Top 10 People Who Died in the Worst Ways

All of us will eventually have to face our mortality. However, some people have died more violently than others, and these are the people who suffered the most before they took their final breaths. To make it even sadder, most of these were inflicted upon intentionally by other people.
The Top Ten
1 Kelly-Anne Bates

I don't even feel comfortable sharing the details. This case haunts me. I'm just going to say that a 16-year-old Kelly dating someone in his mid-40s is easy to forget because of how brutal her four-week torture-murder was.

This was horrific. Her eyes were literally gouged out! I feel so bad for her and her family. This definitely deserves to be number one.

2 Hisashi Ouchi

A Japanese nuclear power plant worker who was exposed to 17 times the lethal amount of radiation while on the job. They experimented on his decaying body for 83 days before finally deciding to end his suffering. There are pictures of him as he was dying on the internet, and they are gruesome.

OMG, did you see the pictures? This is a horrific way to die.

3 Junko Furuta

She was a Japanese schoolgirl who was kidnapped and tortured for 44 days by four bullies who claimed to have ties to the Yakuza. It was estimated that she had been raped between 400 and 500 times. The list of her injuries is too extensive to write here, and be warned: if you choose to look it up, you will be traumatized.

4 Consort Qi

Qi had a son with Gaozu, who was the emperor of the Han Dynasty at the time. Liu Zhi, the empress, wanted her son to be the heir, but Gaozu preferred Lady Qi's son. Liu was outraged by this, so she had Qi's son poisoned and Qi herself tortured by having her tongue cut out, her lips and limbs cut off, and her eyes gouged out.

Qi was then humiliated in a pigsty full of manure and presented as the human swine.

5 Inalchuq, Governor of Otrar

The Khwarazmian Empire was so big and powerful that it even earned Genghis Khan's respect, briefly. After a failed attempt by Khan at forming diplomatic ties, Shah Muhammad II's uncle, Inalchuq, accused the Mongols of being spies.

Khan gave Muhammad II a second chance, telling him to punish his uncle and return the diplomats, merchants, and prisoners he had sent to Khwarazmia in an attempted peace treaty.

In what was perhaps the most costly lapse in judgment of all time, the Shah had the Mongol diplomats' beards shaved, and the Muslim interpreter and prisoners executed. This resulted in possibly the most brutal act of revenge of all time - a war so one-sided that the Khwarazmian Empire ceased to exist within just two years. Shah Muhammad was forced to flee, dying two weeks after arriving on an island in the Caspian Sea. The Mongols executed Inalchuq by pouring molten silver all over his face and into his ears.

6 Sylvia Likens

Sylvia Likens was force-fed bodily excretions, starved, beaten, and burned in a variety of ways for weeks on end. This was instigated by a depressed, impoverished lady tasked with taking care of her, who also did a lot of the dirty work herself.

7 Fan Man-Yee

The victim of the infamous Hello Kitty murder. This case is very similar to that of Sylvia Likens. Fan was burned, beaten, starved, and force-fed bodily secretions. After she finally succumbed to her many injuries and passed away following a long, agonizing, horrific month, her tormentors decided to boil her head until it was nothing but a skull and stuff it inside a Hello Kitty doll.

8 Dr. David Douglas

The Douglas fir tree's namesake was a Scottish botanist who mysteriously disappeared. It is highly suspected he died a less-than-pleasant death on Mauna Kea, Hawaii. Imagine falling into a huge pit of spikes and then having a bull fall on you. Ouch.

9 Jose Melena

Jose Melena was slow-cooked for two hours in an industrial oven while being crushed by aluminum cans that were also being heated up in the oven.

10 Jesus Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, Palestine. He was born to Mary, as the bible says "she was found with child of the Holy Ghost" (Matthew 1:18). He was both man and God (John 20:28). According to the bible He is God alone (Deuteronomy 6:4)... read more

Honorable mention goes to Jesus Christ because, despite how brutal the lashes, nails, and glass shards to His body followed by the crucifixion were, in the end, He conquered Hell and saved us from our own sin. He is now back in Heaven with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

This naive and impressionable teenage girl from a run-down part of northern England hung out with the wrong crowd, and they bullied her for petty reasons. Eventually, one of her captors caught a case of crabs and they put the blame on her.

So, they kidnapped and tortured her for a week before setting her on fire and leaving her to die at an embankment. She was tied spread-eagle to an upside-down bed and drugged with methamphetamines during some of her torment.

18 Angus Cloud

He struggled with his mental health and life so much that, no matter how much help he got, he ended up overdosing on drugs at such a young age. He was known as Fezco in the HBO Max drama series Euphoria and passed away at the end of July.

Twenty-five is way too young, and he had such a bright future ahead. He had every chance and wasted it. This was an absolutely devastating loss for entertainment and has the potential of getting the series canceled. R.I.P. (1998-2023).

She was a popular YouTube creator known for her Xeldalove64 channel and her covers of songs. Yet, she was very versatile and was continuing to grow. She was interactive with her fans as well and wanted to show the most kindness possible, all until some guy named Kevin James Loibl shot her while she was meeting fans.

She passed away the following evening. She didn't make it past her 22nd year. This should be really high on the list. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. Because of this, meeting fans is now viewed as a safety concern among security, leading to tighter security measures that lower the chances of meeting your favorite stars. R.I.P. to a bright angel gone too soon.

20 Selena Quintanilla-Pérez Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was an American singer, songwriter, spokesperson, actress, and fashion designer.

She was killed while only continuing to grow more and more successful. She was a huge inspiration to the Latin music community and would've beaten every other Latina artist, but it was all prevented by murder. Why would somebody who knows her do that?

She will be missed forever. R.I.P. (1971-1995).

We learned about her in school and this continues to haunt me.

21 John Lennon John Winston Ono Lennon, MBE (9 October 1940 - 8 December 1980) was an English singer and songwriter who rose to worldwide fame as a co-founder of the Beatles, the most commercially successful band in the history of popular music. The mighty member of the Beatles, the co-founder and lead member, an activist of peace who wanted better for the world, was killed by Mark David Chapman, who was a crazed "fan."

Mark didn't like when he said the Beatles were more powerful than Jesus Christ. While Jesus was and is always the most powerful, Mark shouldn't have taken such an incredible figure away like that. He shouldn't have killed John at all. Lennon is missed forever, even today. R.I.P. (1940-1980).

23 Randon Lee Nichols

The son of Ophelia Nichols was shot less than one day before his 19th birthday. A truly horrible loss for her and the family. A parent should never lose a child or somebody loved to gun violence (or any kind of violence).

What's worse was that this happened just three days after summer started. Truly a horrible way to start summer. She posted a reaction video that was among the most viewed TikTok posts in 24 hours. R.I.P. (2003-2022).

24 Miya Marcano

She was a resident and student of Valencia College West Campus, Charles W. Flanagan High School, and the University of Central Florida. She was killed by a maintenance worker in September 2021. The sheriff could've saved her, but it was too late. R.I.P. (2002-2021).
