Greatest High School Movies

The Top Ten
1 Fast Times at Ridgemont High
2 The Breakfast Club

Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think you're crazy to make an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain...
... And an athlete...
... And a basket case...
... A princess...
... And a criminal...
Does that answer your question?...
Sincerely yours,
The Breakfast Club.

I can only wish for and fathom what a sequel to this movie would be like. It would be interesting to see how the Breakfast Club acted on Monday or even to see how they could have been five years from them. I wish there was a follow-up.

Best High School movie ever. Please, no sequels. No remakes. It's just that damn good. Do NOT remake this.

The best popcorn movie ever to exist.

3 Ferris Bueller's Day Off

All the worst movies have many problems with them, and Ferris Bueller is no different. Hideously unfunny, stretched-out jokes, poor acting, actors too old for their characters, scenes that don't make sense, and the worst "doesn't know wehre to end" case in the history of cinema. It currently sits at 80 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. The mindblowingly spectacular Boy in the Striped Pajamas is 63 and the incredibly fantastic Goonies is something like 67. Ah, humanity.

4 Dazed & Confused

One of the worst films ever made. Darla hated that film for decades. Don't get me wrong. Darla's #1 film is Bridge to Terabithia (2007) even if it had the song "why can't we be friends", resulting in a friendship between Jess Aarons and Leslie Burke before her death.

This deserves to be in the top 10, at least. This movie explains everything!

It's freakin' funny, and I've seen it more than 1000 times. Literally!

5 Heathers

I love this movie. Also, this should be above Mean Girls because Mean Girls was based off Heathers. Heathers is an amazing, quirky but funny movie that you need to watch.

Great movie! The plot is amazing. It wasn't too predictable at all, and there weren't any bad characters.

Yes times 1000. No other movie shows a bunch of murderous teens, so this is an obvious win.

Love the movie and musical!

6 Superbad

Also one of the most quotable movies of all time. "There's no first or last name, it just says McLOVIN!

7 Mean Girls

I like this movie, even though I don't like Lindsey!

8 Back to the Future

What is this doing at #10? This movie is great! It's funny, dramatic, cool, and it has some songs good enough to put on anybodies Ipod or other music player. I own the 25th anniversary edition trilogy with all three movies, digital copies for each one, and a bonus disc. That's how much I love the movie, or should I say all 3 movies

9 Grease

I watched this when I was like 10 with my mum. Haven't watched it since then though

An all time classic incredibly funny movie.

10 Clueless
The Contenders
11 Sixteen Candles
12 American Pie

Haven't you all seen American Pie? This should be with The Breakfast Club!
This movie is about teenagers who will do anything to lose their virginity; overall, this is one of my favorite movies of all-time.

13 American Graffiti
14 Carrie
15 Easy A
16 Cooley High
17 Blackboard Jungle
18 Election
19 Lucas

Aside from the gridiron stuff, this is the closest to what the high school experience was for me.

20 The Perks of Being a Wallflower

One of the best high school movies ever.

21 10 Things I Hate About You
22 She's All That
23 The Last American Virgin
24 Donnie Darko
25 Rock 'n' Roll High School
