Norway does things right. Americans wonder why their education is such high quality, but it's because they pay their teachers like doctors and encourage progress and improvement among the individual. Norway's government is responsible and forward thinking, and that keeps on top in my opinion.
Great nations make their countries great
United kingdom Of Great Britain and northern Ireland always and forever England Scotland Ireland and Wales the four greatest nations on earth. The real McCoy of true freedom and liberty and a place where anyone in the world can come and live and succeed if they work hard enough. And if they don't succeed, well they still have a cushy life on the social, and of course there's the NHS. And there's the people, as the new York times put it, the uk's most successful export which I took as a compliment! Well they were talking about celebrities, no2 on the list is very nice to see, but where's France, can not see it, I thought Japan would have been further up as well, Mmm china and India need to spread the wealth amongst there people who are starving before they can be a proper superpower like USA, they should make a different list to include these countries that treat their vast majority of poor people with utter disregard and keep the wealth in their corrupt governments and spend lavishly ...more
'Little Britain', though geographically small, managed to become a superpower that would directly influence every corner of the world to the extent never seen before. In order to for it compete globally against countries with larger resources and bigger populations, it created a more efficient and superior economic system (Bank of England, Bill of Rights) and elite military (Royal Navy) that subsequently lead to its Empire becoming the largest ever, beating its French, Spanish and Portuguese rivals. British culture is showcased across the world through its excellence in music, media, sport, art, literature...etc. whilst scientifically it has been a leading nation for centuries- its achievements in ingenuity has resulted in many world-changing inventions like the Television, World Wide Web, Newton's Laws, Telephone, Programmable Computer to name a few. It continues today to overshadow larger countries because of its strong economy and diplomatic skill. In fact, Britain is rated as the ...more
The only European nation to have 2 universities in the top 10, and has the second highest scientific output in terms of quantity and quality in the world. The nation has had a profound effect on the modern world, and still continues to do so.
Good sense of humour and they like to learn about other cultures. They also invented the light bulb, jet engine, T.V., telephone, train, penicillin, first computer, hovercraft, vertical take off aircraft, LCD, tanks,... look at the history of each of these, a person from the UK lay at the heart of the device. I could keep going... Germans and Yanks invented a lot also.
Because lots of things you will find in any clever literature.
Thanks to France.
Just one thing that nobody know France is the 2nd Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the world just close behind the United States of America.
And even French themselves do not know that.
France is much more than we believe in general.
Her culture is equal to none her poesi will live on for ever. Napoleon conqured most of Europe and his legacy lives on in modern legeslation and culture
More military victories than any country
Japan have many business company worldwide... Everybody in this world are using their products... They also have culture likes anime which is well received...
Japanese culture appeals to many outside of it, which I believe is somewhat due to the aesthetics associated with Japanese "kawaii" culture and media. Not only this, but many of the industries housed there have deep and far reaching roots and influences.
All round good balanced life. But the best is safety.
One of the most beautiful cultures on earth. The notion of honour is most important for this nation. They are people of efficiency, patience, and determination.
Germany has the strongest economy in Europe, without Germany, Europe wouldn't survive.
The amount of resources that a country has does not determine how successful a nation is. What does determine it is how well do they utilize the resources they have to the fullest, and Germany is hands down the best at that. Also, a successful country is self-sufficient and does not depend on other countries. (Japan is a great example their abundant exports and influential culture throughout the rest of the world. ) Back in WW2 Germany had to synthesize their own oil since their location in Europe is not necessarily the best in terms of available resources compared to America, and yet they were still the most superior country in the world without a doubt, and were heavily efficient. Their specialty in mechanical engineering have allowed them to craft amazing machines, and they have invented a lot of creative ideas and patents such as the first automobile, the first four-stroke internal combustion, diesel, and Wankel rotary engines. Not to mention, they were the first to make huge ...more
Germany has a good relationship with many countries, and a bad relationship with few. For the comment on America, what are you talking about great economy? Yes a recession and 28 trillion dollars of debt mostly to a communist country is amazing.
You vote for England, just because of their Accent? What has that to do with success?
Germany was really successful in the last decades especially in football!
India has a pretty fast growing economy, as you may have guessed by now. They really are climbing up the ladder. The problem they have to deal with is how they distribute the money. Like any other capitalist country, the poor are really poor and the rich are really rich, but in India the poor are REALLY poor and the rich are REALLY rich. Also, they really need to spend more money on infrastructure. A road is tarmac, not slightly less dirt than everywhere else.
How is it successful?
