"68 to "75 was the golden year for them. And then they again got better after '84. All these times Ritchie Blackmore was with Deep Purple. Though there are lots of songs that I like which Ritchie Blackmore didn't play. But still he was the best member of Deep Purple.
Ian Gillan is an English singer and songwriter. He originally found success as the lead singer and lyricist for Deep Purple, and the original singer on the rock opera concept album Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber, where Gillan had the leading role (Jesus Christ). The definite voice of Deep Purple in my opinion. The guy had impressive range in his prime and his style has been a big influence in metal singing ever since.

Excellent singer, one half of true DP's vocals. Rod Evans started it all though.
Jonathan Douglas "Jon" Lord was an English composer, pianist, and Hammond organ player known for his pioneering work in fusing rock with classical or baroque forms, especially with Deep Purple, as well as Whitesnake, Paice Ashton Lord, The Artwoods, and The Flower Pot Men. He formed the band with Ritchie Blackmore. More likely he was the original founder of the band. Ritchie Blackmore did the music experiment part and he did the member management part.
Eternal. Don does a fine job, but Jon was unique.
