Top 10 Movies that Deserve a Sequel the Most

Some movies drop a mic so hard, you're left staring at the credits with one question on your mind: That's it? These aren't forgettable flicks or overcooked franchises clinging to life. These are the ones that built rich worlds, threw open narrative doors, then vanished without so much as a follow-up text.

Maybe the characters had more story to tell. Maybe the universe begged to be explored further. Or maybe the ending felt more like an intermission than a final act. You've seen them. You've obsessed over them. You've rewatched them with the kind of hope usually reserved for lottery tickets, thinking maybe this time the story will go on. It never does.

1. Forrest Gump

   

   There actually are book sequels. Just none were made into movies.

2. The Simpsons Movie

   

   It will most likely be some sort of Channel Chasers-style adventure in which the titular family pursues an on-the-run Sideshow Bob (who has stolen a seemingly trivial item that the city of Springfield considers crucial) through every single Disney movie in existence, while ruining every single one of them through their reckless antics.

   That would be cool if they made The Simpsons Movie 2.

   The show needs to end with another movie.

3. The Dark Crystal

   

   The Dark Crystal is worth expanding, more like its counterparts Star Wars, Star Trek, and The Hobbit, which earned their continuations.

   The Dark Crystal's lore is so mysterious. There's more to this standalone. I must know more about it, even if it just received 68 sequels.

   That would be pretty epic, not gonna lie.

4. Inception

   

   Again, there is the possibility of one of his kids getting involved with dream work, but that would make the amazing ending less perfect.

6. The Polar Express

   

   That would be cool if they made The Polar Express 2. I would probably watch it.

7. Minority Report

   

   Yes, it would be great to see a sequel of it.

8. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut

   

   Yes! Except I don't think Trey and Matt liked working with the MPAA too much, so it's not too likely.

   Could probably work as the now inevitable series finale.

   South Park needs another great film.

14. Alita: Battle Angel

    

    Alita needs to finish the mission and destroy Zalem.

    Hopefully, it turns out better than Ralph Breaks the Internet.

    Our prayers have once again been answered.

    That would be cool if they made Zootopia 2.

    That would be a cool sequel if they made a Big Hero 6 sequel.

    Who doesn't want to see more Baymax?

18. Ready Player One

    

    Will most likely turn out better than Ralph Breaks the Internet, especially if Steven Spielberg returns to the director's chair for this.

    Yes, please! Way more deserved than Space Jam 2!

19. Sky High

    

    Seriously, how come Inspector Gadget, Air Bud, and Beverly Hills Chihuahua all have sequels, but this awesome movie doesn't? Disney really gets its priorities backwards sometimes.

    Long overdue. Disney should have prioritized making a sequel immediately after releasing the criminally underrated first one.

    They seriously should have made a sequel a year or two after the first one. And they should have also made the whole thing a trilogy.

20. Spirited Away

    

    It would be nice for Spirited Away to get a sequel, but I like it the way it is.

    Who doesn't want to revisit that beautiful spirit realm?

    I would definitely go see it!