It's poor, dirty, undeveloped and full of crime and diseases
It's just high because of the bots, just look at this India here has over 50 comments when Switzerland has only 8
India is a fast growing economy in this present world. Even in this present economic crisis india is growing. Even india is a developing country, it can make investments in American company. Just after China, india is considered as fast growing countries of world. In the coming 20 years india will no longer continue as a developing country, but a developed,
The thing about India is it is the fastest growing economy nowadays in the world,it has largest work force, a young country with 60per youths(18-30), it is among the greatest market in the world and a very healthy place to invest,it has also made itself an eminent country in space exploration the other thing about India is it's unity and diversity it is the biggest diversity with people living in peace many world leaders claimed that with such diversity India is not gonna last long but India prooved to be heathy country with stable economy it the major point to note is of has the biggest democracy
How is Swiss not number 1? It's heaven in Earth with delicious chocolate and less pollution.
Switzerland is one of the worlds most prosperous and wealthy country. everybody there is practically rich and they all have individual freedoms. In addition its one of the most hard working countries, unlike other European countries whose people rely off the government for help... *cough* Norway *cough* Finland *cough* Sweden*
Switzerland is a small country and yet, it is one of the few success stories in the world
Most prosperous, least with wars. Can't think of any others in that category.
In my opinion, if you have not been to Singapore, you will be missing out on one of the world's better places to be.
One of the most convenient island city/country to live in, utterly resplendent.
Just a tiny island, and starting with next to nothing, to being a fully developed nation within a handful of decades.
An efficient and great government system that shows fairness to its population, regardless of locals or foreigners. Something many countries have not achieved on a full nationwide scale.
If this isn't proof enough, than nothing else matters.
Probably the fastest country ever to go from third world to first world (1965- now) Unlike many other rich countries Singapore didn't have all those natural resources (oil/gas) it was through good governing and sheer hard work to get to where they are now.
Walk along an average Singapore street alone at 3am, and you are likely to go unmolested, regardless of whether you're an 80-year-old man or a 15-year-old schoolgirl.
Not only is this one of the biggest economic giants, but it's one of the safest countries in the world. You hardly ever see police around, not because they're lazy, or can't hire people, but because there's such a small need for them. If that doesn't point out a vastly superior economic country, than even the USA, I don't know what does.
Why the hell isn't this in the top ten?! China is very, very successful! It's developing very fast and twice as fast as India! The economy is growing very fast and it is becoming a lot more modern. China is awesome. America and Europe are the past. China is the future!
China has the most impressive for of government and has a assertive foreign and defense policy. China is the 2nd fastest growing country.
I think it should be the most successful country
China isn't even Communist, people have different amounts of money in China, the owning of factories of China also means that it isn't Communist.
Usually places in top ten regardless of survey along with other Northern European countries. Great and free-of-charge education, freedom of press, least corruption etc.
Finland has better equality than most European countries and has a better quality of life. Finland is full of nature untouched by man. In Finland you can really know the true meaning of freedom
Education, enviroment, quality of living and generally good government
Canada is a brilliant country full of excitement, adventure, freedom, and a great landscape, which makes the land unforgettable in its own words. It has a strong economy and it appreciates human rights.
Canada is awesome. Great people, gorgeous women, good food, great policies, beautiful land, intercultural, what more can you ask for?
So beautiful... I can never imagine the world without Canada. So many people are nice here. Love you, Canada!
Canada is probably the most beautiful and most cunning country I have ever stayed at and I am proud to be living there
Australia is without a doubt the greatest nation in the world today. Yes we may not have the powerful armies or the economic powerhouses or overwhelming international influence, but we have far better, more important and attractive features. In Australia, everyone, whether you're black or white, male or female is treated with the same respect as the next person. Indeed quite a number of my elder family are European immigrants. For years I've known that they chose to move to this country and those reasons are simple; equality, opportunity, peace and democracy. In Australia, everyone has the same rights, governance is fair and just and hinged by the rule of law. Here people enjoy the highest standards of living, with great opportunities for those to start a fresh page in a new life. We have the greatest education in the world and rank high in all international measures of humanity measurements. I could go on, but I simply would ever stop talking. To sum up in Australia we value and ...more
Allowing the individual who resides in Australia to feel as though they are not just a 'number', yet more of a 'individual'. Australia provides excellent public facilities and cares more about how people feel as opposed to getting people used to new ideas.
Being multi-cultural and so diverse in terms of scenery and geographic wise, the Australian standard is seen throughout the entire country. Clean, safe cities, towns with the rule of law.
Australia has a great health system, political system and has been the country least effected by the global financial crisis! And yes it is one of the most multicultural country in the world! Plus it has great whether beaches and food! Not that they have anything to do with it!
