Top 10 Most Laughably Bad Rock Videos
The video for this song arguably ruined Squier's career. All of the pink, bad dancing, and blatant homoeroticism was damaging to Billy's career.
Billy and the clip director still disagree on who cooked this campy conception up. So bad. So very bad.
I'm not a fan of AC/DC to begin with, but I've seen a few of their more acclaimed videos and liked them. There is NO saving grace for this video whatsoever. It reminds me of those Uncharted Zone videos (Mark Gormley's "Without You," anyone?).
The song rocks, but the video was trash. Who directed it? The dude behind Eiffel 65's Blue (Da Ba Dee)?
Out of respect for the late Neil Peart, I will say that this song is beautiful. However, the video to accompany it was pretty bad. The members of Rush are floating above various landscapes in all their late 80s glory. Then there's a studio, a blonde camera girl, and tiny Geddy Lee floating around the camera girl. Huh?
Oh my god. When I saw the video for the first time, I thought it was hilarious. They were like kids messing around with a blue screen. And Geddy Lee's haircut definitely leaves something to be desired!
I used to really hate this version of the classic MJ tune. Now, I've grown to like it. However, I'm indifferent to that uninspired video. It was nothing special. They're just playing the song in a boxing ring. That's it. Also, just because Carson Daly played it all the time on TRL, it doesn't make it a good video.
Horrible video for a good song! Alien Ant Farm are indeed smooth criminals!
I understand that this video was shot in the early 80s, but that's no excuse! A-ha had the video for "Take On Me" at the same time, which is STILL seen as a work of art. Oh, and it was this song's video that beat A-ha's video at the VMAs. WHAT?!
Yeah, this infamous album had music videos with it, including its most infamous track. You know... I AM THE TABLE!
Kiss are kings of marketing their brand, and Gene Simmons is the cream of that crop. Still, whoever had this idea for a video was on something. It wasn't Kiss' worst decision (that accolade belongs to "Music From: The Elder"), but this video was laughably cheesy.
A Paul Stanley vanity clip. Terrible song, too.
Methods of Mayhem are very hit or miss. I like their song "Crash," as I've grown up hearing it regularly thanks in no small part to a game called Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec. Still, the video for the song "Get Naked" is cringeworthy as hell. I'm all for songs about sex euphemisms, but having a chick riding a giant mechanical chicken to make a visual joke about... well, that... is just lame.
Obvious entry is obvious. What's the worst aspect of this video anyway? The giant dice, the bored cast, the singing Abraham Lincoln statue, or just the song in general? It's debatable what the worst part of the video is, but it's not debatable that this video was straight-up cringe!
The song is far better than the video.
Should be #1. Great song, but an embarrassing clip. Air keyboards, anyone?
Weezer's song "Hash Pipe" was decent. Still, why were they playing in a dojo full of sumo wrestlers? What does this have to do with the subject matter? Just... Huh?
Once upon a time, Coldplay was a loved alternative rock band. However, by the album Mylo Xyloto, they fully embraced pop. Still, they were considered alt rock during this album. The video for this song has the members of Coldplay dressed as animals and roaming the African plains. There was NOTHING cute about this at all!
