Teen Titans Go! To the Movies Looks Like Garbage!

MegaSoulhero Which shouldn’t be surprising. They recently released a teaser trailer for the movie and wow does it look horrible! In 2016, there was Norm of the North. In 2017, there was the Emoji Movie. And for 2018, we have Teen Titans Go! To the Movies! Or Sherlock Gnomes. One of those two.

The whole idea of them making this movie just really infuriates me. Teen Titans Go is not a good show. It’s actually really bad. In fact, I consider it one of the worst cartoons currently airing right now! If not THE worst! So when this movie was announced, I literally through my phone at a wall. I don’t know why they decided to make this movie. The original Teen Titans didn’t get a theatrical movie, but TTG does get one. Anyway, let’s discuss the actual trailer. Well just like the Emoji Movie teaser, it starts out with a character in front of a white background talking about the movie. After Robin says how much he has always wanted a movie, the other Titans come out dressed as Wonder Woman. Thanks for reminding me of a movie I’d rather be watching. We hear an epic narrator voice, making the movie sound more epic than it really is, and it shows the Titans fighting a giant balloon monster. Beast Boy fires quills at its butt which causes air to come out of it and it sounds like a fart. Yep. I was waiting for that. Why do kids movies like putting fart jokes in their movies? They’re not funny! They actually spend 20 seconds on this joke! Including such a very dumb line to end it! Then the trailer ends with the narrator saying “If Aquaman can get a movie, anyone can.” Okay, that was actually kind of funny. But it’s also more proof that the creators are trolling the audience! Even the faces that the Titans make at the end says it all! Just because they acknowledge that their show is terrible doesn’t make it safe from criticism!

Basically, this trailer is a perfect example of everything that’s wrong with Teen Titans Go! The terrible humor, the unbearable characters, the lackluster animation, and the stab at other media! I’ve been seeing a lot of people say that we should go easy on it since it’s just a kids movie. That is a really dumb excuse! So being a kids movie means that they can just throw whatever kind of trash they want and it would be okay? Toy Story is a kids movie and that actually had effort put into it! The entire Teen Titans Go cartoon just acts as if kids will watch anything! It’s these kinds of things that drive me crazy! People also use the argument that the Lego Batman Movie was a parody of Batman and everyone loved that movie. Here’s the thing, though. Lego Batman was actually funny! Teen Titans Go has been on for (I think) 4 seasons and they fail at being a funny parody of the original Teen Titans! You’re basically comparing an actual good movie to a movie based on a terrible TV series! Speaking of Lego Batman, Will Arnett’s in the film. We don’t know who he’s voicing yet. I have an idea of who it might be, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the movie goes in the other direction.

Teen Titans Go! To the Movies looks really bad! It looks just as bad as the cartoon! Even the animation looks the same! It’s not the kind of animation that should be used in a theatrical movie! I can’t believe that instead of an Adventure Time movie, we get this! But apparently a lot of people are excited for it. Which means it’s still gonna make money. Anyway, I’m currently working on a review of another bad cartoon. I’m not gonna say what the cartoon is yet. So I’ll give you a hint. It involves 3 teenage stereotypes, one of which is voiced by a dead celebrity, and it involves them going on cliché adventures. And it isn’t nearly as bad as Teen Titans Go!

Sometimes, self-deprecation isn't always the answer to a good laugh. The only franchise I know that does this well is Sonic the Hedgehog.

On the other hand, look at how well Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back and The Emoji Movie handled it...

Yeah, at best, the Teen Titans Go! movie would have been better off as a cheap direct-to-DVD movie or a stupid T.V. special.

Because apparently, they thought Trouble in Tokyo wasn't worthy of a theatrical release and only aired on television in its debut and subsequent reruns, but that it's completely okay for TTG to get a movie in theaters with the same cheap production value it's always had.

The only way out of this is if the teaser trailer was completely made up and the actual movie was much more serious and plot-oriented. But I doubt that. - visitor

As expected worst ever - BoyGenius234

Teen Titans GO is basically the T.V. show equivalent of an internet troll. And they're getting a THEATRICAL RELEASE! - Phillip873

I'd like it if they made Teen Titans Go To The Slaughterhouse - TwilightKitsune

Sick burn, brah - visitor

The lip-syncing in that trailer sucked.. - Drawbox

The secret plot is that they're streaming and it's a delay.
...I think. - visitor

To keep with the topic of cartoon reboots, what are your thoughts on the upcoming ThunderCats Roar reboot? My list about it is already an indication of my thoughts on it. - visitor

I don’t really know much about Thundercats. So I don't really have much of an opinion on the reboot. - MegaSoulhero

I can understand that. After all, I'm no 80's kid either. :/ - visitor

What did you expect? - iliekpiez

The Incredibles 2 and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Will kick the putrid Teen Titans Go movie to Mars and back.I saw Incredibles 2, and it was awesome! So was Jurassic World (theatre was nearly full!, and that was just the regular real-D version! ) The Teen Titans Go! Movie (I feel like I loose two brain cells saying it) will be the biggest box office bomb ever. Please pray for the parents and the siblings m, who are unwittingly dragging to this film by their screaming kids/brother, and sisters, pray for them. - MJfan119
