Best Carcass Albums
Carcass are a death metal/grindcore band from England, formed in 1985. Although widely regarded as pioneers of the grindcore genre, their early work was also tagged as splatter death metal, hardgore, and goregrind. However, they also became one of the pioneers of melodic death metal with their 1993 album Heartwork. To date, they have seven studio albums, five EPs, one live album, one split, and four compilation albums in total.
Was there any doubt this would be first? It's the perfect album. Great guitar work, but not too melodic like Swansong (even though it was quite good).
Such a heavy album. It's a masterpiece and must be played at every show! Rock on, Carcass!
It makes sense that this would be at the top. It's often considered to be the first melodic death metal album ever made and is among the greatest metal albums ever. Definitely Carcass' magnum opus.

This is the best by far. It's in Carcass' transition period and combines the aggression of grindcore with the melody from Amott.
I feel the first two albums are very underrated. Everybody seems to hate on them, but it's not just because these albums helped launch the grindcore and goregrind genres. I truly think they are solid albums.
Symphonies of Sickness, especially, is amazing. Reek was good, but the production isn't as good. Plus, Symphonies contains some of the best grind anthems. I urge all fans of Carcass to at least give these albums a shot if you haven't already.
This and Necroticism are their best albums.
Symphonies is just great.
A magnificent album with influences from the entire metal scene.
Top 3 material.
Not the best Carcass album, but still not bad. Carcass has never made a bad album. So even though it's low on this list, it still deserves a listen. Highlights would be "Black Star" and "Rot N' Roll."
I listened to the crap out of this album since the title pretty much says it all.
