Top 10 Reasons to Hate Taylor Swift

The Top Ten
  1. She removed all her songs from Spotify

Really? Couldn't she find another way to make money from it instead of removing her songs from Spotify?

Tom also had a problem with streaming since he thought it was unfair to bands, but he also understood that his fans wanted to listen to his music for free, so he found a different way to deal with it rather than taking his songs off streaming.

Taylor needs to be more creative and thoughtful. She could have come up with a different way. She needs to understand that people want to listen to her music for free. She should have done it like Tom did. That way, she would not disappoint her fans.

I don't hate her for this, but it was a mistake that she could have fixed or handled better.

  2. She is more concerned with money from her fans

The thing that bugs me is that she is called the most charitable celebrity every year, but every time she does something nice, she has articles written about her. Then she wins tons of awards for it. She videotapes herself giving gifts to fans and then wins something.

Why can't she just do it and not say anything about it? Why does she always need everyone to know she does something good? There are celebrities out there who do good for people but don't get credit for it, like awards or titles. They are totally fine with it. The difference they make in people's lives is what they care about, not the awards they get for doing so.

Also, just donating tons of money doesn't mean she cares a lot about it. She always tries to "help" by donating money, and that isn't always the answer to what being charitable means.

  3. She didn't release her album 1989 on Spotify

You know what? I absolutely love Taylor, and I would defend her with my life, but here I would have to agree.

  4. She has very expensive songs on iTunes

Christina Aguilera's Stripped and Back to Basics both have 20 songs, and the price of both albums is at least $11.99, but when it comes to 1989 (Deluxe), which has an additional 3 songs and 3 boring voice memos on top of 13 original tracks, the album price is $13.99 on iTunes.

Well, I'm pretty sure that is because she has more songs on her album than other artists do.

That's why she's so greedy and rich.

  5. She writes a lot of songs about breakups

I just read an article about how she's had seven more relationships than the average woman. Is it just me, or does it almost seem like she social climbs with both guys and friends? Every new relationship she starts is with some A-lister and is usually short-lived. I have a theory that her relationships end because whoever the guy is she's dating either discovers that she's more than just her pretty face, in a bad way, or just notices this trend in general.

Similarly, this seems to be the same with her "squad" friends. Remember when she was "besties" with Lorde right as Lorde's "Royals" was at the top of the charts? When was the last time you saw Taylor in a picture with Lorde? Lena Dunham is another one. Girls is ending, and Lena seems to have drifted from Taylor's top contacts, at least as the pictures on Taylor's Instagram would suggest. I'm not saying that none of her friendships are genuine, but I've just noticed that she tends to make friends with whoever's on the hot list at that moment and doesn't necessarily stay friends with them.

  6. She doesn't understand the concept of 'feminism'

I used to idolise Taylor for her feminism and how she uses her fame to promote women's rights, but then just recently I realised Taylor does support feminism for her own benefit.

The recent Kesha incident? What did she do? I was actually waiting for her response because she was my female idol, but all I saw was that she donated money. To Kesha? For what? And on top of that, she only donated money because people started talking about how they expected Taylor to speak up about it, but she didn't.

That's when it hit me that the person I "loved" was just another "famous" celebrity blinded by fame.

She isn't a true feminist. She has a lot of feuds with women and even judges them by their bodies. And she thinks girls are superior to guys, as mentioned in her songs. Not to mention, her "squad" is really just a clique of attractive girls who are super skinny and tall, which sets a bad example for women.

Feminism is about equality for all people of all colors, men and women, and all religions.

  7. She's a two-faced hypocrite

She's a native to the area where I went to college. I met more than one person that knew her personally, and no one had a nice thing to say. At first I figured it was pettiness and jealousy, but the opinions were really consistent. "Spoiled", "arrogant", "haughty", "had a lot of things handed to her", "just not nice", "obsessed with her image and no substance".

I could give or take the music. It's on par with all the other pop stuff out there. But based on what I know of her personal life, I just couldn't support her. She lacks some moral conscience, and as long as it's safe from the public eye, she'll hurt whoever she wants.

