Best Songs From Metallica's ...And Justice for All
One is my favorite Metallica song for some simple reasons. First of all, it has a fantastic intro (though For Whom the Bell Tolls is still the best). The topic is very interesting, and the sound of the guitar - especially the lead one - is the most awesome you can find in Metallica's music.
One was the third Metallica song I ever listened to, and I am really proud of that!
Man, this song is amazing. The rather calm parts in the beginning to the fast-paced ending - it's just incredible.
This is definitely my favorite song off this album, if not my favorite overall Metallica song.
It's just pure perfection. The intro is the greatest I've ever heard. On the original demo, the intro is different because it's the original one. On the album, they reversed the intro, which made it even more epic. That's Metallica for you. Whether they play the intro forward or reversed, it's just perfect.
Not to mention the main structure of the entire song - the riff, the solo, the drumming, the bridge... The best song ever!
Blackened has the distinction of having the best intro, best riff, one of the best solos, and one of the most anthemic choruses Metallica has ever produced.
A perfectly crafted piece, it is Metallica's best opener in this solid masterpiece of an album. Brilliant drumming too. No complaints whatsoever.
In my opinion, this is the best song by the band. I still love One (from the same album) and all the stuff with Cliff (my idol). ...And Justice for All has a fantastic solo by the lead guitar, and the lyrics are the best I've ever read. Because of its duration, it's rarely played live by Metallica, but it's still my favorite song.
At first, I didn't really like this song. In fact, the only song I initially liked from this album was One. But now, I think this album is even better than Kill 'Em All. This is my favorite song on the album. I'm sorry that One didn't make number one on my list, but it was dang close. I love Metallica!
The only what if experiment with this song was on Master of Puppets. That being said, this song could probably be on Master of Puppets - for the bass parts. Put Dyers Eve on Master of Puppets!
Everything about this song is great. And yes, it is better than Damage, Inc., even though the lack of bass could be a problem.
It's extremely fast and fun - exactly what thrash metal should be. This is simply a fantastic song on a fantastic album.
How is this lower than One? This song is probably Metallica's heaviest song ever, let alone on the album.
This is a fighting song. It makes you want to kick some ass.
This song is the most complex, melodic, and dynamic masterpiece ever created by Metallica. It begins with a clean melody, soothing and relaxing, which makes the thick, booming, heavy riffs that much more powerful.
In the middle, it shifts back down to a lighter feel, transitioning from an aggressive tone to a softer one. In my opinion, it mainly touches the emotions, hitting the pathos in persuasion. It makes you feel emotionally connected and drawn, much like the works of Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach.
This song takes you somewhere - a trip of its own kind. It has a charisma entirely different from any other songs of the modern day because it sparks imagination. I listen to it incessantly, and I'm brought to a different, yet beautiful, place. Props to Metallica for this beauty.
I don't understand why this is so low on the list. It's a great Metallica work, and the beginning is badass.
This song is just so good! If you haven't heard it yet, it is a must-listen. Seven minutes of pure Metallica!
Come on, guys. That riff at 4:05 is from another planet!
And I don't even want to talk about the solo...
Wow! The fact that this song is ranked number nine shows that most people haven't listened to the entire album, or they missed the solo. It's a masterpiece!
The Shortest Straw deserves this position. It has a great riff, the lyrics are fantastic, and there's so much energy in the song. Oh, and One is not the best.
Are you kidding me?! This song is amazing! It's really underrated.
Shortest Straw... Challenge Liberty
Dawned by Law... Living Infamy
Rub You Raw... Witchhunt Riding Through
Shortest Straw... The Shortest Straw has been pulled for you!
Every song is awesome in the masterpiece called ...And Justice for All, but to me, this is the best, along with Dyers Eve and The Frayed Ends of Sanity. It's a shame that their best songs (and album) are so underrated while Master of Puppets is so overrated.
This song and Dyers Eve should top this list. It's a very underrated song, but it is incredible.
The intro, as it slowly gets louder, just sounds great and really gets me pumped.
