Top 10 Best Albums of the 2000s

The Top Ten
1 Awake - Josh Groban

This is the most diverse and creative album Josh has produced so far. It's good to see how far he's come since he first began. His music is captivating.

This album is unique in it's differing musical styles.

Are you serious guys? Why is this in the first place?!?

Why is this no. 1

2 Kid A - Radiohead

Radiohead took a major risk with this album, completely changing styles that Pablo Honey, The Bends, and OK Computer had and diving into a pool of experimental music. The random mash of instruments, sounds, and vocals became a result that was one of the greatest albums of the 2000's if not of all time.

Josh groban, really? Kid A was the most unique and creative album the 2000s with such memorable songs such as idioteque, everything in its right place, how to disappear completely, the national anthem and (my personal favourite) motion picture soundtrack.

I don't often agree with Rolling stone, but when they rated this the best album of the decade my faith in them was restored, (temporarily). The perfect start to mediocre decade.

One of the most emotional albums of all time, especially in motion picture soundtrack.

3 American Idiot - Green Day

What Sgt. Pepper was to 1960s and The Wall was to the 1970s is what American Idiot is to the 2000s. A wonderly crafted set of songs of similar themes within Rock Opera story. Its one of the few true works of art in music during the aughties.

One of the most infamous comebacks in music history was Green Day putting this album out. It deserves number 1.

Has one of the best songs of the 21st century on it - Jesus of Suburbia and why is Heart on top of the list? Never heard of them!

Green Day had taken a major risk when taking this album and it worked so well!

4 In Rainbows - Radiohead

The best Radiohead album and probably the best album ever made. Why the hell is an awful Josh Groban album No. 1?

I could never get into Kid A. But this album is phenomenal. Absolutely Perfect.

Best album of Radiohead and Radiohead is the best band in the world so...

House of Cards, Nude, Weird Fishes...this album has some amazing songs

5 The Marshall Mathers LP - Eminem

Easily number one. Why is this so low. And why does that Michael Jackson album get so many votes on everything.

Out of these top 10 he's the only one that's still making good music or alive. This is what started it all.

Eminem is one of my favourite rappers for sure but I think that kid A is better

6 Funeral - Arcade Fire

It's a disgrace that this so far down on the list. Not only is this one of the best albums of the 00s, it's one of the best albums of all time. I'm also surprised that This is It-The Strokes is so far down when it is one of the most fun to listen to albums ever.

This is THE best albums of the 00s. How come its only at 20?

7 Hopes and Fears - Keane

Not only is it a great album, but Josh Groban? Come on! This makes Josh Groban look like something that belongs in a petting zoo.

An excellent sound. Beautiful. Passion and emotion burns behind the soft tones and ethereal vocals. Influences from Radiohead, Coldplay, u2 and others, but a unique sound all its own]

8 Meteora - Linkin Park

Oh please this is the best album of 21st century how come its not on no. 1 spot.
This is the best album ever made equivalent to Hybrid Theory of its own Paranoid of Black Sabbath Master of Puppets of Metallica Back in Black by Ac/Dc.
So it is automatically no. 1. Period.

Easily the best album of all time. It has Numb, Faint, Somewhere I Belong, Breaking the Habit, From the Inside, and Lying From You. All six of those songs went on to be famous

Best album of all time? More like best joke of all time. They are more overrated than meek mill and iggy azalea man

9 Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park

Hahaaha so many kids are out here voting for pop music.
See this is the best piece of music that could ever made even Linkin Park can't create such masterpiece again.

I admit I'm not a big Nu Metal fan, but you can't deny this album is amazing. Definitely deserves to be higher than #9.

With this album I fell in love with music. Still Linkin Park's best work. Can listen this forever.

This is by far the best album of all times, not only the 00s. I love Linkin Park and this album and Ithink this one should by number 1

10 Is This It - The Strokes

This is one of the best albums of all time, let alone the 00's, and well I'm here, might as well complain about there being no In Rainbows in the top ten. There, I'm done.

Really? Josh Groban at the top? THIS is the best album, bringing back some of old rock and roll's essence into the 21st century.

Nor only their finest album, but one of THE finest albums recorded.

Last nite, someday, trying your luck
This is the best album of the 00's

The Contenders
11 Madvillainy - Madvillain
12 Invincible - Michael Jackson

This album is beautiful. Michael sang the songs with such depth and emotion. His reality of life in his songs is amazing. Speechless is on this album and that song alone makes me speechless. awesome album and I just can't get enough of it.

One of his worst albums in terms of sales, and yet it still managed to take the number one place during its release. If Michael Jackson at his worst is better than any artist at his/her best then this surely beats all! You Rock My World

I think MICHAEL JACKSONs invincible album should be at number 3 at least I liked his invicible album much and I enjoy drinking coke for example when I listen to some of my big time favorite albums. You can call me lame for all I care.