Gross how she played a man of substance to run away from relationship growth with DJ. So shallow and petty. Disgusts me.

  8. She is talentless and a weak vocalist

Her vocals are really poor. She relies on the same notes in every song, and when she tries to mix it up, it's usually a disaster that doesn't go over well. I have never been this bored with a person this popular. Her songs sound the same, and most rely on the chorus. Her lyrics are usually really boring and meaningless. The songs are easy to listen to, and little kids can sing the lyrics, so I guess that is a plus, but I like my lyrics the way I like my men: mature and intelligent.

I can't find anything more accurate. Now I am going to listen to actual music, not audio crap. I would like to say I am listening to The Sisters of Mercy right now, and if you don't know who they are, your taste in music is bad.

  9. She's overrated

It is all about her appearance. She isn't a special singer. I used to like her so much before. Now, of course, I realize her true face and personality, which hide under her skin. She is so fake! I wonder why she is on the list of the best singers of all time.

Teenagers and children usually like to listen to her songs. But when they grow up, they will realize Taylor Swift is not a great singer. She is just a simple singer. Her songs are not good. Now I don't like to listen to her voice. I don't like her.

She makes friends and has relationships with whoever is becoming famous. It is a strategy to increase her career. She is a cat that hides its nails. Why do people like to listen to her music? It is simple. Teenagers and children are interested in relationships. Most of Taylor Swift's songs are about relationships. Also, her music seems fun. So people like to listen to fun music. That is all. It is too shameful to compare Taylor Swift with other great divas and singers.

  10. She steals the attention from other more talented artists

I wish that Taylor Swift was good. I used to love her albums when I was 11, like Speak Now and Fearless. I bought both of them, but now, and even back then to some extent, I started to get tired of her music.

I am starting to get tired of the music industry, too, and yeah, she's definitely not earning her fame well. Demi Lovato has such beautiful pipes, and so do Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Zara Larsson, Fifth Harmony, and Tori Kelly.

I don't think anyone is really creative anymore. Creativity is too restricted now, and I think one reason Taylor Swift is so famous is that her lyrics are basic and more relatable, and when you hear one of her songs, you're likely to feel like you've heard it before.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    She endorsed Kamala Harris

  13. ?

She blames the men in her failed relationships

  14. The Contenders
  15. She uses Auto-Tune

Yes, in her concerts. There are so many artists out there who don't use Auto-Tune.

She uses Auto-Tune in her live concerts too.

I feel sick just thinking about it.

  16. She "sold out"

She gave up country to be a pop artist, so yeah, she did sell out.

  17. She's a mediocre singer

I get that she's a great songwriter, but let's face it, people. If you were to make a top ten list of the best female singers, let's say in the last decade, would you REALLY put Taylor Swift there? I mean, she has a pretty voice, but I guarantee you that there are a ton of less popular singers who could do a better job singing her songs.

She only has a two-octave vocal range, which is average, yet she is more successful than other singers who have a far wider vocal range than her.

She is pretty bad, a better vocalist than Yoko Ono and Dahvie Vanity, but still bad. I haven't heard a show where she can sing, or heard her without auto-tune actually singing decently.

  18. She has a body that sucks

    Anorexic and disgustingly tall!

  19. She doesn't care about her poor fans

It's not just Taylor, because as well as having many fans, she has a lot of people who hate her. She has many videos on the Internet that both lovers and haters watch. When one hater criticizes her, her many fans just jump at the chance to defend her and argue with the hater. Her fans get a lot of criticism that can sometimes include a very mean comment. I have not once seen her defend them or even thank her many fans for their support.

I'm sorry, but if I'm rich and I can buy your music, which I will never do, it doesn't mean that others can.

  20. She is always defended by people

Her fans are just like Halsey's and Ariana Grande's fans. They defend them, yet they don't realize how awfully they treat their fans.

  21. She ruined Calvin Harris

She only used Calvin for her next breakup song. I am sure she will make it to the number one spot. Next year she will diss Tom and again write a breakup song that'll become a worldwide bestseller. Wow. She uses people to write her breakup songs. I hate her.

