Top 10 Best Months of the Year for Movie Releases
Kind of an oddball list, I know. This list compiles the months of the year that are most likely to feature good movie releases.
The summer blockbusters everyone talks about usually like to make their debuts this month.
The blockbuster month.
Do I smell Oscar nominees? This is the month they almost all come out (in limited releases, at least).
The Lord of the Rings trilogy came out this month.
The new month when Star Wars movies come out! YES!
Do I smell Oscar nominees? Yes, but not as many as in December.
Bohemian Rhapsody the movie. Enough said.
Whatever big movie doesn't premiere in May will likely come around in July.
The first Transformers film was released in July 2007.

The pre-May is what I call it when talking about movies. Maybe someday it will be the big release month instead of May. Probably not, but it can try.
Because it's almost summer vacation.
Not April, but the sequel April 2.
A few Oscar-hopeful stragglers make their way into theatres around this time. Of course, scary movies are the main focus in October.
By now, the action movie extravaganza has begun, and films keep pouring into theatres.
Recently, blockbusters have been coming out earlier and earlier. Alice in Wonderland became huge in March and spearheaded Disney's recent live-action fairytale craze, which has mostly monopolized March.
There's not a whole lot happening in March, usually. It's better than January and February, at least.
Definitely March.
Things get a little bit more artsy for the first time in a while once the summer madness is over.
August isn't too hot of a month for movies. By this point, a lot of moviegoers feel fatigued from all the action and explosions. However, big hits can still happen.
July is hotter than August.
Kubo came out in August.
Black Panther came out this month and made a billion. Also, Peter Rabbit was a hit too.
First two weeks of January.
I want to release a good film during this month to make people happy, but I have to wait until soon.
Why doesn't this excite you? You know, kissing people on New Year's.