Best country on the planet by far! This is not an biased and subjective triate.. But merely an accurate reflection of living in Australia.. Due to the ease at which Australia affords its citizens to have... However I don't think Australia will become a "super giant" economically... Due to its small population size... However.. If you want the worlds BEST standard of living.. Then look no further then Australia
I've lived in Sweden for 12 years and I found it to be really easy for people to get jobs and good education. I am currently living in Singapore, a country in Asia that is very rich as well, but Sweden has a lot of good high points and we are economically stable to my understanding.
Great country, is high on almost everything good can't think of anything bad about Sweden. I'm moving there soon. Big hug from a Norwegian that will soon be a Swede.
Its functions well and the people are nice. But its like Harry Enfield's character
Beautiful country with beautiful, kind, and respectful people.
1. The worlds most beautiful lake called Lake Saif-ul-Maluke is in Pakistan.
2. The only country that produce a legend of Squash player Jhangir Khan, Who win the British Title 10 times in row.
3. North Pakistan has the biggest glaciers in the world, and some of the most beautiful mountain sceneries.
4. Most of the largest mosques are located in Pakistan like the baadshahi mosque in lahore, faisal mosque in islamabad, masjid e tooba in karachi and mecca masjid in hyderabad.
Most good cotton in the world.
I love pakistan Ayaz Ahmad
A beautiful country with resources and from torrisim point of view
MAN, SOUTH KOREA BECAME ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL COUNTRIES ONLY IN 50 YEARS!
There aren't any countries that became one of most successful countries in short-terms except South Korea.
South Korea was a country many nations helped 60 years ago just after Korean War. Now Korea is helping many nations in humanitarian way and with technologies.
I like how the main oriental Asian countries are doing so well. Asians are going to take over the world!
Despite all its oil revenue and 40% of its other revenue being retained by Westminster, Scotland is a successful country, providing for its citizens' needs much better than its larger neighbour.
We invented everything 🤣
Soviet Union (and all Warsaw Pact countries) was really successful without homeless and unemployed it was one and only Superpower.
Pioneered Space and Nuclear Arms and became the largest country in the world.
Made my favriote tank
Help destroy Nazi Germany's and libersted millions of Jews from the Nazis
It my have room for dictatorship but is was a place of financial happnies and well being
Why is this so low? Guess a lot of people don't really know the geography of the UK.
The greatest nation in the world (in the history of wars). They were managing the world with justice. They were killing who did injustice something they were killing he/she. (Even the turks)
Most successful Muslim country in the world
At least, much better than some of these.
All periods of History Turks are very effective
Iceland is the cleanest greenest country on earth. It is also the second best place to have a baby.
Extremely successful economy.
Egypt is the "mother of the world". It holds one of the top seven wonders of the world and is extremely amazing.
Where mankind began. First to lead in every elements.
Lasted the longest
Egypt is one of the most amazing countries in this world! about its people.. and places and way more... even though you might not be from there, it just feels like home. there are a lot of places you can visit there asit has the Nile ( the tallest river in the world) and also the pyramids (one of the seven wonders of the world) and it has history with france, greece, romania, britian turkey and other countires. When you ask anyone about Egypt, theyll tell you it's the mother of the world.❤
Indonesia also has an unjust, corrupt and undemocratic system of government. Ordinary people are murdered on the lowest of crimes, standard of living is shocking, human rights are constantly violated, protective and security measures are just horrendous and every tourist who ever visits seems to die a "tragic death" either from surfing at those "great beaches", drinking or eating at Indonesian restaurants or from being imprisoned or executed based on ridiculous criminal accusations.
I Love Indonesia because its economy getting better year by year. But they have serious problem with corrupt government and work distribution.
Indonesia is the best, I am from us, but I think indonesia has:
- beautiful places
- cheap prices
- nice people
- great weather
- great lifestyle
- Indonesian language is easy to learn because it is a "lingua franca" language
There is still much corruption, prostitution, people have not been prosperous.
Be very suprised if any nation as small has contributed so much
So england was a barron wasteland until numerous invasions?
THE ORIGANAL BRITISH PEOPLE here before the English around since the roman times
Invented the company, pioneered world trade, International Law, the telescope, microscope, van gogh, rembrandt, founded New York City, with a free and diverse society and culture. Of course there are some problems, but the country overall has been a huge influence on the modern world. The English even employed Dutch engineers to build parts of windsor, and the Netherlands remains the 3rd largest investor in the American economy, and is in the top largest investors in places like Brazil and China. It lays low on the scene, but the dutch economy and business have a larger say than most people know.
Healthiest diet of Europe, lowest obesity rate, highly efficient use of the territory enabling 17 million people to still live in green, liberal - a country with a personality.
Dutch people should burn because no one likes them and all of their lives are worthless. Die
From far back history still succesfull. Always in top 10 on social, economical, educational list. Dutch companies are pioneers in general, and leading innovators in all kinds of business.
