Top 10 Countries with the Best Beaches
France has lots of beaches along the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. But also the Pacific Ocean, with the largest and most wonderful lagoon in the world: Bora Bora. There are so many other coral islands and the famous New Caledonia with the 3rd largest coral reef in the world.
French Caribbean islands also have many nice beaches. Even in the Indian Ocean, with Mayotte and wonderful coral reefs, Réunion, etc. No other European country can offer such beaches, and surely few in the whole world.
I know that France has Bora Bora and New Caledonia, as well as some Caribbean islands, but just the continental part of France is amazing. Sure, you could visit Paris, but you must visit the Mediterranean part of France. Nice, Cannes, French Riviera - so many nice beaches. On a side note, the beaches are crowded.
Many different types of beautiful beaches can be found in Australia. It is a huge country with an extensive coastline, which means there are many isolated, naturally beautiful, and pristine beaches.
There are also popular beaches closer to the cities, like Bondi Beach, where you will often spot celebrities. Perhaps the best aspect of Australian beaches is the sand. It's clean, soft, and perfect for making sand sculptures, going barefoot, and lying down. Or maybe it's the waves that are most appealing, making the beach fun and great for surfing.
There are also tropical beaches in the north with white sand and beautiful coral. Think of the Great Barrier Reef and Fraser Island. Australia has many vast beaches with rolling sand dunes, and a large majority of Australians live very close to them.
When my relatives came to Australia from Mediterranean Europe, they could not believe the difference. When they went back home to Europe, they did not want to go to the beach there anymore. While you might laugh at the idea of the "Australian beach culture," it certainly exists and is something you will notice straight away when you visit.
Yes, for sure. Hundreds of lagoons with coral reefs in this unbelievable and wonderful Pacific Ocean.
Here you will find 20 times more beautiful beaches than an overrated country like Italy.
No beaches in the world compare to those in Greece. Places like the Maldives, Fiji, and Hawaii rely on picture-perfect days with the right sunshine and low winds to take photos for tourist magazines. In Greece, they are perfect and crystal clear all the time.
Islands like Milos, Lefkada, Zakynthos, Koufonissi, Naousa, and Paxi have better beaches than anywhere on earth. For those who believe Australia is better, remember this: dive off any boat offshore, and you might be eaten by a shark or attacked by a variety of other sea creatures like deadly jellyfish.
There are many beautiful beaches in the UK. Devon and Cornwall have beautiful white sand, as do the Channel Islands. Looking further north, there are miles of sand at beaches such as Southport, Barrow-in-Furness, and Morecambe Bay.
Surprisingly, Scotland has crystal white sand beaches and beautiful turquoise seas up north. Hawaii counts as the U.S., so I am sure Bermuda, British Caribbean Islands, and Gibraltar in Southern Spain should get a mention!
Yes, among one of the best beaches. It's not because it's not sunny that the beaches are not beautiful.
Really? 17th place? If you have never heard of it because this is a small country, once you come here, you will be fascinated by this sea land. It is like Greece but with a cleaner sea, lots of islands, secret beaches, and a paradise on earth!
I lost my wallet with $3,000 there, and the man who worked at a bar gave it back and didn't want to take a reward for it! It will always be my favorite place for holidays. The only bad thing is that the people there are the most lazy in the world. They don't want to work, just eat, drink, sleep, and swim in the sea. I don't know how, but nobody works half the year.
The Philippines is the most beautiful country in the world because its natural beauty is perfect. Visit her, and you will discover its mountainous land, gifted with a variety of animals and trees, plus springs of water, bays, beaches, and coral reefs inhabited by thousands of marine life species.
The Philippines is a paradise because its land structure, surrounded by water, is unequaled. The only problem is the system of government because traditional corruption is out of control. These things obscure the natural beauty of the Philippines from the eyes of the world.
Hawaii, California, Florida, Alabama, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands all have amazing and beautiful beaches. There is a lot of diversity among the beaches: isolated wilderness beaches, exciting beaches with piers and boardwalks, white-sand beaches, black-sand beaches, beaches with cliffs, beaches with dunes, and more.
Almost all beaches are public throughout the country, and there is great weather year-round in the tropical parts of the country. In the summer, even the colder parts have incredible and scenic sandy beaches. The variety and quantity of beaches are unbeatable.