Ruin? Techno music sucks. No talent, just simple drum beats, cheesy licks, and basic lyrics.

All his songs sound the same, so she did not ruin him if there was nothing to ruin.

I don't understand why she dates so many guys who are famous and look okay. Then she breaks up with them and writes songs. The songs are listed in No. 1.

  22. She's a fake

Surely a lot of people in the music industry can be fake in one way or another, but they are genuine at other times. Honestly, I have not known any celebrity faker than Taylor in the entire music industry. She is just a sellout. She tries way too hard to be edgy and is constantly changing her public personality to fit the likes of others. I also find her very self-centered and think she only stands up passionately for causes if it benefits herself. I don't hate her, but she is just overrated.

I am tired of her fake generosity. If she really wants to give back and be generous, go ahead and do it, but don't publicize it. It's all fake and only for marketing purposes.

I have known people who give back even when they don't have enough, and the media is not all over them making it public. A true act of generosity should be from the heart, and the entire world doesn't need to know about it.

  23. She has too many bad relationships with other people

She dated too many guys, and she writes dumb songs with fun music, which seem nice to people. But it is just foolishness.

You know, I used to like Taylor Swift until 2011. She was my favorite singer until 2014. Now I hate her, and she seems so fake and acts sweet. But she isn't sweet. She seems like a cat who hides its nails.

Now I don't like to listen to her simple, tiny voice and dumb music. She is definitely overrated because of her white skin, blonde hair, tall and thin body. Just listen to her songs. Her voice is not good.

I'm not gonna lie. The fact that this is #28 on this list is incredibly sad, because this is perhaps the #1 reason I'd hate on Taylor Swift. Her attitude towards the many boyfriends, combined with her skyrocketing rise to popularity, contributes to some awful songwriting on her next big hit song. Taylor is becoming a worse and worse role model as time goes by, and it's not good.

  24. She is ugly

Taylor Swift is so ugly she went into a haunted house and came out with a job application!

Fun fact: She looks almost like the daughter of the creator of Satanism.

Let's face the truth, she looks totally ugly without makeup.

  25. She dated Harry Styles for publicity

And he's not the only one. Most of her relationships are fake. It's actually quite sad to be that obsessed with your image and only focused on making more money.

Well, it sure wasn't a romance, because wasn't he overheard in London saying she's a pain in the arse?

Stupid. Because of publicity, they had to break up.

  26. She had a song taken off YouTube because a couple used it in their wedding and she didn't receive money for it

She has stopped caring about her fans and doesn't make music anymore with the true intentions to help people. She has become a crazy, greedy, psychotic freak.

I mean, come on, you are already one of the richest people in the world. Are you going to take all of it on your chest when you die or what? Other singers might not be as rich as you or may not bash the top singles on the charts, but as a human, they aren't fakers and greedy like you, Taylor Swift.

It's the YouTube copyright infringement. She wasn't so free to check all the YouTube videos to see if they had her songs in them.

  27. She is racist

She was rude to Nicki Minaj when she was pointing out something good about Black women getting more recognized in the industry. Taylor got offended and had to be mean. At least she apologized.

As shown by her objectification of Black women in the "Shake It Off" video and her romanticisation of colonialism in the "Wildest Dreams" video, she is nothing but a racist.

That's true. She never truly respected Nicki Minaj.

  28. She writes songs about her exes

I personally have no issue with people writing songs about their exes. I only have an issue when she makes them out to be the "bad guy" or "villain," when in reality the breakup was caused by both of them, not just the guy.

Some artists write songs about their exes but still speak of them respectfully or don't completely trash their name. For example, Harry Styles from One Direction. In their song "Perfect," there is a line that goes, "If you're looking for someone to write your breakup songs about, baby I'm perfect."

Now, obviously this is alluding to his past relationship with Taylor Swift. Do you notice how he can talk about her but isn't trashing her name or saying anything bad about her? I don't understand why she can't show that same respect for him or any of the other guys she has dated.

  29. She gets most of her awards by writing songs about her exes
