Top 10 Jacob Sartorius Songs that Should Have Become More Popular Than Hit or Miss

Before you ask me, "Why does it say Hit or Miss and not Sweatshirt?" well, here's the thing. Hit or Miss is technically the bigger song of the two. It peaked at number 72 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, and no, that was in 2016, before those "you know what" memes. Meanwhile, Sweatshirt only peaked at number 81 in Canada and 90 in the US. Hit or Miss also has over 10 million more views, and no, most of those views came before the memes.

Personally, I feel like if these songs had been bigger hits, Jacob Sartorius wouldn't be so hated. These songs aren't masterpieces, but they still show he's not as bad as everyone says he is. Like, come on. He's been making music for almost four years now, and he's still only 17.

Anyway, with that being said, if you think Jacob has better songs than Hit or Miss that unfortunately didn't become big hits (then again, HOM wasn't a big hit anyway since it only spent 2 weeks on the charts and peaked at 72), feel free to add them.

  1. All My Friends

    This... song. I don't know how to explain it.

    Okay, it's not the best song in history, but it HAS to be one of the best songs of 2016, the best one if not. This is a fun and very catchy EDM pop song that, despite some autotune and slight similarities to other songs, still has an incredible beat and drop with a perfectly timed bassline. The singing matches the upbeat tune as well.

    The lyrics fit the tune, whether you consider both a mess or not (though I don't personally). They are inspirational and even become unpredictable at one point. The synths actually work well and aren't obnoxious either.

    If this isn't enough to make the Billboard charts for even one week, I don't know what is.

  2. Up With It

    Up With It was where we saw the beginning of improvement in his vocal maturity. I even saw people joking about how he "finally" hit puberty (he was 15 at the time of release, so if that's true, I'd be surprised).

    The lyrics are also more mature, and the theme can strongly be used for relaxing yourself, calming down, or straight up romance (okay, that was a little cheesy, but still).

  3. No Music

    Good ballad if you ask me. You don't just hear the same two notes on repeat unlike some of his other stuff.

    The song is honestly kind of emotional in my opinion as well. Lyrically, vocally, and instrumentally it's solid. There's a lack of autotune, and while the song may not be amazing lyrically, it still has pretty nice lyrics.

  4. Said No One Ever

    Everyone: Oh My GoD tHiS sAmPlEs CoLd WaTeR oN oNe LiNe BlAh BlAh BlAh.

    Do you realize there's a difference between sampling and similarity?

    Anyway, this song has a great meaning about how everyone feels the pain of life and love. The song is another one with a catchy tune, and there's not that much autotune to distract from it. Definitely deserves approval.

  5. Party Goes Harder

    As his newest single, by now all I can see against it is "tons of autotune," which I definitely understand, but the melody just becomes catchy on its own.

    It's simply a fun dance song that reminds you of your life and how you miss someone being with you at the fun.

  6. Hang Me Out to Dry

    Note: Couldn't find the audio sample, sorry.

    This song has one of the most unique beat drops of all time, and that's not a joke. It's another song about partying, which shows Jacob is kind of running out of ideas for themes, but that alone isn't a deal-breaker.

    The vocals also manage to match the volume and energy of the beat.

  7. Lonely

    Another song whose audio on iTunes and Spotify got taken down for whatever reason.

    But still, it's great in my opinion with a catchy beat, much more mature and refreshed vocals, and a relatable message about how loneliness can get on your nerves.

  8. Problems

    Great song about how to ignore your problems and not hate, just be your normal self.

    The tune and vocals help you calm down, and you can feel it soothe you from the inside.

  9. Cozy

    His experiment to try a Christmas song went pretty well here. I enjoy the way it all comes together despite small mistakes, and it's quite unique for a Christmas song in its own way.

  10. Last Text

    I get that people hate this song, but I actually think it's decent. Not his best, but let's face it, this is much better than Hit or Miss.

    Autotune maximum? No.

    Repeating the same line again and again? No.

    Horrible rapping? No.

    Crying robot-sounding beat? No.

    That being said, it's just a relaxing, heartwarming song. It's simple, but it's still nice to listen to.