The beaches in Mexico are fantastic. Best in the world: beautiful sand, crystal clear water, gorgeous sea life. Great for relaxing, swimming, water sports, eating, and enjoying an excellent atmosphere. I highly recommend Mexico.
Beyond Cancun, Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, and all the other famous resort towns, Mexico's got beaches that defy the imagination. They could be in a desert, a tropical rainforest, marshes, cliffs, next to lagoons, or even "underground" (Marieta). If you like warm water temperatures, you're really going to like Mexico.
Seriously? France and Germany above Spain? Whoever wrote this has never been to Spain or Germany. Spain has the most blue flag beaches in the world. It should definitely be in the top 3. By the way, is there any 'real beach' in Germany?
Here in Hawaii, we have more beautiful beaches than Spain, and that in a real ocean: the Pacific, not this ridiculous Mediterranean Sea.
Seriously, why Spain is not at the top of the list is a mystery.
Best water temperature to swim in.
This is very wrong, voting Brazil 9th. It has tons of beaches. For example, Florianopolis Island in South Brazil has 42 beaches on its own. Brazil also can claim the whitest sand in the world. Look up Maranhão, it's an amazing place.
Australia? Are you kidding me? This must be a joke, right? Brazil should be number 1 hands down. Brazil all the way!
Brazil should be number one! The US has nothing, Greece has few, only competition for Brazil is Australia, but even they aren't better.
Maldives has the best beaches in the whole world, with crystal clear waters and pearly white sand. I don't understand why Maldives has such a low ranking. It ought to be at the top!
Well, it's not a question about being large since this is a small country, but the beaches are marvelous.
Beautiful island with beautiful beaches!
Blue sky, white sand, emerald water, and very beautiful scenery.
Germany's North Sea islands are blessed with gloriously long beaches and unique natural surroundings. Located in the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea, the islands have a bracing climate that makes them perfect for recreational and active breaks.
Fantastic accommodation, top-class cuisine, and major sporting events are the icing on the cake. There are also other places in the North Sea as well as the Baltic Sea.
Germany? For sure, a beautiful beach does not necessarily mean sun and crystal-clear water. A beach means the beauty of the beach itself: landscape, size, sand, rocks, atmosphere, environment, changing sky, and climate magnifying sites, etc.
For those reasons, Germany deserves to be in the top 10, despite the negative comments from the usual critics.
Indonesia is the biggest archipelago country in the world with more than 17,500 islands! A lot of beautiful places! It should be top 5 or even number 1.
You guys don't know Indonesia, man! How can the USA beat Indonesia? Search Google: Indonesia beaches.
Indonesia has amazing beaches! I went there and went snorkeling at the beach basically all day.
The climate is great. If you are a beach person, Sri Lanka would be the best place. They have the best beaches in the world for surfers with golden sand and coral reefs. When I went there, a giant tortoise came to the beach, and we even got to pet it! The beaches in the east of the country are wave-less! Whale and dolphin watching are also popular in some seasons.
I have been to many beaches. South Africa's are my favorite.
South Africa should be one of the top ten. They have heaps of clear, clean, nice beaches.
India is a big country, surrounded on three sides by water. So, there are many beaches in India. It has the world's second-largest beach, Marina Beach, in Tamil Nadu's state capital. Other than Marina, there are more than 20 beaches in Tamil Nadu.

If you want crystal blue beaches, you have to go to Sardinia. It's like the Caribbean in Europe. I don't understand how people like beaches with buildings right beside them, like they do in Spain. You can't relax there with all the traffic noise and people. Beaches are supposed to be away from urban areas. The harder it is to get to the beach, the better.
You have not seen any beautiful beaches if you've never seen Sardinia. Sardinia offers a large variety of coastal landscapes, sandy and rocky beaches lapped by seawater with different shades of color. Many parts of the coast are still wild and very little crowded.
I go to the beach here, and the water is so clear that I can see these transparent fish. Everything is so clean! Definitely should top this chart!
The Dominican Republic should be number 1. The one who wrote this has never come to the Dominican Republic.
The Dominican Republic has the best beaches. The food there, the beds in the water, the beautiful palm trees, etc. It should be #1.