Probably the most underrated album of all time... Some of the songs are awesome and a lot different from your typical Michael Jackson stuff.

13 Stankonia - Outkast

This is a masterpiece, from beginning to end it showcased the duo dealing with problems and having thoughts ahead of their time.

14 Confessions On a Dance Floor - Madonna

Madonna's greatest album in the 2000's. Dance/Electronica sound was really impressive. The lead single "Hung Up" broke all the records during that time and was #1 in 45 countries. My personal favorite song here is "Sorry" - beautiful, deep and very emotional

It's sad but true: this is HER last album. Everything after is commercial. But even this album is not really her as American Life.

As much as I love her "Rebel Heart" album, I must say this: "Confessions On a Dance Floor" was her last "true" album!

This site has the most idiotic rules I've ever seen. "Confessions..." was #12 yesterday but after one dishonorable mentions it became #279? LOL Why should I vote then? Haters and annoying losers may put great album down with easy

15 Harem - Sarah Brightman
16 Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not - Arctic Monkeys

I prefer American Idiot really as in the best from the 00s but I should get my point across...

This is all the way down here due to the songs based around urban British life. Not relatable with Americans. This album is much stronger than half the crap above it. For one, it has cultural meaning from Britain in the 00s.

This album defines a whole generation and genre of music. Each song on this album is fantastic. It's all about the disheveled and messed up life of being a working-class teenager and simply trying to figure out your life. There are songs about dealing with fake and annoying people (still take you home, fake tales of San Francisco, etc.), songs about young love (you probably couldn't see..., mardy bum, etc.), and songs about how rubbish your own town is (a certain romance, when the sun goes down, etc.). It's one of the finest collections of songs of all time. Whether you're British or not, it's still a relatable and heartwarming album that everyone should listen to at least once.

Linkin Park? Madonna? Mariah Carey? Surely it must just be Americans voting in this list, because Arctic Monkeys aren't as popular over there somehow. This is one of the greatest albums ever. Every song is brilliant and I don't know how it's all the way down at 40.

Best all round album

17 The Emancipation of Mimi - Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey's The Emancipation of Mimi wasn't only the best album of 2005, it was also one of the bests, if not the best, of the 2000's decade. It set and broke several records, and was the best-selling album of 2005 with over 10 million copies sold worldwide. It produced six singles which all experienced success on different charts globally. It produced two chart-toppers, We Belong Together and Don't Forget About Us. We Belong Together topped the chart for 14 weeks, the longest stay at number one in the past decade, and the second longest stay at number one ever, only behind Mariah's very own One Sweet Day, a collaborative effort with Boyz II Men, which topped the song for an undisputed record of 16 weeks. In between WBT's reign, TEOM's third single peaked at number two, making Mariah the first and only female artist to occupy the top two positions on the Hot 100. The other chart-topper from the album, Don'r Forget About Us, became Mariah's 17'th number one, the most for any female. ...more

It's a great R&B album!

The lyrics are inventive, the music is nice and the vocals are at their best!

18 Crush - Bon Jovi

Not my favorite Bon Jovi album, but is definitely one of the best albums of the 2000s. It's my life and Thank you for loving me, best hits of this album.

It's my life, best song of bon jovi including have a nice, this is better than that crash of heart and Madonna!

One of my top 3 favorite albums from this amazing band.

19 Speakerboxxx / the Love Below - Outkast
20 Hot Fuss - The Killers
21 Jupiter's Darling - Heart

This CD is as good as any HEART ever recored. J.D. ranks right up there with Little Queen and Dreamboat Annie. If you don't have it ,buy it and give it a spin. Recored in 2004, it ranks in the top 3 of all of HEARTs records.

Things,Prefect Goodbye, Lost Angel are three of the best songs HEART has ever recorded but of course they made the radio station play list.To busy playing that RAP junk.

22 The Blueprint - Jay-Z

How this so low. It is so much better than the overrated MaMathers Mathers. It is one of the best rap albums of all time and Jay-Z is the second best rapper behind Biggie, Eminem is just plain overrated

This album should be much higher, it is much, MUCH higher than the Marshall Matters LP, this album has excellent beats and it has a very diverse sound, it's the best album of the 2000's in my opinion

You think jayz was better than slim? Looks like the world just turned upside down

23 Stadium Arcadium - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Seriously?!?! Dani California, Snow (Hey Oh), Tell Me Baby, Storm in a Teacup, Charlie, Warlocks, the list could go on?!?!

24 Death Magnetic - Metallica

Love this album it is so good, every song is a masterpiece.

The lesser of all evils. and I don't even like it. That says something about this list

25 The Script - The Script

The Script is the 2nd best script album. Top 5:
1. The Script and...
2. The Script
3. Why are you here
4. Superhero
5. Your my only one (40 tracks! )
