Top 10 Bands Eric Clapton Joined

The Top Ten
  1. Cream

Cream was a 1960s British rock supergroup power trio consisting of bassist and vocalist Jack Bruce, drummer Ginger Baker, and guitarist and vocalist Eric Clapton. The band was known for its blend of blues, psychedelic rock, and hard rock. Cream is often regarded as one of the first supergroups and was... read more

Cream is an amazing band. With them, Clapton made "Sunshine of Your Love" and "Crossroads," which remain two of his most popular recordings.

Cream is underrated. They are just as good as The Who and The Doors.

Bands wish they could even come close to this band.

  2. Derek & the Dominos

Derek and the Dominos were a blues rock band formed in the spring of 1970 by guitarist and singer Eric Clapton, keyboardist and singer Bobby Whitlock, bassist Carl Radle, and drummer Jim Gordon. They are best known for their 1970 album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, which includes the hit Layla... read more

My favorite album of all time, song for song! "Have You Ever Loved a Woman" has the most blazing blues guitar you'll ever hear, and it's so clean! When it came out in 1970, I even thought that guitar-wise, it was as good as anything he did in Cream. Listen to Live Cream Vol. 1 and 2, and you'll hear why Eric is the #1 most influential and ridiculously greatest guitarist since 1967! Better than Jimi too, and Jimi's my #2 favorite!

With Derek & the Dominos, Eric Clapton created the legendary song Layla.

  3. Blind Faith

    Best band ever!

  4. The Yardbirds

The Yardbirds are an English rock band formed in London in 1963. The band launched the careers of three of rock's most famous guitarists: Eric Clapton (1963-1965), Jeff Beck (1965-1966), and Jimmy Page (1966-1968), all of whom ranked in the top five of Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest... read more

I loved The Yardbirds. The music was clear and crisp. Rave up!

BEST BAND HE WAS IN. Also, I love Jimmy Page, and he was in it too.

  5. John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers

The Beano album is what got me started on guitar! All the star guitarists today say that it was the most influential album of all time. He was way ahead of his time here in 1966 at just 21!

  6. Eric Clapton & His Band

How the hell could The Eric Clapton Band, 45 years now, be rated this low? You're kidding me, right?

Eric's band was called this when he played with Dick Sims, Jamie Oldaker, and Carl Radle. That was Eric's best band and should be WAY UP THERE!

    His best band today.

  7. Powerhouse

  8. Delaney & Bonnie & Friends

  9. Plastic Ono Band

  10. Jimmy Page and the Immediate All-Stars

  11. The Contenders
  12. Vivian Stanshall & the Sean Head Showband
